All weather lifeboat launched at 1352 to person collapsed onboard yacht, which was now underway making for Sheerness, lifeboat met the craft off Sheerness Docks, two crew trained in casualty care placed onboard the craft, person now conscious and able to walk, assisted onto lifeboat, which then returned to its mooring, person handed over to Ambulance crew, lifeboat ready for service at 1443. NW 4.
Inshore lifeboat tasked at 1429 to report of vulnerable stuck in the mud at Gillingham Strand, River Medway. ILB stood down at 1438, person safe with CG. ILB re-housed. Nthly 5.
All weather lifeboat launched at 0337 to report of activated “EPIRB” being picked up by satellite. Position in area of Gillingham, River Medway. ALB carried out search using D/F equipment and searchlights, nothing untoward found, ALB released and returned to station at 0515. Sthly 3.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1910 to small 16ft Dayboat broken down and drifting at Rochester, 3 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene at 1941 and located craft secured to a ladder on a disused wharf. The ILB towed the craft to the safety of a pontoon at Rochester Esplanade, where they were met by Medway CG. ILB returned to station at 2112. NE 4.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 0220 to 7 mtr yacht with one person onboard, broken down and drifting very close to rocks at Garrison Point. ILB on scene at 0224, tow line secured and craft towed clear of danger, the yacht was towed to the safety of Queenborough harbour, where it was secured. ILB returned to station at 0405. Nthly 4.
ALB launched at 2156 to 18ft Yacht aground on Maplin Sands, 2 pob. Southend L/B and rescue 163 also proceeding. On scene at 2240 and standing off in deep water, Southend L/B also standing off, Rescue 163 airlifting casualties from craft at this time. Once casualties safe onboard helicopter, ALB and Southend L/B released, ALB escorting Southend back to station, casualty craft left aground on sands. ALB returned to station and ready for service at 2357. SE 6.
ALB launched at 1520 to report of craft sinking at Rochester, unknown name or if any persons onboard. ALB stood down in Cockham Reach, from Cg, craft unattended and too dangerous to go onboard at this time. ALB returned to station at 1652. Estly 5.
ILB launched at 1717 to 19ft Yacht aground near Folly Point, 2 pob. ILB on scene at 1739, casualty hard aground on a falling tide, occupants happy to remain onboard until incoming tide. ILB crew placed out anchor for craft and then returned to station at 1840. SW 4.
ILB launched at 1426 to report of capsized sail dinghy off Gillingham with one person in the water. Police RHIB on scene at 1439, followed by the ILB at 1444, Police handed over the casualty and his dinghy to the ILB, which then towed the craft to shore at Gillingham Strand. ILB returned to station at 1600. Wstly 4/5.
All weather lifeboat launched at 1620 to 8mtr Yacht, 2pob, broken down near Nore Swatch buoy. On scene at 1632, casualty under tow at 1635. Yacht towed into the safety of Sheerness harbour, where the tow was released, as owner wished to sail onto Gillingham. ALB returned to station at 1730. SW 4.
