2010 Callouts Histoy

2nd January All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1248 to 30ft motor cruiser broken down whilst on passage, 2 persons onboard, the casualty was quickly located near the Mid Swatch buoy and taken in tow for the River Medway and was secured in the Lower Camber basin at Sheerness at 1331. wind Wstly F4.
2nd January All Weather Lifeboat proceeded at 1332 from previous incident to another 30ft Motor Cruiser broken down  with 1 person onboard very close to Stoke saltings, River Medway, the Lifeboat arrived on scene to find workboat assisting casualty, who had managed to re-start one of his engines, craft was towed clear and proceeded to his mooring in Stoke Creek under his own power. Lifeboat ready for service at 1455. wind Wstly F4.
2nd January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1336 to report of small dinghy in trouble off Gillingham with 1 person onboard, ILB arrived to find sole occupant was fishing and no assistance required, ILB returned to station at 1455. wind Wstly F4.
15th January Inshore Lifeboat tasked at 1326 to 25ft Cruiser reported drifting off Gun Wharf, Chatham, ILB was stood down before launch, when casualty was assited by local craft.
25th January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1937 to 21ft Sports Cruiser broken down in Swale near Kingsferry bridge, 4 persons onboard, the casualty was quickly located and towed to the Kingsferry launch ramp. ILB ready for service at 2035. wind Estly F4.
30th January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0035 to a 22ft Angling Boat reported aground on Lappel Bank upstream of Sheerness Docks, ILB arrived on scene to find the single occupant in the water attempting to stop his craft from going any further ashore, one crewmember was transferred to the craft and the person brought onboard. The ILB secured a tow and towed the craft clear and into Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. ILB ready for service at 0131. wind NNW F4.
31st January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1820 to report of “Cries for help” heard in area of Upnor, River Medway, ILB carried out search along with RAF Rescue and Police Helicopters, Cg & Police units ashore, nothing was found and ILB was ready for service at 2100.

8th February Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2028 to Two Persons unable to get ashore from their moored vessel in Queenborough Hbr, ILB transported the two occupants and their dog ashore, where they were met by Sheppey CG. ILB ready for service at 2118.

14th February Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1719 to report of ‘Submerged craft’ drifting off Eastchurch, ILB arrived on scene to find large bulk of timber, as this could be a navigational hazard, the object was towed to the shingle bank, Minster. ILB ready for service at 1938. wind Nthly F2.
21st February Inshore lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1049 to 22ft Cruiser broken down with seized engine and now at anchor off Sheerness docks, 2 persons onboard, the ILB towed the casualty into the safety of Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured. ILB ready for service at 1148. wind Sthly F3.
6th March All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1113 and inshore Lifeboat at 1119 to 36ft Angling Boat reported to have grounded and now making water in East hoo Creek, River Medway, 5 persons onboard, both Lifeboats arrived on scene and casualty now underway with only minor leak, the ILB was released and the ALB escorted the casualty to Gillingham. ALB ready for service at 1318. wind Estly F4.
28th March Inshore Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1141 to 21ft Sports Cruiser with outboard failure in Eastern Swale, 3 persons onboard, Whitstable Lifeboat also proceeding. Sheerness ILB arrived on scene at 1216 and took over tow, returning to Kingsferry bridge launch site. ILB released at 1412, returned to station and ready for service at 1448. wind SW F 3.
3rd April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2320 to report of possible suicidal person at Rochester Bridge, ILB commenced search at Command House and continued upriver to M2 Motorway bridge, nothing untoward found, search terminated. ILB returned to station at 0155. wind Estly F2.
11th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1440 to report of 13ft Open Boat with 2 persons onboard, broken down and now ashore on mainland side of West Swale, ILB arrived on scene and took the the two occupants onboard and recovered the craft and towed it to Queenborough causeway, where it was landed. ILB ready for service at 1543. wind ENE F5.
11th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1801 followed shortly by the All Weather Lifeboat at 1811 to an injured crewman onboard a 11mtr yacht in Saltpan Reach, the casualty had been struck on the head by the yachts boom and had been unconscious, the ILB adminstered first aid and the casualty was transferred to the ALB, who landed him ashore at Sheerness to awaiting ambulance, both Lifeboats, ready for service at 1930.

17th April All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1930 to 7 mtr Angling Boat out of fuel and at anchor approx 1 mile North of Sheppey Coast, 3 persons onboard, casualty located and the craft was taken in tow for Queenborough hbr, where it was secured back on it’s mooring at 2040, the ALB was immediately re-tasked to a 10 mtr Cruiser with overheating problems in the River Medway near No 18 buoy, one person onboard, the casualty was taken in tow for Chatham maritime marina, where it was secured at 2206, the ALB returned to staion at 2310. wind SE F 3.
18th April All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1245 to 7.7 mtr Angling Boat broken down in a position near SW Barrow buoy, some 11 miles from Station, one person onboard, the casualty was safely located and taken in tow for it’s mooring at Thorpe bay, Southend, where it was safely secured. ALB returned to station at 1510. wind Easterly F3.
19th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1640 to 21ft Motorboat aground in West Swale with 1 person onboard, casualty aground on Sheppey side of river, near Sharfleet creek, the ILB arrived on scene and managed to re-float the craft, the ILB towed the casualty to Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured and handed over to CG. ILB returned to station at 1857. wind ESE F4.
24th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1758 to report of 18ft Motorboat aground near Nore Marsh, River Medway, upon arrival, casualty had re-floated, all 4 persons onboard safe and well. ILB took casualty in tow, the owner managed to re-start the engine and was happy to proceed to Rochester under his own power, the ILB stayed with the casualty for a short time before being released. ILB returned to station at 1953. wind ESE  F3.
25th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1812 to report of inflatable being blown out to sea off Sheerness, the ILB recovered the inflatable with no persons onboard and landed it back at the Lifeboat Station, the ILB was then tasked to a report of a 25ft Cruiser ashore on the North side of Burntwick Island, River Medway, the ILB arrived on scene and upon investigation, the owner had put his craft ashore after hitting debris in the river, damaging one of his props, no further damage sustained. The ILB assisted to re-float the craft, before it proceeded back upriver under it’s own power. ILB ready for service at 1944. wind SW F3/4.
2nd May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1204 to a 32ft bayliner Cruiser with engine problems off of Holehaven, the casualty is presently under tow of a Police RIB, the ALB arrived on scene and placed one crewmember onboard and secured a tow, ALB proceeding to Queenborough Hbr, where the casualty was secured, ALB ready for service at 1500.

3rd May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0600 to 21ft Yacht who put out Mayday call after losing their outboard overboard, unable to sail in present conditions, 2 persons onboard, ILB located the casualty approx 1 1/2 mls north of Garrison Point, tow established and casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough hbr. ILB ready for service at 0747.

10th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0938 to carry out search of River Medway between Upnor and Rochester following discovery of clothing ashore at Sun Pier, ILB carried out search of river along with Police helicopter and CG/Police units ashore, with nothing found, the ILB was released and returned to station, ready for service at 1225. wind ENE F4/5.
13th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2142 to report of missing Kayaker off Hoo, River Medway.

ILB commenced search of river & creeks, crewmember placed ashore to search foreshore of Hoo Island, the search was terminated, when the missing person was located safe and well at his home address. ILB ready for service at 0024. winf Sthly F2.

19th May All Weather crew paged for launch to 30ft Cruiser with engine problems near East Blyth buoy, crew were stood down before launch, casualty happy to proceed under one engine.
19th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1726 to canor and rubber dinghy thought to be in trouble off Sheerness, ILB arrived on scen to find occupants both ok and out for leisurlely “paddle”, ILB escorted them back to shore, where they were met by CG. ILB returned to station and was ready for service at 1750. wind Estly F3.
20th  May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1627 to 22ft Cruiser broken down with engine failure at the Maplin Buoy,12.5 mls from station, 3 persons onboard, the crew had managed to secure their craft to the buoy, ALB arrived on scene, crewmember transferred and the casualty was taken in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured at 1850, ALB ready for service at 1945. wind Estly F2.
22nd May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1615 to 11mtr Dutch Motor cruiser out of fuel and at anchor near Oaze Deep buoy, 3 persons onboard, 10.8 mls from station, casualty taken in tow and towed to Gillingham marina fuel berth, ALB returned to station at 2010. wind Estly F2.
23rd May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1423 to 43ft Cabin Cruiser with fouled anchor and folued propellor near No 11 Medway Channel buoy, 3 persons onboard, casualties anchor chain was cut to free it and craft towed into Queenborough hbr, casualty secured at 1603. wind Estly F2.
23rd May All Weather Lifeboat tasked from previous incident at 1604 to 43ft Cabin Cruiser at anchor East of Montgomery Wreck with complete electrical failure, 6 persons onboard, casualty taken in tow and towed to Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1750. wind Estly F2.
25th May All Weather Lifeboat launched 1930 to 16mtr Motor Cruiser ashore on Grain Spit, 5 persons onboard, due to state of tide, the ALB was unable to close the casualty and the launch of the Inshore Lifeboat was requested to assist, ILB launched at 1942 and once on scene, the ALB’s tow line was passed to ILB to run into casualty, once secure onboard, the casualties anchor was cut away and the ALB towed the casualty into deeper water and into the safety of Queeborough Hbr.ILB returned to station at 2055 followed by the ALB at 2150. wind Estly F6/7.
26th May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1355 to 8mtr Yacht being sailed single handed, when owner became unwell. Rescue Helicopter also tasked, position of yacht was near Barrow deep No 9 buoy (approx 18 mls from station). The casualty was airlifted from the yacht by Rescue 125 and flown to Hospital, the ALB arrived on scene shortly after, the yacht was stiill underway on autopliot, two crewmembers were transferred to the yacht and a tow was established at 1453, after a long tow home, the casualty yacht was secured in Queenborough hbr and the ALB returned to station at 1840. wind Estly F4.
30th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1905 to report of small craft aground near Nore Marsh, River Medway and occupant trying to make his way ashore. ILB arrived on scene at 1928, ILB crewmember put ashore to walk across the mud to casualty, after some 20 minutes, the crewman reached the casualty, due to the depth of the mud in area, the ILB was re-located to South Yantlet creek, where the casualty could be more easily assisted to the ILB, the crewman and survivor reached the ILB at 2036 and now proceeding to Gillingham Marina, where they were met by Medway CG at 2114.

ILB was re-tasked to check on craft aground on Grain Spit, the ILB arrived on scene at 2140 and after checking that all was well, (the owner happy to await next HW), the ILB was released, returning to station and ready for service at 2235. wind NW F6/7.

3rd June All Weather Lifeboat launched at 2210 to report of woman onboard a yacht at Upnor, River Medway with hand/arm injury after getting it caught in a bight of rope, ALB arrived on scene, a local workboat also on scene, the casualty was taken onboard the ALB and treatment given and landed ashore at Chatham Marina along with her husband to awaiting ambulance, ALB ready for service at 0035. wind Estly F3.
13th June All weather Lifeboat launched at 1625 in response to Mayday call from Speedboat in difficulties near No 17 Lightbuoy, River Medway, unconfirmed report that speedboat had been assisted by passing leisure craft, ALB continued and located casualty at Darnettness in tow of Motor Cruiser, All ok and ALB released.

On passage to station, the ALB was diverted to yacht reported trapped under Kingsferry bridge, upon arrival, a tow was passed and casualties anchor recovered, after passing through the bridge, the casualty was towed to Queenborough hbr. ALB ready for service at 1835. wind SW F3.

26th June Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1425 to 17ft wayfarer sail dinghy with 1 person onboard, outboard lost overboard and craft drifting onto lee shore in Queenborough Hbr, the casualty was assisted by local craft in hbr and towed ashore. ILB ready for service at 1445. wind Estly F3.
27th June Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1911 to report of small inflatable drifting off Gillingham Strand with 3 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and commenced search, dinghy located secured to foreign yacht, all persons safe and well, ILB returned to station at 2035. wind Estly F3.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0039 to 25ft Speedboat out of fuel and at anchor in Chatham reach, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, casualty located, tow established and casualty towed to pontoon at Rochester cruising club, ILB returned to station at 0317. wind NW F4.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1024 to small inflatable dinghy drifting off Gillingham Strand with outboard failure, 2 persons onboard, casualty located off Darnettness Fort, persons taken onboard ILB and dinghy towed back to Gillingham. ILB returned to station at 1224. wind SW F5/6.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1349 to Wayfarer dinghy in tow of Southend L/B with adult and 3 1/2 year child onboard, ILB rendevoused with Southend L/B in Medway channel and took over tow of dinghy, whilst Southend proceeded to Sheerness to land casualties, who were checked over by Sheerness personnel, Sheerness ILB brought dinghy into Sheerness, where it was subsequently recovered to the owners trailer.

4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1810 to 15ft Angling Boat broken down in the West Swale, 4 persons onboard, casualty located SW of West Point in Queenborough hbr and towed back to the All tide landing, ILB returned to station at 1915. wind SW F5/6.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2010 to 37ft yacht with engine failure, still under sail but unable to make the entrance of Queenborough Hbr, 1 person onboard, due to the strong tidal and wind conditions, the ALB was requested to assist. The ALB towed the yacht into the safety of Queenborough, ILb returned to station at 2150. wind SW F6.
4th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 2040 to assist the Yacht with engine failure, attempting to make Queenborough hbr, ILB stood by casualty, ALB towed the casualty into the safety of Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 2150. wind SW F6.
5th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1523 to 35ft cabin Cruiser with 3 persons onboard, broken down with electrical failure near Middle Sands. Whitstable L/B arrived on scene and commenced a slow tow towards the Sheerness ALB. ALB arrived on scene, tow established and one crewman placed onboard, casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1735. wind NW F4.
7th July Inshore Lifeboat crew paged at 0016, report of two persons in the water at Medway Bridge marina, Rochester, ILB was stood down at 0027, persons safe ashore.
10th July Inshore and All Weather lifeboats launched at 1458 to 24ft Motor Cruiser aground on West Shore, Sheerness Harbour, both Lifeboats arrived on scene, casualty high and dry, anchor placed out by ILB crew and craft left to refloat on next HW, ILB returned to station and ALB proceeded to No 15 buoy, where a 20ft Motor Cruiser with 2 persons onboard had broken down, the casualty was taken in tow for Gillingham Marina pontoon, where it was secured at 1629, ALB returned to station at 1730, wind Sthly F3.
10th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2212 to Cabin cruiser aground on West Shore, Sheerness Hbr, ILB stood by whilst casualty refloated and when casualty was unable to restart engines, the ILB took the casualty in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured at 2304, ILB returned to station and ready for service at 2335. wind Sthly F 3.
11th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0905 to Motor Cruiser, the ILB had dealt with the previous evening, casualty was lost and unsure of position in Thames Estuary , using Lifeboat’s D/F equipment, the casualty was located off Shoebury at anchor, casualty taken in tow and towed to the safety of Queenborough Hbr. where safety advice was passed by Lifeboat crew and Sheppey Cg. ALB ready for service at 1055. wind Sthly F3/4.
11th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1435 to report of small inflatable drifting off Sheerness seafront, one person onboard and one person in the water. ILB on scene with casualty, who is almost ashore, casualty made shore safely and ILB released. ILB ready for service at 1500. wind Sthly F 4/5.
11th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1606 to report of inflatable drifting off Sheerness, ILB carried out search of seafront, nothing untoward seen, ILB returned to station at 1634.

13th July All Weather lifeboat launched at 1805 to a 32ft Fishing vessel broken with fuel pump problems near the Princes Channel No4 lightbuoy, some 15 mls from station, one person onboard, Whitstable L/B also proceeding, who reached the casualty first  and commenced a tow towards Whitstable, the ALB took over the tow near the Kentish Flat windfarm and towed the casualty to within half a mile of Whitstable, where it was passed back to Whitstable L/B for them to place on a mooring. ALB returned to station at 2125. wind Sthly F3.
16th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1226 to 24ft bayliner Cruiser with 3 persons onboard, broken down off the LNG Terminal, Isle of Grain, ALB on scene at 1235, although the casualty had an anchor out, the craft had dragged it’s anchor under the walkway of jetty, the ALB closed the casualty bows on and managed to pass a heaving line with the tow line attached. The casualty was safely towed clear into open water and then towed into Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. The occupants were landed by the ALB, back at sheerness. ALB ready for service at 1415. wind SW F6.
18th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2211 to report of person threatening to jump from Rochester Bridge, the ILB was recalled at 2224, when the person was detained by Police. ILB ready for service at 2250. wind SW F3.
24th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1250 to report of 45ft fishing vessel aground South of the Pollard Spit lightbuoy in East Swale, whilst on route to casualty, the ALB was stood down, when it was confirmed the casualty was hard aground and would not refloat until the next HW. ALB returned to station at 1400. wind SW F3.
24th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2004 to report of 4 persons hanging onto navigational mark off Otterham, the ILB arrived on scene to find 3 persons in a tender and one on an inflatable jetski, persons were waiting for their parent craft to refloat and not in need of any assistance, ILB returned to station at 2125. wind SW F3.
25th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1015 to 27ft Angling boat with 3 persons onboard broken down off the Ham Gat buoy in East Swale. ALB located the craft and took the casualty in tow for Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 1400. wind WNW F3.
25th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1229 to 26ft Yacht broken down with engine failure off Conyer Creek in Swale and unable to sail into creek, 2 persons onboard. The ILB located the casualty and towed it safely back into it’s mooring in Conyer. ILB returned to station at 1400. wind WNW F3.
29th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1506 to small inflatable broken down off Grain shore with 1 person onboard, casualty located and occupant taken onboard ILB, craft towed to the West Shore, where the person was landed with his craft, ILB returned to station at 1548. wind NNW F3.
4th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1103 to craft with fouled propellor reported off Eastchurch Cliffs, size and number onboard unknown as comms were lost with Cg. ALB arrived on scene 20 minutes after launching to locate 16ft Open Boat with 1 adult and 1 child onboard, craft had suffered damage to it’s propellor, the two occupants were taken onboard ALB and craft towed to Queenborough, where they were met by sheppey CG. ALB returned to station at 1239. wind WSW F4.
10th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1703 to 24ft Angling vessel on passage from Brightlingsea to Rochester and suffered engine failure and now dragging anchor, 2 persons onboard, near No 2 Medway Channel buoy. ALB arrived on scene, casualty now underway, but engine reported to be unreliable, casualty was taken in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured. Lifeboat returned to station at 1846.

12th August ILB crew paged at 1739 for small boat with swamped outboard, 2 persons onboard, craft uncertain of position,but poosibly in River Medway, the ILB was stood down and ALB requested to launch instead, as position of casualty possibly seaward of Garrison Point.

All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1810, proceeding to Grain Swatchway to commence search, further info from casualties mobile phone put them even further to the East, after talking direct to the casualty, a rough position was obtained, the casualty was located just to the SE of “F” Beacon, (some 5 miles from garrison point), the occupants were taken onboard the ALB and the craft towed into Queenborough hbr, the ALB returned to station at 2047. wind NW F3/4.

14th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1326 to report of person threatening to jump from Rochester bridge, ILB was recalled at 1330, when it was confirmed that person had been recovered by CG. ILB returned to station at 1350. wind Estly F2.
15th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0425 to 8 mtr Belgium Cruiser, reported to be making water after running aground on causeway off Hoo, River Medway, ALB arrived on scene, casualty had been towed to an alongside berth and occupants safe ashore, ALB provided pump and two crew, whilst casualty was towed to drying out berth by marina workboat. ALB returned to station at 0655. wind NNE F5.
16th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0530 to 9mtr Cruiser aground on rocks, believed near Nore marsh, 5 persons onboard. ALB located casualty on the North side of Nore marsh, ALB unable to close, tow line was passed over by use of rocket line, casualty eventually towed clear and taken to Gillingham Marina pontoon. ALB returned to station at 0730. wind NW F 6/7.
23rd August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1614 to Sailboarder with rig failure and being blown out sea off Sheerness, it was reported that the Pilot Cutter was stood by, ILB arrived on scene and recovered casualty & his rig, no medical attention required, casualty landed ashore at the shingle bank to Sheppey CG, ILB returned to station at 1708. wind SW F7/8.
27th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1430 to Sailboarder thought to be in trouble off Minster  Shingle bank, ILB was however recalled at 1435, when sailboarder came ashore safe and well. ILB returned to station at 1455. NNE  F4/5.
2nd September All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1504 to 28ft Motor Sailer with steering failure, 2 persons onboard, casualty at anchor in entrance of Stangate Creek, a tow was established and the casualty was towed into Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1635. wind Estly F3.
4th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1440 to 23ft yacht with broken rudder just east of Garrison Point with two persons onboard, the ILB passed a tow to casualty, who was towed to Queenborough hbr visitors moorings. The ILB then proceeded upriver to a 43ft Yacht aground near No23 lightbuoy, there were two persons onboard, the ILB stood by the craft until it safely re-floated at 1730 and proceeded under it’s own power to Chatham, ILB returned to station at 1814. wind Estly F3.
11th september All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1050 to a 40ft converted trawler with 8 persons onboard, which had suffered machinery failure off the South Shoebury buoy, upon arrival of the Lifeboat, the casualty had managed to re-start their engine and was proceeding towards Southend Pier, the Lifeboat escorted the casualty to the West of Southend Pier and with owner happy to proceed under it’s own power to it’s mooring, the ALB was released and returned to station at 1255. wind WSW F6/7.
11th September All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1330 to 33ft Cabin Cruiser with 5 persons onboard with steering failure SW of South Shoebury buoy, casualty can only steer in circles and owner very concerned. ALB arrived on scene and crew member transferred, tow established at 1353, heading back across to the Medway. The tow passed without incident, but one of the occupants was taken ill, an ambulance was arranged to meet the casualty at Queenborough, casualty safely secured and met by CG and ambulance, ALB returned to station at 1613. wind WSW F6.
25th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1436 to small 14ft dayboat broken down with outboard failure off Mariners farm, River Medway, 1 person onboard, ILB arrived on scene and established a tow and towed the casualty the short distance to the shore, where they were met by Medway CG, ILB returned to station at 1605. wind NNW F5/6.
26th September All Weather Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1105 to report of Kitesurfer in difficulties off Minster shingle bank, ALB navigated as close inshore as possible before launching the XP boat with two crew onboard to check out casualty, the crew recovered the kite rig, person made shore safely. ALB returned to station and was ready for service at 1300. wind NNW F6/7.
30th September All Weather Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1858 to report of yacht possibly in difficulties in Stangate Creek, River Medway, upon arrival, the yacht was found aground on the seawall, assistance was declined by the owner and his crew and were happy to await next H.W, ALB returned to station at 2000.
3rd October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0930 to 15ft dayboat aground on West Point in Queenborough Hbr, 2 persons onboard, the craft was located high & dry and due to the wait for next H.W, the persons were taken off and landed ashore. ILB returned to station at 1115. wind Sthly F5.
5th October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0253 to report of distressed female on M2 Motorway bridge, threatening to jump, person was detained by police & ILB released. ILB returned to station at 0435. wind ESE F2.
11th October Inshore Lifeboat paged at 1327 for launch to seacrh for vulnerable person reported missing at Rochester, person was located safely and ILB stood down before launch.
23rd October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1626 to 42ft Yacht aground on mudflats at Bishops Ooze, River Medway. 2 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene to find casualty high & dry, one crewmember walked across the mud to check on casualty, placed anchor out, owner happy to remain onboard until next tide. ILB returned to station at 1839. wind Wstly F 4/5.
23rd October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2254 to yacht aground on Bishops Ooze and to ensure it refloated safely, ILB arrived on scene, 1 crewmember placed onboard, casualty refloated and escorted to a safe mooring in Queenborough hbr. ILB returned to station at 0155. wind NW F3/4.
28th October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1522 to small 15ft dayboat reported to have broken down off Barton’s Point, 1 person onboard, ILB arrived on scene, casualty had managed to hold onto a buoy, ILB towed the casualty back to the shore and returned to station at 1610. wind WSW F 4/5.
3rd November Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2302 to assist in search for vulnerable person missing at Rochester, possibly near river’s edge, ILB carried out search along with Rescue 125, Police helicopter and shore units, nothing found, ILB returned to station at 0127.

11th November All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1702 to report of 30ft Craft, broken down between Thamesport and Beeness jetty, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, comms only by mobile phone with CG. ALB arrived on scene at 1724, unable to close casualty due to insufficient water, XP boat launched, but still unable to close casualty, Helicopter requested, ALB stood by until arrival of Rescue 104, once casualties were safely airlifted, ALB was released and returned to station at 2000. wind WNE F 7/8.
13th December Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2018 to 45ft Motorboat with fuel problem in the area of Hoo Island, River Medway, 2 persons onboard. After limited communications with casualty and searching the area, the casualty was located aground inside to the North of Hoo Island, with a rapidly falling tide, the ILB took off the female occupant and landed her at Gillingham marina to Medway Cg, the male remained onboard the vessel. ILB returned to station and was rfs at 2218. wind NW F3/4.
29th December All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1710 to 7 metre Sports Cruiser with navigational equipment failure and unsure of position in thick fog, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, casualty safely located off Burntwick island, crewman transferred with portable VHF and casualty escorted back upriver to it’s mooring at Hoo Marina, ALB returned to station and ready for service at 1955. wind Lt Airs, Dense Fog, visibility less than 1 cable.
