Inshore lifeboat tasked to 6mtr Rhib at 1339, which had been swamped by large wave near No 19 Buoy, River Medway, craft lost all electrical and engine power, 2 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene, both persons okay and craft taken under tow to Queenborough harbour, where it was secured. ILB returned to station at 1507. Wstly 5.
All weather lifeboat tasked by UK Coastguard to a report of craft possibly on fire at Princes No5 buoy. Lifeboat launched at 0520, on route, further information advised that it was the “Buoy” on fire, on scene at 0612, cage of buoy alight, lifeboat used fire pump to extinguish the flames. Coastguard & London VTS advised, lifeboat released and returned to station at 0820. SW 3.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1613 to report from Kent Police of a body in the river at Rochester, Kent Police and CG teams in attendance. ILB stood down at 1649, just as they were approaching the scene, shore units confirmed to have recovered the body from the water. ILB returned to station at 1749. SSE 3.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1514 in response from Kent Police of a report of a body sighted near Rochester. Whilst on route, the crew were advised that it was a false alarm and object was a large baulk of timber, having been stood down, the ILB was immediately re-tasked to a report of a small vessel broken down near Nore Marsh with two people onboard. The ILB located the casualty, taking the two persons onboard, the craft was towed back to Gillingham, where they were landed. ILB returned to station at 1655. SW 4.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1847 to 17ft dayboat with 3 persons onboard disorientated in Fog in the Swale. ILB managed to establish communications with craft and with sounding of foghorn and shouting, the casualty was located to the North of Long Point, all 3 persons okay, the ILB escorted the craft back to Kingsferry launch ramp, where they were handed over to Sheppey CRT. ILB returned to station at 2048. SE 1, Dense Fog.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1054 to report of person jumped from M2 Motorway bridge, Rochester. ILB on scene at 1131, commenced search of river along with CG Helicopter 163 and Coastguard units and Police ashore, after a thorough search, the ILB was released at 1326 to return to station for crew change and refuel. ILB back on station at 1358. UK Coastguard advised that not re-tasking ILB, therefore it was rehoused at 1430. SE 1.
All weather lifeboat launched at 1546 to dinghy reported drifting in Black deep channel, on route to scene, lifeboat advised that reporting vessel stated dinghy in derelict condition and no one onboard, ALB carried out search of area, nothing seen. ALB released at 1720 and returned to station at 1905. Estly 3.
All weather launched at 1222 on request of UK Coastguard to drifting small yacht, which the Pilot Cutter now had under tow, on scene, no sign of recent occupation, yacht towed back to lower Camber at Sheerness and ALB ready for service at 1320. NW 4.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 0720 to report of vulnerable person threatening to jump from Rochester Bridge, ILB was quickly stood down, when the person was removed from the scene. ILB rehoused at 0752. Wstly 3.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1059 to report from UK Coastguard of a craft adrift at Rochester, uncertain if anyone onboard. ILB arrived on scene and confirmed, no persons onboard and craft broken free from mooring, craft secured and handed over to Cg. ILB returned to station at 1243. NW 4.
