Inshore lifeboat launched at 1030 to a 4 Mtr Speedboat broken down off Blackstakes, River Medway. 3 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene and took the craft under tow for Gillingham Dock, where it was secured at 1153. ILB returned to station at 1240. NE 3/4.

Inshore lifeboat launched at 0350 to 3 adult males reported marooned on old ex-Russian Submarine moored at Strood, persons were trying to make their way ashore, when their small inflatable dinghy started leaking. ILB arrived on scene and recovered the males and landed then ashore to Police at Strood. ILB returned to station at 0544. NE Lt Airs.

Inshore lifeboat launched at 2224 to a 7 Mtr Motorboat broken down off Folly Point, 2 persons onboard. ILB on scene at 2245, casualty at anchor. ILB towed the casualty to Gillingham Marina pontoon, where they were met by Medway Cg. ILB returned to station at 0040. NW 3.

15th February Inshore lifeboat launched at 2153 to 25ft motorboat lost in fog in Long Reach, West Swale. 5 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene, casualty escorted back to Queenborough harbour, where it was secured, ILB returned to station at 2317. SE 1, Dense Fog.
16th February Inshore lifeboat launched at 2234 to carry out searchline search of North Sheppey for vulnerable missing person, ILB commenced search of shore from Garrison Point alonf to Minster Leas, person located safe and well, ILB stood down and returned to station at 0005. NW 4/5.
21st February All weather lifeboat launched at 1453 to 27ft Angling Boat broken down with 2 persons onboard near Blacktail Spit buoy, ALB on scene and tow established, casualty towed into Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 1800. NW 4/5.
23rd February Inshore lifeboat launched at 1355 to 27ft Yacht aground near Horrid Hill, River Medway, ILB stood down, when it was confirmed that craft was unattended and local boatyard where away of craft. ILB returned to station at 1425. SW 5/6.
1st March Inshore lifeboat launched at 0955 to report of two kayakers in trouble off Minster shingle bank, ILB on scene at 1005, both kayakers safe ashore, having been recovered by local club jet ski, ILB recovered empty kayak and returned to shore, ILB returned to station at 1125. SW 6.
3rd March Inshore lifeboat launched at 1104 to report of person in the water off Pelican Boatyard, Strood. ILB on scene and commenced search along with CG, Police, Kent Fire & Rescue and CG Rescue helicopter 104, area thoroughly searched, nothing found, ILB returned to station at 1352. Wstly 5/6.
23rd March Inshore lifeboat launched at 1700 to report of person or body in the water at Rochester. ILB stood down at 1715, Police boat on scene attending incident. On return downriver, ILB came across dinghy ashore at Burntwick island, no signs of anyone with it, dinghy towed back to Sheerness. ILB returned to station at 1817. WNW 3.
27th March Inshore lifeboat launched at 1850 to assist 18ft Angling boat with 2 persons onboard,  broken down and at anchor just East of Royal Oak Point, casualty located and towed back to the lower camber at Sheerness. ILB ready for service at 2045. NW 3.
29th March ILB paged, but due to prevailing weather, All weather lifeboat paged instead to a report of 2 persons clinging to a barge off Medway Yacht Club. Crew paged, but stood down before launch, persons assisted by local safety boat from Yacht club. WNW 8/9.
30th March Inshore lifeboat launched at 1025 to report of cabin cruiser drifting off Copperhouse Marsh, River Medway, ILB stood down on 1056, Police RHIB on scene, casualty hard aground and no persons involved. ILB returned to station at 1140. Wstly 5.
30th March Inshore lifeboat launched at 2028 to 30ft Motorboat with fouled propellor in Queenborough harbour. ILB arrived on scene, tow secured and casualty towed to the all tide landing. ILB returned to station at 2135. WNW 4/5.
4th April Inshore crew paged to windsurfer in trouble, stood down before launch.
4th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1328 to small dinghy reported drifting with 2 persons onboard off Gillingham. ILB located craft and towed them back to Gillingham Pier. ILB returned to station at 1500. NE 4/5.
6th April Inshore crew paged at 1434 to report of two youths cut off by the tide at Rochester, launch cancelled, persons assisted by local craft.
12th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1828 to jet Skier broken down off Minster, 1 person onboard, ILB arrived on scene and took the occupant onboard, jet ski towed back to into the beach. ILB returned to station at 1926. Wstly 4.
16th April All weather lifeboat launched at 1633 to 20ft Yacht with 1 person onboard, reported aground on Maplin Sands. ALB on scene at 1702, casualty high and dry and lifeboat unable to get within one mile of casualty, only comms by mobile phone, after discussion with Cg, it was decided to launch Siuthend lifeboat to assist, who with shallower draucght, would be able to close casualty earlier. ALB remaining on scene throughout, until casualty was safely under tow of Southend lifeboat back to yacht’s mooring off Shoebury. ALB returned to station at 2145. ENE 4/5.
18th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1428 to 17ft Angling boat broken down near N0 15 buoy, River Medway, 3 persons onboard. ILB on scene and casualty towed back to Gillingham marina pontoon, ILB released at 1532 and tasked to report of cabin cruiser drifting at Rochester. ILB arrived on scene, located craft, which was in no danger and no assistance required, ILB made way back to station in choppy seas, returning to station at 1710. ENE 6.
19th April Inshore lifeboat paged at 0815 to report of person in the water at Thamesport, launch cancelled, person recovered from the water.
25th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1426 to report of small craft in trouble at No 5 berth, Sheerness Docks. ILB arrived on scene and small 13ft craft with two persons onboard broken down and washed ashore. ILB secured tow and craft towed back to Queenborough causeway, where it was landed. ILB returned to station at 1523.

2nd May Inshore lifeboat launched at 0951 to 25ft motorboat broken down with 1 person onboard and at anchor off Stangate creek. ILB secured a tow and casualty towed into Queenborough harbour. ILB returned to station at 1115. Estly 4.
2nd May All weather lifeboat launched at 1525 to 10 mtr Angling boat broken down with 6 persons onboard and at anchor South of Sea Reach No 2. Southend lifeboat standing by as weather condition on scene too severe for them to tow craft in. ALB transferred a crewman and tow across to casualty via Southend lifeboat, casualty towed back to the entrance of Leigh Ray, where in more sheltered conditions, the tow was passed over to Southend lifeboat. ALB returned to station at 1747. Estly 4/5.
3rd May All weather lifeboat launched at 1754 to 28ft Yacht, broken down and at anchor near West Cant buoy, 2 persons onboard, ALB on scene, crewman placed onboard and casualty towed into Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 1935. SW 7.
3rd May Inshore lifeboat launched at 2008 to report of person possibly stranded on the mud at Hoo island. ILB arrived on scene and located the casualty, who was found to be intending to camp out on island overnight. ILB returned to station at 2140. SW 4/5.
5th May All weather lifeboat launched at 1230 to Kayaker reported to be stranded on Nore Marsh, River Medway. The ALB was deployed due to the prevailing weather in the river. ALB arrived on scene, lifeboat closed to within 25 metres of the marsh, casualty managed to paddle out to the lifeboat, where he was taken onboard alonf with his kayak, no medical attention required. Casualty was landed at Gillingham marina pontoon. ALB returned to station at 1405. SW 8 gusting 10.
10th May All weather lifeboat launched at 1752 to 42ft Belgium Yacht, suffered engine failure with 8 persons onboard in vicinity of Red Sand Towers. ALB on scene at 1820, tow established and casualty towed into Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 2045. SW 2/3.
11th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 2036 to 4mtr RHIB broken down after suffering an electrical fire in outboard, which had safely been extinguished. 1 adult and 5 children onboard, all persons okay, casualty towed back to Queenborough causeway. ILB returned to station at 2137. SW 3.
12th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 0258 to report of injured person onboard a craft at Rochester, ILB arrived on scene, person assessed and able to walk, ILB transferred the person to the shore to awaiting Ambulance. ILB returned to station at 0505. SW 3.
14th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 0240 to take person off craft at Rochester, (same person as service of the 12th). ILB arrived on scene, person assessed and taken ashore to awaiting Ambulance. ILB returned to station at 0417. Estly 3/4.

28th May Inshore lifeboat paged for craft broken down off Minster, launch cancelled, craft made shore under own power.
28th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 2025 to same craft from earlier, which had now broken down off Royal Oak Point with one person onboard, ILB located craft, an 18ft dayboat, craft taken under tow and placed on a mooring off Leysdown, person landed ashore, ILB returned to station at 2215. Wstly 4.
6th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 1718 to small dinghy broken down off Minster Leas with 1 person onboard, ILB on scene at 1727, casualty now managed to re-start his outboard, ILB escorted the casualty back to the beach, where they were met by Sheppey CG. ILB returned to station at 1806. SW 3.
6th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 2315 to assist with person trapped in mud in Queenborough harbour after laying anchor for his grounded yacht. ILB on scene at 2323, but unable to close within 50 metres of casualty. Kent Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, Sheppey & Medway CG on scene ashore, Coastguard Helicopter and Southend Hovercraft also tasked. Person eventually extricated from the mud by Kent Fire & Rescue and handed over to ILB, who landed the person back at Lifeboat station to awaiting Ambulance. ILB then returned to Queenborough to assist in Kent Fire & Rescue in recovering their equipment, other occupant of yacht landed ashore by hovercraft. ILB eventually returned to station at 0130. SW 3.
14th June Inshore lifeboat tasked at 1454 to vulnerable person at Rochester, stood down at 1507, person detained by Police.
17th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 1520 to Jet Ski broken down off Royal Oak Point, Minster, ILB arrived on scene at at 1533, Jet Ski and occupant towed back to launch site at Minster. ILB was then tasked to two persons stranded on Hoo Island after their inflatable Kayak suffered a puncture, ILB on scene at 1635, person recovered from shoreline and taken back across to Gillingham, ILB returned to station at 1730.
21st June Inshore lifeboat launched at 0249 to 4mtr craft with outboard failure in Queenborough harbour, ILB on scene at 0258, casualty towed to All Tide Landing, ILB returned to station.
21st June All Weather lifeboat launched at 1910 to 30ft Cruiser in tow of Southend Lifeboat near No 2 sea reach, one person onboard, on scene and casualty under tow of ALB at 1932, proceeding to Queenborough, on arrival, owner insisted he wished to proceed to Rochester under his own power, tow released, but it was soon apparent, that he would not be able to navigate safely, so a crewman was placed onboard and casualty escorted to Rochester, upon arrival, owner was given safety advice, ALB released at 2310, returning downriver. At 2350, ALB was diverted to report of cries of help heard from area of Stoke Creek, ALB on scene at 2359, but due to tidal conditions, unable to get close enough, Sheerness ILB, Southend Hovercraft and Rescue 125 tasked. ILB arrived on scene, shortly followed by Hovercraft, two casualties located on derelict part of Beeness jetty, these were recovered and transferred to the ALB, Rescue 125 located and recovered the third person from the mud further inshore, ALB, ILB and Hovercraft all released to return to station. ALB & ILB back on station at 0200, persons taken to hospital. SW 2.
24th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 2328 to report of clothing found on seafront and person possibly missing. ILB commenced its search between Garrison Point and Bartons Point. The All weather lifeboat launched at 2338 to assist in the search and was later joined by Rescue helicopter 125, a thorough search of the area was carried out and with nothing found, the ALB & ILB returned to station at 0145. SW 2.
25th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 1642 to report of vulnerable person on Rochester Bridge, the ILB was stood down at 1653, when it was confirmed that the person was now off the bridge and with the Police. ILB returned to station at 1741. SE 2.
25th June All weather lifeboat launched at 1825 to assist a 23 mtr, 80 ton barge/houseboat broken down near the Shivering Sand Towers, 3 persons onboard. ALB on scene at 1907, casualty safely under tow at 1918 and was towed back into Queenborough harbour, where it was secured at 2129, ALB returned to station at 2218. SW 2.
27th June All weather lifeboat launched at 2125 to take over the tow of 15mtr Belgium Yacht from Margate L/B, casualty suffered machinery failure with 8 persons onboard in the Princes Channel. Sheerness ALB met up with the Margate L/B at the West Oaze buoy, casualty in tow at 2157 and towed into Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 0007. SSW 2.
29th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 0115 to report of person in the water at Chathamness, River Medway, ILB arrived on scene and commenced seacrh along with Medway Coastguard and Rescue helicopter 125, River thoroughly searched, nothing found, ILB returned to station at 0326. SW 3.
4th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1634 to a 13ft Speedboat out of fuel and drifting off Gillingham Strand, 2 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene and towed the casualty back to Gillingham Hard. ILB returned to station at 1758. SW 3/4.
6th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1856 to report of Jet Ski in difficulties off Minster Shingle bank. ILB arrived on scene, nothing visual, after sweep of area, a small dayboat was seen near the launch ramp, upon investigation, this proved to be the craft, the 1st Informant reported, no assistance needed, ILB returned to station at 2013. SW 3.
7th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1646 to 27ft Cruiser broken down and at anchor off Deadman’s Island, River Medway, one person onboard, ILB recovered casualties anchor and towed into Queenborough Harbour. ILB returned to station at 1830.

Wstly 6.

15th July All weather lifeboat launched at 1600 to report of possible missing person from craft off Whitstable, which was found drifting with it’s generator running. Whitstable lifeboat on scene, which confirmed that the person had been located safe and well ashore, ALB stood down and returned to station at 1655.
20th July ILB tasked at 1734 as Coastguard were concerned for the safety of a group of youngsters on one of the buttresseson Swale crossing. Launch cancelled at 1741, all persons now safe ashore with Cg unit.
21st July All weather lifeboat launched at 1818 to take over the tow of a 25ft Norwegian Yacht with one person onboard in tow of Southend lifeboat. ALB rendevouzed with the Southend lifeboat, just North of the Montgomery wreck, casualty taken in tow and brought into Queenborough harbour, ALB returned to station at 2017. SW 3/4.
1st Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 0355 to 27ft Craft drifted on Ebb tide and in collision with Car Carrier moored at Sheerness, 3 persons onboard. ILB on scene within minutes of launching, initial assessments carried out and casualty care given to two of the crew for cuts and grazes, craft was escorted into Queenborough hbr under it’s own power, where they were met by Sheppey Cg and an Ambulance. ILB returned to station at 0530. SSW 1/2.
3rd Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 1615 to 23ft craft reported aground off Bartlett Creek, River Medway, one person onboard. ILB arrived on scene, but nothing visual, ILB carried out search of area, still nothing seen, ILB returned to Stangate & Sharfleet creeks and casualty eventually located hard aground on Slayhill Marsh, anchor placed out on craft and owner brought ashore by ILB back to lifeboat station. ILB ready for service at 1830. SW 3/4.
8th Aug All weather lifeboat launched at 1320 to 30ft Cruiser broken down and at anchor near the West Nore Sand buoy, 2 persons onboard. ALB arrived on scene and after assisting to raise the casualties anchor, they were safely under tow at 1344. Casualty secured in Queenborough harbour, ALB returned to station at 1524. Estly 4/5.
9th Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 1830 to report of Sailboarder in trouble off Bartons Point, Minster. ILB advised at 1835, that the casualty was safe ashore, but his sail from rig was still adrift, ILB carried out search. but was unable to locate the sail. ILB returned to station at 1942. SW 3.
16th Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 0014 to report of person in the water at Queenborough harbour. ILB on scene at 0020, luckily the person had been recovered by another vessel, once vessels location confirmed, the ILB took the person onboard and across the harbour to the all tide landing, where they were met by Sheppey Cg and Ambulance. ILB returned to station at 0125. Light Airs.
17th Aug All weather lifeboat launched at 1110 to report of person collapsed on historic tug inward bound in Medway Approach channel. ALB on scene at 1129, Kent Police “Rhib” and Rescue Helicopter 163 on scene, two crew placed onboard to assist with casulaty care if required, ALB remained on scene, whilst person was treated by Helicopter Paramedic, Person airlifted to hospital at 1217, ALB released and ready for service at 1245. ENE 2.
23rd Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 0548 to Jet Ski reported broken down with two occupants in West Swale. ILB located casualties ashore on Elmley Marsh, both okay and were taken onboard ILB, jet ski taken under tow and all landed at launch ramp at Kingsferry Bridge, ILB returned to station at 0722. ESE 2.
23rd Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 2109 to report of 3 intoxicated youths in small inflatable off Sheppey yacht club, ILB stood down at 2110, youths now safe ashore with Sheppey CG, ILB ready for service at 2125. ESE 2.
25th Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 1118 to report of Windsurfer in trouble off Minster, ILB advised on route, that casualty was a small dinghy capsized, single handed and was being assisted by a second sail dinghy also single handed, upon arrival of ILB, neither of the sail dinghies were able to sail back to shore, ILB took one sailor onboard and towed both dinghies back to the beach, the occupants did not need any medical attention. ILB returned to station at 1225. SSW 5.
27th Aug Inshore lifeboat launched at 1557 to Medivac 15yr old girl from Sail Training vessel in Stangate Creek suffering from an allergic reaction. ILB on scene and embarked casualty plus one and proceeded to All Tide landing at Queenborough, where they were landed. Rescue helicopter 163 also on scene and lowered winchman, casualty being treated by NHS Paramedic. ILB released at 1637, casualty now with Ambulance crew. ILB returned to station at 1715. SW 4/5.
7th Sept Inshore lifeboat launched at 1433 to small single person Hovercraft broken down near Kingsnorth in River Medway. ILB arrived on scene, nothing visual. Search carried out and with further info from the casualty, he was located off Motney Hill. Person taken onboard and the hovercraft in tow, due to the tide and the instability of the hovercraft, very slow progress was made and the ILB had to stop several times to bail out the craft, the casualty was eventually landed safe ashore at Gillingham Strand at 1832. ILB returned to station at 1937. Nthly 2.
12th Sept All weather lifeboat launched at 1621 to 20 mtr Dutch Barge broken down with cooling problem and now at anchor South of the Kentish Flats Windfarm, 6 persons onboard. ALB on scene 1710,anchor recovered and casualty safely under tow at 1730, casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 2026.

14th Sept All weather lifeboat launched at 0346 to 12mtr Dutch Cruiser broken down and at anchor near the West Oaze buoy. ALB arrived on scene, crewman transferred and tow established,  casualties anchor recovered and craft towed into Queenborough harbour, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 0700. SE 3/4.
20th Sept All weather lifeboat launched at 1858 to 22ft Sports Cruiser disabled with gearbox failure, 3 persons onboard, drifting near Blacktail Spit buoy. Naval vessel reported to be standing by. ALB alongside casualty at 1935 at the Maplin Bell buoy, casualty taken under tow and arrangements made for Burnham lifeboat to launch and take over the tow into the River Crouch, this was safely done at 2045 in the vicinity of the Whitaker Buoy, ALB returned to station at 2230. SW 3.
24th Sept Inshore lifeboat launched at 2121 following “Cries for Help” heard off Queenborough causeway. ILB on scene at 2128, commenced search of immediate area along with Sheppey CG, nothing untoward found. ILB returned to station at 2230. Wstly 2/3.
25th Sept. Inshore lifeboat launched at 1241 to report of 35ft vessel making water on mooring off Gillingham, 2 persons onboard. ILB on scene along with Kent Police Rhib, Police Rhib returned to Station to collect portable pump from ALB and then returned to vessel, craft pumped dry, but owner refused to be towed into local marina. ILB & Police Rhib released and ILB returned to station at 1515. WNW 2.
26th Sept Inshore lifeboat launched at 1355 to 7mtr Angling boat with fouled propellor North of Montgomery Wreck, 2 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene and took the casualty under tow towards Southend. Casualty handed over to Southend lifeboat at 1445, ILB returned to station at 1535. ESE 3.
26th Sept All Weather lifeboat launched at 1420 to 10mtr cruiser broken down and secured on commercial buoy in Saltpan Reach, 5 persons onboard. ALB on scene, tow secured and casualty towed into Queenborough Harbour, where it was safely secured. Lifeboat returned to station at 1447. NE 2.
28th Sept All weather lifeboat launched at 0217 to 50ft tug broken down and drifting off Gashouse Point, Rochester, 2 persons onboard. ALB stood down at 0226, craft re-gained engine power, ALB returned to station. Estly 2.
28th Sept Inshore lifeboat launched at 0817 to report of person trapped in the mud off Gillingham, CG Teams, Kent Fire/Rescue and Southend Hovercraft proceeding. ILB on scene at 0837, person was safely recovered to the shore by Kent Fire/Rescue, ILB remained in area, whilst Hovercraft recovered mud equipment. ILB returned to station at 1045. Estly 2/3.
3rd October All weather lifeboat launched at 1608 to 28ft Angling Boat broken down and at anchor just East of the Oaze buoy. 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene at 1637, casualty safely under tow at 1645 and towed to Queenborough Harbour. ALB returned to station at 1830. Wstly Lt Airs.
4th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 1419 to report of small dinghy less than 6ft in length drifting upriver off Gillingham Strand,  possibly three persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene at 1437 to find that casualty craft had been towed back to Gillingham Marina pontoon by another craft, all persons safe ashore with CG. ILB released and returned to station at 1543. Estly 2.
13th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 1905 to report of possible body sighted in the River off Gillingham. ILB carried out a thorough search of the river and shoreline, nothing untoward found. ILB returned to station at 2100. Nthly 4.
18th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 0025 to report of a collision between two vessels in Bridge Reach, Rochester. On route, the ILB was asked by the Cg to rendezvous with the Police at Sun Pier, Chatham. ILB checked upon the welfare of the occupant of one vessel, other person of other vessel checked by Police. ILB returned to station at 0325. Nthly 3.
1st November All weather lifeboat launched at 1325 to 31ft Angling Boat broken down with complete electrical failure and at anchor just to the West of the Red Sand Towers, 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene at 1415, casualty safely under tow at 1422 and towed back to Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 1620. Lt Airs, dense fog, visibility less than 1 cable.
6th November Inshore lifeboat launched at 2150 to report of 3 persons believed to have stolen a small craft from Sheerness Seafront.  ILB carried out a thorough search of the area upto 1 mile off shore, nothing found. ILB returned to station at 2309.
12th November Inshore lifeboat launched at 1933 to report of vulnerable person at Rochester, ILB arrived on scene, but unable to reach casualty due to tidal restraints. ILB stood down, incident being dealt with by agencies from shore. ILB back on station at 2050. SW 4.
28th November Inshore lifeboat launched at 1506 to 27ft yacht being escorted by Southend Lifeboat due to adverse weather and crew onboard yacht suffering from sea sickness. ILB was stood down at 1523 due the position and weather.

All weather lifeboat was launched at 1510 and on scene with Southend L/Bat 1525. Two ALB crew transferred to yacht and three persons from the yacht brought onboard the ALB, Yacht escorted into Queenborough harbour, where it was secured. SW 6/7. ALB was then diverted to another incident, a 27ft motor Boat with two persons onboard, unable to make headway in prevailing weather in Four Fathom channel, engine overheating and low on fuel. ALB on scene with casualty at 1747 at Spile buoy, one crewman transferred and casualty safely under tow at 1754, casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 2015. Sw 7 gusting 9.

8th December All weather lifeboat launched at 2205 to Medivac person suffering with burns from craft in Queenborough harbour. Kent Fire & Rescue on scene with their Fire Launch. 19th December Inshore lifeboat crew paged at 1658 to report of 20ft Speedboat broken down and drifting off Bartons Point, Minster, 2 pob. Craft regained power and made it to shore. ILB stood down.
25th December Inshore lifeboat launched at 2142 to 25ft yacht with fouled anchor at Stoke Oaze buoy, yacht was experiencing difficulty making headway in prevailing weather attempting to reach Gillingham. Due to the weather, the larger ALB was launched at 2200 to assist.

ILB on scene at 2205, crew attempted to recover anchor, but cable parted, ILB took casualty under tow and then passed it over to the ALB at 2215. Casualty was towed to the safety of Queenborough harbour, both occupants ok. ILB and ALB returned to station and ready for service at 0001. SW 7/8.

3rd Jan ALB launched at 1320 to a sailboarder in difficulties off Minster, wind gusting 63 knots. ALB onscene at 1329, casualty and his rig recovered, no medical attention required, casualty landed ashore at lifeboat station and ALB RFS at 1420. SSW 8/10.
3rd Jan ALB launched at 1525 after “EPIRB” detected by CG, ALB proceeded up the River Medway to D/F Beacon, joined in search by Medway CG and Rescue Helicopter 125, as the last known hit placed the EPIRB above Rochester bridge, the ALB was released to return. ALB RFS at 1812. SSW 6/7.
21st Jan Relief ILB D-710 on station duties whilst station D-Class goes for refit.
8th Feb ILB launched at 1328 to small dinghy overcome by the weather in Queenborough Hbr, ILB arrived on scene to find the single occupant safe on the ATL berthing head, but unable to get ashore, ILB landed the person and his dinghy ashore at the causeway to Sheppey Cg. ILB RFS at 1406. SW 6/7.
10th Feb ALB launched at 2238 to 28ft Powered boat unable to make headway in weather, 2 persons onboard and position off Shoebury. ALB on scene, but unable to close the craft due to the shallows, Southend L/B placed on standby, but the casualty drifted into deeper water, enabling Sheerness ALB to establish a tow, casualty towed to Queenborough hbr. ALB RFS at 0150. SW 5.
18th Feb Station D-Class D-662 returned to station duties following her refit at ILC.
1st March ILB launched at 2108 to report of Female trapped in the mud at Lower Upnor, River Medway. ILB arrived on scene at 2130, casualty had been recovered by Kent Fire and Rescue and now with Ambulance, ILB released to return to station.  ILB back on station, ready for service at 2230. WNW 2.
13th March ALB launched at 1458 to 32ft Angling Boat broken down and at anchor near West Cant buoy, 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene at 1507, casualty taken under tow for Queenborough harbour, where it was safely secured. ALB returned to station at 1607. ESE 2.
16th March ALB afloat on Sunday morning Training Exercise, when it observed a Sailboarder possibly in difficuties off Bartons Point, ALB proceeded and once on scene, found two Sailboarders struggling to get ashore, both were recovered along with their rigs and landed close to shore and watched until safe ashore, the ALB then resumed it’s exercise. Wstly 5.
19th March ILB launched at 2022 to report of craft aground in Chatham Reach, River Medway, unsure of how many onboard. ILB arrived on scene at 2055, the casualty craft a small yacht with 5 pob and 1 dog was aground opposite Thunderbolt Pier, the ILB crew assisted 1 male and 2 females from the craft to the ILB and then proceeded to the pier to land them. Whilst doing this, the ILB was re-tasked to a report of “cries for help” from the Rochester bridge area, the ILB proceeded and assisted Kent Fire & Rescue in locating and recovering a male from the foreshore. The ILB then returned to the 1st casualty and successfully towed the craft with 2 occupants across to Thunderbolt pier, where it was secured. The ILB finally returned to station at 2330. SW 3/4.
20th March ILB launched at 1342 to a small speedboat reported to be drifting off Minster Shingle bank, reported as 1 person onboard and another person swimming out to craft. ILB arrived on scene at 1351, both persons were onboard the craft, but were both very cold and hypothermic, the ILB landed both the occupants ashore to awaiting ambulance and then towed the craft back to shore. Whitstable L/B and Rescue helicopter 125 also were tasked to the incident. The ILB returned to station at 1450. SW 8/9
23rd March ALB launched at 1310 to 32ft Cabin Cruiser broken down and at anchor just East of Garrison Point, 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene at 1317, tow secured and casualty towed into Queenborough harbour, where it was secured on a mooring. Occupants landed ashore at Sheerness, ALB ready for service at 1413. NW 4.
28th March ILB tasked at 2331 to report of person entering the water at Warden, as ILB was launching at 2341, it was stood down by the CG, person now with Police. Estly 3.
30th March ALB launched at 1210 to 36ft Yacht with alternator failure, at anchor off Southend, 2 persons onboard. ALB arrived on scene, Southend Hovercraft standing by, tow established and casualty towed to a safe mooring in Queenborough Harbour. ALB returned to station at 1430. Estly 2.
30th March ILB launched at 1756 to report of a group of people cut off by the tide off Minster, ILB arrived on scene, persons in no danger and slowly making their way ashore under the observation of Sheppey Cg. ILB returned to station at 1842.
31st March ILB launched at 1835 to report of Red Flare in the Swale off Grovehurst. ILB commenced a search of the Swale through to Harty Ferry, nothing untoward found, ILB released and returned to station at 2000. Estly 1.
14th April ILB launched at 1211 to 19ft Angling Boat broken down and at anchor off Beeness Jetty, River Medway. 2 pob. ILB arrived on scene at 1227 and established a tow, casualty towed to its mooring in Stoke Creek. ILB returned to station at 1358. NNE 4.
15th April ILB launched at 0017 to 24ft Yacht aground on saltings at Slayhills marshes, 3 pob. ILB arrived on scene at 0033 and stood by until there was sufficient water for the craft to refloat, once afloat it was towed clear and towed to Queenborough harbour, where it was safely secured. ILB returned to station at 0255. NNE 4.
17th April ILB launched at 1738 to Rowing Gig reported aground in Shepherd’s Creek on a falling tide, ILB on scene at 1747, one crewman put ashore, who walked across the marsh to the scene, unable to close the casualty due the softness and depth of mud, but contact was made, total of 6 persons onboard, ILB requested helicopter assistance, also Sheppey CG mud rescue team on route. Rescue 125 arrived on scene and by 1853, all 6 persons had been airlifted to the safety of Sheppey Cg, ILB crewman made his way back to the ILB and ILB was back on station at 1945. NW 4
18th April ILB launched at 0326 to 27ft yacht aground close to the seawall SW of Motney Hill. ILB arrived on scene at 0354, casualty hard aground, anchor layed out for casualty, all 3 persons happy to remain onboard until next HW, ILB returned to station at 0453.

18th April ILB launched at 1411 to the 27ft yacht from earlier in day aground at Motney Hill, River Medway. ILB on scene at 1435, laised with Medway Cg, 2 of the yacht’s crew were assisted ashore to Cg and when there was sufficient water, the ILB secured a tow and the craft was towed clear of the shore and towed back to Hoo Marina with the owner onboard the ILB. ILB returned to station at 1725. NE 3/4.
19th April ILB launched at 0433 to 32ft Motor Sailer aground on marshes at Burntwick island, 2 pob. ILB arrived on scene at 0455, craft well aground, ILB crew deployed anchor for the craft and took one of the crew off, leaving the owner onboard. ILB released at 0515, returning to station with one person. ILB back on station at 0620. NNE 5.
19th April ALB launched at 1500 to the 32ft Motor Sailer aground on marshes Burntwick Island, ALB on scene at 1516, XP boat deployed to the casualty, craft still well aground, the ALB attempted to tow the craft off over the HW, but due to lesser height on the HW, the attempt had to be abandoned, the owner was evacuated from the craft back to the ALB and with all equipment recovered, the ALB was released. ALB back on station at 1735. Estly 5.
26th April ALB launched at 0136 to 9 mtr Fishing vessel with propulsion problem engaged in fishing in the Sea Reach channel, 1 person onboard. Fishing gear still on the sea bed, ALB arrived on scene, placed crewman onboard and established tow, casualty vessel was slowly brought round into the tide and wind, so that fishing gear could be recovered and then towed back into Queenborough Harbour. ALB returned to station at 0342. Sthly 2/3.
2nd May ALB launched at 1144 to 40ft Motor Cruiser with steering failure and anchored off

St Mary’s bay, North shore of Isle of Grain, 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene at 1215, tow established and casualty safely towed to Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 1430. NNE 4/5.

4th May ILB launched at 1736 to 20ft Angling Boat with one person onboard, broken down near Grain Hard buoy, ILB arrived on scene and towed the casualty craft to Queenborough Harbour. ILB returned to station at 1838. Estly 2/3.
17th May ILB Crew paged at 1922 to report of person swimming across the river at Chatham, ILB stood down at 1933 as crew were embarking, Person reported safe ashore.
19th May ILB and ALB Lifeboats both launched at 1719 to a 59ft Narrowboat aground on forseshore at Isle of Grain, 1 person onboard, the ALB had to stand off in deeper water, whlst the ILB managed to close the casualty and secure a tow, the ILB successfully towed the casualty out into deeper water, where the ALB was stood off and passed the tow, the ALB towed the casualty into Queenborough harbour, the ILB returned to station at 1815 and the ALB at 1912. ESE 4.
24th May ILB launched at 1645 to report of small Dayboat in trouble off Minster. ILB arrived on scene, the craft with 2 persons onboard in no danger and awaiting enough water to recover onto their trailer. ILB returned to station at 1733. Nthly 3.
24th May ILB and ALB launched at 2010/2013 to report of Narrowboat thought to be in trouble off Hoo Island, River Medway. ILB arrived on scene and assisted the casualty in mooring up to Chatham Maritime Marina pontoon. The ALB was stood down and returned to station at 2122, the ILB returned to station at 2149. SSW 4.
27th May ILB launched at 2108 to numerous reports of Red Flares reported above Rochester Bridge, ILB carried out thorough search of river up to North Halling, whilst CG, Police and Fire Service carried out search of river bank, nothing found, ILB was released and returned to station at 2352. NNW 4.
5th June ILB tasked at 1708 to Narrowboat reported to have broken down and being set down by tide onto M2 Motorway Bridge, ILB cancelled at 1716, casualty being assisted by another local craft.
8th June ILB launched at 1450 to small Cruiser, broken down and anchor, North of the Mid Cant Beacon, 3 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene, tow established and casualty taken under tow for Saltpan Reach, River Medway, where it was handed over to another motor cruiser for the tow upriver to Cuxton, ILB returned to station at 1650. Estly 2/3.
12th June ILB launched at 2115 to small Hovercraft with 2 persons onboard, broken down near No 16 buoy, River Medway, ILB arrived on scene, owner attempting to effect a repair to faulty wiring, casualties engine re-started and escorted by ILB to Gillingham. ILB returned to station at 2226. SSE 2.
14th June ILB launched at 1346 to 28ft Motor Cruiser broken down with 3 persons onboard, uncertain of position, after comms with a fishing boat, the casualty was located near the W.Nore Sand buoy, the ILB arrived on scene, the casualty being taken under tow from the fishing boat back to Southend, ILB returned to station at 1500. Estly 2/3.
16th June ALB launched at 1155 to 36ft Steel Yacht with 1 person onboard, out of fuel and at anchor between the Mid Swatch and W.Nore Sand buoys, ALB arrived on scene at 1210, tow established and casualty towed to a safe mooring in Hadleigh Ray to await a tow back to his mooring. ALB returned to station at 1355. Nthly 3.
17th June ILB crew paged 0857 for report of adistressed owner, with dog which had been in the sea for over half an hour, ILB stood down 0900, dog and owner re-united.
20th June ILB launched at 1622 to report of swimmer lost from sight off Sheppey Yacht club, ILB stood down a few minutes later, swimmer safe ashore further along the beach, ILB re-housed at 1637.
3rd July ILB tasked at 1746 to swimmer reported in difficulties off Sheerness seafront, ILB stood down at 1748, swimmer safe ashore.
3rd July ILB launched at 1836 to report of 2 sailboarder in trouble off Minster Leas, ILB stood down at 1839, casualties being assisted ashore by speedboat in area. ILB rehoused, ready for service at 1910. SW 5.
13th July ILB launched at 1530 to 19ft speedboat broken down and at anchor off Sheerness seafront, 2 persons onboard. ILB on scene at 1535, casualty taken under tow for Allhallows slipway, where it was safely landed for occupants to recover. ILB returned to station at 1647. Wstly 3.
14th July ILB launched at 1519 to report of inflatable being blown out to sea off Minster. ILB on scene at 1529, object turned out be a bunch of helium balloons, ILB recovered and returned to station at 1605. SW 3.
14th July ALB launched at 2014 to 27ft Motorboat broken down and at anchor, South of Red Sand Towers, one person onboard. ALB on scene at 2043, crewman placed onboard and tow established, casualty towed to Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 2340. SW 4/5.
23rd July ILB launched at 2233 to report of missing vulnerable person near M2 Bridge at Rochester. ILB was stood down in Chatham Reach at 2258, person found safe and well ashore. ILB returned to station at 2355. NE 4/5
24th July ALB launched at 1719 to report of dinghy drifting South of Sea Reach No4, unsure if anyone onboard. ALB located dinghy at 1733, dinghy in derelict condition, taken onboard ALB, which returned to station at 1815. NE 4/5.
25th July ALB launched at 0540 to 24ft yacht aground on Maplin Sands, 1 person onboard. ALB arrived on scene at 0620, insuffcient water for ALB to close, so the XP daughter boat was deployed with 2 crew and tow line taken across to casualty. Casualty was re-floated, but due to a damaged rudder, was towed into Queenborough Harbour, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 1015. NE 3.
26th July ALB launched at 1547 to report of Red Flare sighted between Sheerness and Red Sand Towers, having commenced the search, the ALB was diverted at 1600 to a 15ft Speedboat reported drifting with 3 pob off Medway Channel, ALB arrived on scene and secured a tow until the arrival of Sheerness ILB, which took over the tow and towed the speedboat to Kingsferry bridge where it was secured, (the ILB returned to station at 1835). The ALB resumed its search at 1647, proceeding to S.Shoebury buoy to the Oaze Bank then to the Spile buoy before returning via across the Cant, with nothing found, Whitstable and Southend lifeboats and Rescue 125 also involved in search. The ALB returned to station at 1802. Estly Light Airs.
26th July ALB launched at 2236 to 10mtr German Yacht broken down in Sheerness harbour with 2 pob. The ALB arrived on scene and secured the casualty alongside and towed the casualty into Queenborough harbour, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 2336. Estly Light Airs.
29th July ALB launched at 0615 to 22ft Yacht broken down and unable to sail in prevailing weather, 2 pob. Position given as North of Spile buoy. ALB arrived on scene, nothing seen, lifeboat in contact with casualty and attempted D/F, but poor signal. Casualty was requested to fire a flare, which was seen to the East in the Four Fathom channel. ALB arrived on scene, one person taken onboard lifeboat and casualty taken in tow. Casualty secured in Queenborough harbour, occupants of yacht landed ashore and lifeboat ready for service at 0955. NNW 4/5.
1st Aug ALB launched at 1655 to 60ft Dutch barge out of fuel and at anchor near the Blacktail Spit, 2 persons onboard. ALB arrived on scene and took the casualty under tow for the Medway, the casualty was safely secured alongside at 2020 at Gillingham marina fuel berth. ALB returning down river to assist ILB with small dinghy in trouble at Oakhamness, ALB on scene at 2043, ILB transferred two persons and dinghy to ALB. casualties landed ashore at Sheerness at 2105, ALB ready for service at 2205. SW 3.
1st Aug ILB launched at 2019 to small dinghy in difficulties near Oakhamness jetty, 2 pob. ILB on scene at 2031, one crewman put ashore and successfully managed to drag the small inflatable to the waters edge, ILB then towed the dinghy out to ALB and transferred the occupants and dinghy. ILB returned to station at 2205. SW 3.
3rd Aug ILB launched at 1712 to 25ft Motor Cruiser broken down in Saltpan Reach, River Medway, 4 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene and established a tow, casualty was then towed to safe mooring in Queenborough Hbr, ILB released at 1817 and re-tasked to powerboat broken down off Minster, 3 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene, casualty towed back to Sheppey Yacht Club. ILB returned to station at 1940. SW 4/5.
10th Aug ILB launched at 1505 to Sailboarder in difficulties off Minster, Lifeguard gone out assist, but unable to get casualty ashore. ILB on scene, recovered casualty and lifeguard and landed them both ashore to CG, no medical attention required. ILB then recovered casualties rig. ILB returned to station at 1615. SW 8.
13th Aug ILB launched at 1610 to report of Two Children cut off by the tide at Hoo Marina. ILB was stood down at 1615, children recovered safely by Medway CG. ILB returned to station at 1630. Wstly 4.
16th Aug ILB and ALB both tasked at 1731 to report of vulnerable person missing at Minster, all SAR units stood down at 1742, person found safe and well.
16th Aug ILB launched at 1743 to canoe with 2 occupants unable to paddle back to the shore at Nore Marsh, River Medway. ILB on scene at 1808, adult and child taken onboard ILB and canoe taken in tow for Riverside country park, where they were landed to CG. ILB returned to station at 1847. Wstly 4.  ILB was then placed on standby as report of person in the water off seafront was received, ILB stood down, when it was confirmed as a false alarm.
18th Aug ALB launched at 0720 to 26ft Yacht with 2 persons onboard, pinned against the upstream end of Thamesport Container jetty following machinery failure. ALB on scene and casualty towed clear of jetty, tow re-secured and casualty towed into Queenborough Harbour. ALB returned to station at 0840. Wstly 5.
23rd Aug ILB launched at 1439 to report of broken down speedboat with 1 person onboard, drifting onto Burntwick Island, ILB stood down at 1542, casualty being assisted by Kent Police RIB. WNW 4.
24th Aug ILB launched at 2103 to report of vulnerable person entered the water at Rochester. ILB stood down at 2121, when it was confirmed, the person had been recovered and safe ashore, ILB returned to station at 2148. SW 2.
27th Aug ALB launched at 1656 to a 35ft Motor Cruiser with one person onboard, suffered machinery failure in vicinity of the Shivering Sand Towers. ALB on scene at 1739, tow established and casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 2115. Estly 4/5.

5th Sept ALB crew paged at 2020 to “Epirb” hit by CG in River Medway, the source of the “Epirb” was located and unit turned off, crew stood down before launching.

10th Sept ILB launched at 1228 to same yacht from previous day, being blown onto disused jetty in Queenborough Harbour, ILB on scene and secured a tow, casualty towed back onto safe mooring and owner taken ashore and handed over to CG. ILB returned to station at 1328. Estly 4.
11th Sept ILB launched at 0053 to assist Kent Police in search for vulnerable person missing on seafront, ILB commenced saerch at 0058. Search terminated at 0123, person found safe ashore. ILB returned to station at 0152. Estly 2.
14th Sept ILB launched at 1143 to 24ft Yacht with 2 persons onboard, unable to motor or sail against strong flood tide and wind and being blown onto a lee shore near Kingsnorth jetty, ILB secured a tow and towed the casualty back to it’s berth in Gillingham Marina. 27th Sept ILB launched at 2005 to report of small craft flashing lights under Garrison Point, ILB investigated craft, small craft at anchor with two pob, happily fishing, no assistance required. ILB returned to station at 2030. SE Lt Airs.
29th Sept ILB launched at 1400 to assist Kent Police in search for persons missing, possibly entered the water at Cuxton, Rochester. ILB carried out search along with CG, Police, Rescue 125. Search terminated, when advised by Kent Police all persons believed accounted for ashore. ILB returned to station at 1620. SW 1.
1st Oct ILB launched at 1657 to small inflatable dinghy with outboard failure, 2 persons onboard, off Minster Leas. ILB arrived on scene and towed the casualty craft back to the Shingle Bank and handed them over to Sheppey CG. ILB returned to station at 1740. Wstly 2.
17th Oct ILB launched at 2304 to report of Red Flares sighted off Chatham Historic Dockyard, River Medway. ILB carried out exhaustive search of the river, nothing untoward found. ILB returned to station at 0123. SW 2.
18th Oct ALB launched at 1008 to 28ft Cruiser broken down with 2 pob in Kethole Reach, River Medway, craft at anchor. ALB on scene, crewman placed onboard and tow secured. Unable to recover casualties anchor due to be fouled on seabed, anchor cable cut and casualty towed to Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 1206. SW 6.
18th Oct ILB launched at 2047 followed by ALB at 2117 to 23ft yacht with fuel problem in Medway Approach channel, two persons onboard, casualty taken under tow by ALB into Queenborough harbour, where it was secured. Both lifeboats returned to station at 2303. SW 2.
1st Nov ILB launched at 1005 to broken down small Hovercraft with two persons onboard, casualty unsure of position, ILB carried out search of River and eventually located the casualty inside Burntwick island, craft towed clear of the mud, the two occupants were taken onboard the ILB and taken to Gillingham Marina suffering from the cold. The ILB returned to craft and took it under tow for Sheerness, where it was secured on the slip at 1236. SW 3. ILB was re-tasked to another incident at 1237.
1st Nov ILB re-launched at 1245 after quickly re-fuelling to Medivac an injured person from a yacht moored off Gillingham. ILB on scene and initial assessment made, ILB required further assistance of Ambulance Paramedic’s with drugs to evacuate person, this was successfully done and injured person evacuated to Ambulance at Gillingham marina. ILB returned to station at 1548. SW 3.
9th Nov ILB launched at 2038 to report of an injured person onboard a Tug in Rochester. ILB arrived on scene and embarked a Paramedic and taken out to casualty, the person was not injured, but in a distressed state, casualty persuaded to go ashore to awaiting Ambulance, person landed ashore and ILB returned to station. SSE 3.
21st Nov ILB launched at 0203 to vulnerable person at Rochester, Police, Ambulance & CG in attendance, ILB arrived on scene, but were stood down, when person handed there selves over to the Authorities, ILB returned to station at 0345. Estly 1/2.
30th Nov ILB launched at 1613 to small 16ft Angling Boat with 2 persons onboard broken down with flat battery near Colemouth Creek, River Medway. ILB assisted craft and returned to station at 1800. Nthly 4.
2nd Dec ILB launched at 2043 to 10 mtr Angling Boat, which had lost all power and drifted ashore in entrance of Stangate Creek, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and managed to secure a line and tow casualty clear of shore, but due to the weather and tonnage of casualty the ALB was launched at 2110 to take over the tow, ALB arrived on scene, tow passed over and casualty towed to Queenborough harbour. Both lifeboats back on station and ready for service at 2233. Nthly 6.

15th Jan ILB launched to Wildfowler cut off by the tide on marshy outcrop off Stoke Creek, ILB safely recovered the person and his dog,  both landed ashore to Medway CG at Stoke. 1444 – 1550. NW 4.
27th Jan ILB launched to 3 canoeists reported in difficulties at Nore marsh, River Medway. The ILB arrived on scene and located the canoeists ashore on Nore marsh, the 3 persons were taken onboard the ILB and transported ashore to Gillingham riverside country park, the canoe being secured on Nore marsh by the owner, to be recovered later. 1245 -1408.

27th Jan ILB re-tasked at 1408 to report of persons trapped in the mud at base of Minster Cliffs. ILB arrived on scene and updated the location to CG, crew went ashore to assist where possible until CG and Fire/Rescue teams arrived with mud equipment, one person later being airlifted by CG Helio. 1408 – 1550. Wstly 6.
10th Feb ALB launched to report of 18 mtr Dutch barge on fire near Shellhaven with 3 pob. Gravesend L/B proceeding, ALB arrived on scene at 1042, Gravesend L/B had 3 casualties onboard and craft in tow away from oil jetties at Shellhaven. ALB secured tow and took the 3 persons onboard, no medical attention req’d, casualty vessel was towed to Denton wharf Gravesend, where upon arrival, Kent Fire/Rescue checked to ensure the vessel was safe. ALB returning to station. 1014 – 1320. SE 4/5.
2nd March ILB launched to report of two girls cut off by the tide at base of cliffs at Warden Point. ILB on scene at 1455, the two girls were taken onboard the ILB and landed further along beach into the care of Sheppey CG, the ILB returned to station at 1520, ready for service at 1547.  1430 – 1547. Estly 2.
15th March ILB launched at 0558 to 25ft Cruiser reported to be sinking off Kingsnorth with 2 pob, on route to casualty, further information was received and casualties position updated as aground on Grain Edge. ILB returned to area and located casualty, one lady carried from casualty across the mud to ILB and male assisted to ILB, anchor placed out for casualty and occupants of craft brought ashore to Boathouse. 0558 – 0706. SW 4.
19th March ALB launched to medivac sick crewmember with severe stomach pains from bulk carrier “Orient Trader” in Zulu 6 anchorage, off Southend. Casualty safely embarked and landed ashore to Ambulance at Sheerness. 1452 – 1554. ESE 2.
21st March ALB launched to medivac crewmember with chemical burns to face from M/V “Sea Charente” between Sea Reach 7 & 4, ALB on scene, person taken off vessel and treated, whilst on route to Southend pier, where he was landed ashore via the Southend Lifeboat. 1334 – 1435. SE 4.
22nd March Relief Lifeboat 14-15 on station duties.
23rd March George & Ivy Swanson” 14-13 sailed for Ballyhack, Ireland for refit.
12th April ILB launched at 0813 to report of craft unmanned with outboard still running jammed in entrance of Chatham commercial locks, ILB arrived on scene, checked craft and made safe, before carrying out search of river along with CG shore teams and Coastguard rescue helicopter. The search was terminated and ILB returned to station at 1220. SSW 4.
(It was later discovered that craft had been broken into and set free).
19th April ILB launched at 0732 to 15ft dayboat with one person onboard, broken down with gearbox failure and at anchor off entrance to Queenborough. ILB secured a tow and casualty towed to all tide landing and handed over to Sheppey CG. ILB RFS at 0834.

21st April ILB diverted from training exercise at 1144 to carry out search of foreshore for missing person in Swale near Faversham creek, shortly after commencing their search, the ILB was stood down at 1201 and released to continue exercise. Estly 1.
21st April ILB diverted from exercise again at 1302 to16ft Dayboat broken down in Sheerness harbour with 2 pob. ILB towed the casualty into Queenborough hbr, where it was secured, ILB returned to station at 1352. Estly 1.
29th April ILB launched at 1257 to report of person in the water off Esplanade pontoons, Rochester. ILB arrived on scene and recovered body from the water and handed over to Police & CG. ILB returned to station at 1531. Wstly 3/4.
2nd May ALB launched to 31ft Angling Boat with broken rudder at anchor near SW Barrow Buoy, 2 pob, one of which was being violently sea sick, Southend L/B also tasked. ALB arrived on scene shortly after southend, one crewman transferred and tow established for Southend, Southend returned to pier with one person from vessel. ALB transferred the tow back to Southend at 1303 and ALB returned to station at 1315. ENE 5.
3rd May ILB launched at 1523 to report of inflatable drifting off Allhallows,  Southend Hovercraft also proceeding. ILB unable to close casualty due to insuffient water. Southend hovercraft approached casualty, 2 occupants in a kayak quite happy angling, units stood down. ILB returned to station at 1625. Estly 1/2.
10th May ILB launched at 0509 to person threatening to jump from Rochester bridge, ILB arrived on scene and stood by whilst Police unit negotiated with the person. The ILB was stood down, when the person was safely removed from bridge. ILB returned to station at 0659. SW 5.
25th May ILB launched at 1502 to report of “Fletcher” speedboat broken down off Motney Hill, River Medway, 2 pob. ILB stood down at 1508, casualty reported to be high and dry  with no chance of  refloating until next tide. ILB back on station on 1515, RFS at 1526.

25th May ILB launched at 1716 to motorboat, reported to have engine failure off entrance Queenborough Hbr, casualty located aground on mudflats off Deadman’s Island,  ILB crew and Cg tried to persuade the two occupants to come off the craft, but they refused and wished to remain onboard, with little else that could be done, the ILB returned to station at 1800. Nthly 2.
26th May ILB launched at 1239 to report of Kayak drifting in Queenborough Hbr. ILB arrived on scene at 1245 and recovered kayak, after investigation & further info, it appeared the kayak had drifted away from owner ashore on Deadman’s island, the owner re-united with his kayak and alls well. ILB returned to station at 1340. NW 1.
26th May ALB launched to medivac young person from training vessel in Sheerness hbr with dislocated knee, ALB on scene at 1524, after treating, casualty was transferred via stretcher to ALB and landed to waiting ambulance at Sheerness. ALB returned to station at 1634. NW 1/2.
8th June ILB launched at 1320 to 14ft Speedboat broken down near Long Point, Queenborough hbr, 1 person onboard. ILB located casualty and towed the craft back to Queenborough creek. ILB returned to station at 1425. Estly 5.
10th June ILB launched at 2010 to report of craft aground off Darnettness in South Yantlet creek, ILB arrived on scene, nothing visual, further info from CG, craft possibly near Hoo Island, ILB investigated and found un-seaworthy craft on mudflats, crew checked Hoo Island, nothing untoward. ILB returned to station at 2158. SE 1.
11th June ILB launched at 1252 to report of yacht in collision with Kingsnorth jetty, no further info, Port Authority Patrol craft also proceeding, who arrived on scene first, casualty, a yacht, all ok, had dragged anchor onto jetty, no injuries or damage sustained.
ILB returned to station at 1343. SW 4.
15th June ILB crew paged at 1200 for Windsurfer in trouble off Minster, ILB stood down before launching.
19th June All Weather lifeboat “George and Ivy Swanson” returned to station following her refit.
20th June ILB launched at 1512 to person trapped in the mud off Medway Bridge marina, Rochester. The ILB was stood down at 1522, when it was confirmed that the person had been recovered by Kent Fire & Rescue. ILB returned to station at 1552. Estly 2.
22nd June ILB launched at 1934 to small 15ft Dayboat broken down at Kingsferry Bridge, with 2 pob. ILB arrived on scene and secured tow, casualty towed back across river to it’s moorings, the two occupants happy to remain onboard. ILB returnined to station at 2052..

29th June ILB launched at 0624 to 24ft motor sailer broken down off Conyer Creek with 1 person onboard. ILB arrived on scene, casualty high and dry, upon investigation, prop shaft had broken away from gearbox, owner happy to remain onboard until next HW, where workboat would tow him in. ILB returned to station at 0745. NW
29th June ILB paged at 1505, craft thought to be in trouble off Minster. Launch cancelled at 1506.
30th June ALB launched at 1350 to 26ft  Trimaran  making water North of Montgomery wreck, 3 pob, Yacht club safety boats and Southend lifeboat on scene. ALB arrived on scene and two crew and salvage pump deployed. Craft pumped dry and split in stem of stbd hull covered with survivor blanket and tape, casualty was then taken in tow towards the Leigh buoy, where it was handed back over to Southend L/B for the last leg to it’s mooring. Sheerness ALB returned to station at 1600. Wstly 4.
2nd July ILB launched at 2150 to report of Red Flare over Gillingham Strand area, ILB arrived on scene and carried out search of river, nothing untowards found. ILB returned to station at 2332. WSW 2.
3rd July ILB launched at 1705 to report of person stuck in the mud at Strood. ILB arrived on scene, CG, Police, Kent Fire & rescue and rescue 125 also on scene, person was extradited from the mud by Fire & rescue service. ILB stood down and returned to station at 1855. Wstly 2.
7th July ILB launched at 1533 to 15ft Dayboat broken down near Montgomery Wreck with 2 pob. ILB arrived on scene and tow passed, casualty towed back to the Shingle bank at Minster, so craft could be recovered. ILB returned to station at 1637. Estly 3.
8th July ILB launched at 0714 to 39ft Belgium Yacht  aground on Grain Spit with 6 pob. ILB arrived on scene and secured a tow and then held the casualties bow head to sea until there was enough water to refloat casualty, once safely afloat, the craft resumed it’s passage to London. ILB returned to station at 0854. NE 4.
8th July ILB launched at 1325 to report of two Kayakers in trouble in Queenborough hbr. ILB check the harbour, nothing seen, ILB located the Kayakers safe and well in Queenborough creek, after giving safety advice, the ILB returned to station at 1418. ENE 4
8th July ALB launched at 2012 to 28ft Yacht  broken down and now at anchor on a lee shore between Mid Swatch buoy and the W.Nore sand buoy, 2 pob. ALB arrived on scene at 2027, tow line passed and casualty raised his anchor, casualty safely under tow at 2035, bound for Queenborough. Casualty safely secured at 2132, ALB returned to station at 2220. Estly 5.
11th July ALB launched at 2210 to 39ft Belgium yacht  disabled with machinery failure, South of Sea Reach No 5 buoy, 6 pob. ALB arrived on scene and established a tow. Casualty taken under tow to Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured at 2355. ALB returned to station at 0050. Estly 4.
15th July ILB launched at 1725 to assist in search for vulnerable female along Sheerness seafront eastwards to Minster. ILB commenced search Eastwards, but was stood down at 1746, when person was safe with Police. ILB returned to station at 1825. SE 2.
16th July ILB launched at 1554 to report of person in the water and holding onto a dinghy with another person onboard, tug “Racia” standing by, however on route, the tug reported that both persons now onboard the dinghy and underway for Gillingham. ILB returned to station at 1627. Estly 2.
18th July ILB launched at 1220 to report of person climbing the barrier on M2 Motorway bridge, ILB arrived on scene and carried out thorough search of river along with CG units ashore, nothing untoward found. ILB returned to station at 1423. ESE 4.
21st July ILB on upriver navigation exercise, when it came across the 6mtr motorboat “Double Trouble” with machinery failure, 2 pob, ILB towed the casualty to Chatham Maritime marina and then continued on with exercise. NE 3.
21st July ILB launched at 2103 to report of small inflatable in trouble off Minster with 3 pob. ILB was stood down at 2104, craft safe ashore, ILB recovered and re-housed at 2109. NE 3.
24th July ILB diverted from exercise at 2003 to assist in search for two Jet skiers aground in Swale. Casualties located off Wellmarsh creek, one was assisted to safety by Sheppey CG, the other by ILB, who landed him at Kingsferry Bridge pontoon. ILB returned to station at 2230. Wstly 2.
26th July ILB launched at 2030 to 15ft Speedboat broken down in swale with 2 pob, ILB was stood down at 2046, Police RIB on scene and towing casualty back to shore. ILB returned to station at 2113. SE 2.
27th July ILB paged at 1730 to 17ft Dayboat, 2 pob, aground in Swale, launch cancelled at 1733, casualty being assisted by another craft.
28th July ALB launched at 0315 to Yacht, 4 pob, aground on Maplin sands, Southend L/B on scene and taken two children and 1 female off. ALB rendezvoused with the Southend  L/B at South Shoebury buoy, the two children and one adult were taken onboard and taken back to Southend Pier, where they were safely landed, with no further assistance required, the ALB returned to station at 0535. WSW 4/5.
28th July ILB launched at 1650 to report of 3 persons in the water off Royal engineers jetty at Upnor, ILB stood down at 1654, persons safely recovered by passing craft. ILB recovered and ready for service at 1709. SSW 4/5.
29th July ALB launched at 1135 to recover yacht from near Red Sand towers, two persons from craft already been taken ashore by Whitstable L/B suffering from severe sea sickness. ALB arrived on scene and one crewman placed onboard, tow established, but due to the severity of the weather and size of craft, only slow progress was made, one further crewman and salvage pump was placed onboard, when the craft was shipping a lot of water. The casualty was eventually secured in Queenborough hbr at 1445 and finally pumped dry. ALB released at 1510. SW 7.
29th July ALB re-tasked at 1515 to 8 mtr cruiser reported to be experiencing heavy weather off Southend, with 2 adults and 3 children onboard, some of which were suffering from sea sickness. Casualty located close inshore to the west of the Pier, casualty advised to steam out to ALB and then escorted into the lee of the pierhead, where assessments were made of the occupants condition’s. 1 adult & 3 children were taken onboard the ALB, whilst two ALB crew were placed on the casualty, which was then escorted back to Queenborough hbr, where it was safely moored and occupants landed ashore. ALB returned to station at 1755. SW 7.
1st Aug ALB crew paged at 1800 to assist in search for person in the water off Neptune terrace, Whitstable, Whitstable l/B on restricted service. ALB launched cancelled at 1808, person found safe and well ashore. Crew returned to pagers at 1822. Sthly 2.
12th August ALB launched at 1340 to Cruiser with 2 pob, broken down and at anchor just South of East Blyth buoy, ALB arrived on scene and tow established, casualty towed back to the safety of Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1601. Wstly 4.
13th August ALB launched at 1035 to 27ft yacht  with 4 pob, reported aground with machinery failure and jammed sails on Maplin Sands. ALB arrived on scene at 1125, casualty approx 1.5 NM North of Maplin Bell buoy, insuffient water for ALB to close at this time, ALB re-positioned to the NE and slowly worked it’s way into the casualty, arriving alongside at 1215. A tow was established and casualty towed out around the sand into deeper water, casualty eventually secured in Queenborough hbr at 1450. ALB returned to station at 1519. NW 3.

16th Aug ILB launched at 1645 to the 20ft motorboat from earlier in day, craft now afloat, but outboard defective. ILB on scene at 1710, casualty taken in tow for Gillingham marina, where it was safely secured at 1753. ILB returned to station at 1842. SW 3.
17th Aug ILB launched at 1305 to report of two Kayakers in trouble off Barton’s Point. ILB on scene at 1312, both kayaks rafted together and owners quite happy fishing, no assistance required. ILB returned to station at 1340. SW 4/5.
17th Aug ILB launched at 1620 to17ft sailing yacht with two persons onboard, reported aground near Beeness. ILB on scene at 1641, casualty aground in entrance of Stoke creek, ILB established tow and casualty towed clear of mud and then to Queenborough hbr, where it was secured on a mooring. The two occupants landed ashore. ILB returned to station at 1833. SW 5.
21st Aug ALB launched at 1550 to 29ft Yacht “My Escape” with overheating engine and unable to shut engine off, 2 pob, casualty just off entrance to lower camber. ALB on scene 1553, crewman transferred, engine shut down and casualty towed to Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1730. Wstly 2.
25th Aug ILB diverted from exercise at 1121 to 28ft Yacht reported adrift Off Harty Ferry in the Swale. Craft could be a danger to navigation. ILB arrived on scene at 1219, casualty aground on sea wall and had been made secured. ILB released and returned to station at 1358. Estly 4.
30th Aug ILB launched at 2054 to report of Red Flares sighted off Grain Shore, ILB commenced search of Grain shore around to the London Stone and back into the Medway up to Elphinstone Point, nothing untoward seen, ILB released at 2208, ILB back on station at 2235. SW 4.
7th Sept ILB launched at 1352 to report of person in the water opposite Chatham marina, on route to scene, unconfirmed reports were received that person was back onboard his yacht. ILB arrived on scene at 1422 and confirmed that person was ok, no medical attention required, ILB released at 1432. On route downriver, ILB sighted dinghy washed ashore on Hoo island, no persons involved, ILB re-secured dinghy on mooring. In Sheerness Harbour, at approx 1530, the ILB went to a small sailing dinghy, which was taking part in the ‘round the island race’, the dinghy had capsized several times and one of the crew was exhausted and very cold, the ILB took the person onboard and brought him back to the Lifeboat station, where he was warmed up. The dinghy continued with the race under the watchful eye of a safety boat. ILB ready for service at 1605. WSW 5.
8th Sept ALB launched at 2000 to 10mtr Angling Boat “Maud”, broken down and at anchor, reported off Cheyney rocks, 2 pob, nothing found in this position, casualty fired Red Flares to pinpoint position and casualty located near Spile buoy, two crew transferred to casualty and craft taken in tow for Queenborough harbour, where it was secured at 2215. ALB returned to station at 2236.     NW 3.
10th Sept ALB launched at 1251 to Cruiser ‘ Last Waltz’ broken down and unsure of position in Rvr Medway, 1 pob, ALB located casualty in entrance of Queenborough hbr dragging anchor. Casualty in shallow water, tow established and casualty towed into deeper water and secured on visitors mooring, occupant taken onboard and landed ashore at Sheerness. ALB ready for service at 1400. NW 5.
10th Sept ILB launched at 1642 to report of person in the water off Beach street, Sheerness, ILB commenced search at 1645 and joined by Rescue 104 and Sheerness ALB, CG units searching shore. Search terminated at 1735, possible false alarm. ILB ready for service at 1800. NW 5.

19th Sept ALB launched at 1350 to 29ft yacht “Inyanga” , anchored in entrance of Stangate creek, unable to start engine and unable to sail in present conditions, 2 adults and 1 child onboard. ALB arrived on scene and established a tow and casualty towed to visitors mooring in Queenborough hbr, occupants landed ashore to CG. ALB returned to station at 1525. SW 5/6.
21st Sept ILB launched at 1648 to two Jet skiers reported broken down in Sheerness harbour near ex tug moorings. ILB located casualties ashore on Deadmans Island, due to tide, jet skis had to be left ashore secured, the two occupants were taken onboard ILB and landed ashore at Kingsferry  Bridge pontoon to Cg. ILB ready for service at 1820. SW 3.
27th Sept ILB launched at 1156 to 25ft Yacht “Salty Dog” aground in the Swale, CG concerned for their safety. ILB on scene at 1223, ILB crew had to walk across the mud to the casualty, both occupants safe and well, ILB crew laid out anchor for craft, occupants happy to remain onboard until next HW. ILB returned to station at 1327. Estly 4/5.
3rd Oct ALB launched at 1932 to 10mtr Fishing vessel “Louise” broken down between Warden Point and Spile buoy, 2 pob. ALB on scene at 1958, tow established and casualty towed to Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 2147. SSE 3.
6th Oct ILB launched at 0217 to 18ft Dayboat with one person onboard, broken down and at anchor near No30 buoy. ILB located casualty and safely towed the craft to Gillingham marina. ILB returned to station at 0355. NW Lt Airs.
6th Oct ILB launched at 1857 to 27ft Yacht “Citara” reported to be aground near Kingsferry bridge. ILB arrived in area, nothing scene, further info received placed casualty further East in the swale. After firing illuminating flares, the casualty was located aground near No 2 buoy. Crewmember walked across mud to craft and the 3 occupants happy to remain onboard until next HW. ILB returned to station at 2055. SW 1/2.
22nd Oct ILB launched at 1840 to report of vulnerable personon Kingsferry Bridge, ILB arrived on scene at 1852 and sttod by under bridge. ILB released at 1908, when it was confirmed person had been found safe at Queenborough, RFS at 1938. Sthly 4/5.
26th Oct ALB launched at 1208 to 22ft yacht with 1 person onboard, reportably unable to control his vessel and not sure of his position. ALB proceeded to possible craft sighted approx one and half miles East of the Spile buoy. ALB on scene, craft confirmed as the casualty, one crewman placed onboard and craft taken under tow, due to sea sickness, the owner was taken off and a second crewman placed onboard the yacht along with a pump, the casualty was towed into Queenborough hbr and secured. ALB RFS at 1540. SW 6/7 gusting 8.
3rd Nov ILB launched at 1155 to kayaker at anchor and unable to paddle back to the shore off Grain Spit, ILB arrived on scene and took the Kayaker in tow and landed him ashore at Grain Shore. ILB RFS at 1300. Wstly 6/7.
4th Nov ILB launched at 1510 to small dinghy with 2 occupants drifted down Gillingham Reach and now secured to a beacon after their outboard failed, ILB on scene, persons taken onboard and craft towed back to gillingham strand. ILB RFS at 1700. NW 4/5.
14th Nov ILB launched at 1229 to sailboarder in difficulties off Minster leas after suffering rig failure, ILB arrived on scene to find casualty being assisted ashore by another sailboarder. ILB RFS at 1325. NW 6/7.

22nd Dec ILB launched at 1713 to small dayboat reported to have run aground on wreck off Hoo Island, 2 persons onboard, whilst on passage to casualty, it was reported they freed their craft and now going ashore. ILB RFS at 1810. SW 3.
29th Dec ILB launched at 1757 to small 16ft dayboat broken down off Elphinstone Point, 3 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and took the casualty in tow for their mooring at Kingsferry bridge, where it was secured and persons landed ashore. SW 2/3.

1st January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0426 to a vulnerable person threatening to jump from the Swale Crossing at Kingsferry, ILB arrived on scene and stood by, whilst police negotiated with the person. The person eventually left the bridge with police. ILB returned to station at 0535. wind WSW F3.
6th January Inshore lifeboat launched at 2027 to person threatening to jump from Rochester bridge, the ILB reached as far as Kingsnorth before being recalled, person safe in Police custody. ILB returned to station at 2123. wind WSW F3/4.
12th January Inshore lifeboat launched at 1424 to windsurfer in difficulties off Shingle bank, Minster, ILB arrived on scene with casualty approx quarter of a mile offshore, casualty taken onboard ILB and brought ashore to CG, who requested ambulance as casualty hypothermic. ILB recovered board and rig and returned to station at 1536.

21st January All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1145 to Angling vessel which was experiencing difficulty in towing a small 17ft yacht off Warden point. ALB arrived on scene at 1211, casualty approx 2 NM ENE of Warden point, no persons on yacht, ALB secured a tow on yacht and taken in tow at 1225, proceeding towards Sheerness. The craft was secured in Sheerness, the Angling boat making it’s own way to Hoo. ALB ready for service at 1435. wind WNW F5/6.
30th January Inshore lifeboat launched at 2110 to vulnerable person threatening to jump from Rochester bridge. ILB stood off, whilst Police negotiated with the person, who gave himself up to police. ILB returned to station at 2325. wind Northerly F2.
5th February All Weather lifeboat launched at 0025 to 34ft Yacht broken down and drifting near knock John tower, 2 persons onboard, ALB on scene at  0128, casualty located SW of East Barrow bank, some 19 miles from station. Tow established and the casualty towed back to Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 0545. wind SSE 4/5 gusting 6 with heavy driving snow.
17th February Inshore lifeboat launched at 2000 to Martello Tower off Grain, where lights had been seen, ILB found 5 persons fishing, all ok and staying there overnight. ILB returned to station at 2020. wind NW F2.
20th February Inshore lifeboat launched at 1316 to report of person in the water off Queenborough causeway, upon arrival of ILB, the casualty had managed to make his own way ashore and was being treated by Ambulance paramedic. ILB returned to station at 1406. wind SW F4.
25th February All Weather lifeboat launched at 2145 to assist in search for possible missing person(s) from drifting Fishing vessel in vicinity of Princes channel, the ALB commenced it’s search along with Whitstable L/B and Rescue helicopter 125, Margate L/B also joined the search. Whitstable L/B had already recovered a body from the water and it was thought a second person was missing. After an extensive search, the search was terminated, Whitstable L/B transferred the body to Sheerness ALB, who also took the fishing vessel in tow for Sheerness. Police and Cg met the Lifeboat upon their arrival at Sheerness. L/B ready for service at 0427. wind SW F2.
4th March Inshore lifeboat launched at 0757 to provide afloat safety cover for Kent Fire & Rescue dealing with fire ashore on Kingsnorth power station jetty, ILB stood down at 0847, fire now extinguished. ILB back on station & ready for service at 0923. wind Sthly F2.
8th March Inshore lifeboat launched at 1542 to report of person in dinghy off Stangate creek, CG corncerned for person’s welfare. ILB located casualty in Sharfleet creek, person bait digging and all’s well, no assistance required. ILB returned to station at 1636. wind WNW F3.
17th March All Weather lifeboat launched at 2114 to 10 mtr Motorboat broken down with 3 persons onboard off LNG terminal IOG, casualty located and taken in tow to entrance of Stoke creek to await tow into creek on next tide. ALB returned to station at 2210. wind Wstly F2.
6th April All Weather lifeboat launched at 1508 to 24ft Motorboat which had suffered an engine fire onboard, which had been extinguished, position just South of the Montgomery Wreck, 3 persons onboard, Rescue 125 also tasked. ALB arrived on scene, two crew placed onboard with 1st aid equipment, two persons were taken off craft to lifeboat and treated for minor burns and shock. Rescue 125 winchman lowered to lifeboat to also check over casualties, it was decided to land casualties ashore by lifeboat.

Craft taken in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured and met by Cg and ambulance, ALB returned to station at 1716. wind WNW F3.

12th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1804 to vulnerable 9yr old child missing from Allhallows area, Rescue 125 also proceeding. ILB arrived on scene and commenced search of shoreline, shortly after, the child was found safe and well ashore, units stood down.

13th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1444 to report of person threatening to jump from M2 Bridge, Rochester. ILB was stood down at 1458, when it was confirmed that person was with Police. ILB ready for service at 1538. wind Var Light airs
15th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 2345 to 25ft Cruiser reported out of fuel with 3 persons onboard, somewhere between Oare and Conyer creeks in the Swale. ILB located casualty craft and secured a tow, unfortunately, due to a falling tide, the craft grounded and ILB unable to refloat. Persons happy to remain onboard until daylight. ILB ready for service at 0317. wind Nthly F4.
22nd April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1710 to 21ft Motorboat broken down off Sheppey coast, ILB arrived on scene, nothing visual, casualty located half a mile off Spile buoy, tow established and casualty towed to IOSSC slip. ILB returned to station at 1917.

24th April Inshore lifeboat launched at 1716, but was quickly stood down, following reported windsurfer in trouble, was in fact a marker buoy, false alarm with good intent. ILB was re-housed at 1728. wind NW F2.
6th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 2158 to report of 4 children cut off by tide at base of Warden point, Rescue 125 also proceeding. ILB arrived in area and commencing search at 2220, the children were eventually located at 2235, ILB crew went ashore to check on children, who were very cold and muddy. Rescue 125 arrived on scene and airlifted all the children to top of cliffs into care of Sheppey CG. ILB returned to station and ready for service at 0005. wind NE F2/3.
15th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 1622 in response to report of a female trapped in the mud near Rochester bridge, shortly after launching, the ILB was stood down, when it was confirmed, that person had been assisted to safety by kent fire & Rescue. ILB returned and ready for service at 1637. wind Nthly F4/5.
25th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 1513 to report of two Sailboarders in difficulties off Shingle bank, Minster. ILB stood down at 1520, both casualties reported safe ashore, ILB returned to station and ready for service at 1542. wind Estly F5/6.
26th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 2059 to report of 3 persons stuck in mud off Whitton Marina at Hoo, Kent Fire & Rescue boat/ Rescue 125 also proceeding. ILB stood down at 2106, persons confirmed safe ashore. ILB returned to station at 2128. wind ESE F3.
27th May Inshore lifeboat launched at 1320 to 21ft motorboat broken down on West shore of Sheerness Hbr, 2 persons onboard, ILB took casualty in tow to Queenborough hbr , where it was secured at 1402. wind Estly F4.
27th May Inshore lifeboat proceeded at 1402 from previous service to 28ft Bayliner cruiser broken down and drifting in Sheerness hbr, 1 adult and 2 children onboard, casualty taken in tow at 1410, ILB proceeding to Gillingham marina, casualty secured on fuel berth at 1513, ILB returned to station at 1600. wind Estly F4.
2nd June Inshore lifeboat tasked at 2030 to report of person in the water off Sheerness, stood down at 2037, person safe ashore.
4th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 1205 to small dinghy with 1 person onboard drifting onto lee shore in entrance of Queenborough hbr, ILB on scene and towed the casualty back to his craft on mooring in Hbr, person ok. ILB returned to station at 1246.

9th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 1841 to report of Red Flare in West Swale, ILB carried out thorough search from Queenborough to Kingsferry bridge, nothing untoward found. ILB returned to station at 1936. wind Wstly F4.
9th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 2356 to report of 14ft craft aground with fouled propellor near Rochester bridge, 3 persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene and successfully managed to refloat the craft and then towed to local marina. ILB returned to station at 0218. wind SW F2.
22nd June All Weather lifeboat launched at 1514 to report of Kayak in difficulties off Minster beach with 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene at 1528, casualties almost ashore and both ok, ALB stood off until both ashore and then returned to station at 1613. wind SW F7.
23rd June Inshore lifeboat launched at 1740 to report of Jet Ski and 3 persons in the water off Allhallows, isle of Grain. ILB on scene at 1756, casualty close to main shipping channel, 3 persons taken onboard the ILB and jet ski taken in tow, persons cold having been in the water for some time, due to insuffient water at Allhallows, the helmsman decided to return back to station, casualties landed to awaiting Ambulances at 1942, ILB recovered and ready for service at 2020. wind SW F5/6.
29th June Inshore lifeboat launched at 1626 to report of inflatable being blown quickly offshore with adult and child onboard, Sheerness seafront. ILB on scene 1636, casualties now drifted 1/4 to 1/2 a mile off and eastwards of original position, casualties taken onboard ILB and suffering from cold, ILB landed them ashore at Sheppey Y.C to awaiting Cg and ambulance. ILB returned to station, ready for service at 1736. wind WSW F6/7.
1st July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1532 to 17ft Speedboat broken down in Long Reach, Swale. 6 persons onboard, ILB on scene 1546, casualty taken in tow for kingsferry launch ramp, where it was safely ashore at 1600. ILB returned to station and ready for service at 1630. wind SW F5.
6th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1755 to Sportsboat broken down off Minster Leas with one person onboard, craft at anchor, ILB arrived on scene and passed a tow, casualty towed back to the launch ramp at Shingle bank, ILB ready for service at 1848.

7th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 0441 to person in distressed state on Swale Crossing, ILB stood by at discreet distance, whilst police negotiated with person. Once safe with police, ILB was stood down and returned to station at 0555. wind Sthly F2.
7th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1526 to report of Kayak sinking near Hoo Island with 2 persons onboard, the ILB was stood down whilst on route, when it was confirmed that the 2 persons had been recovered by a passing craft and were being landed at Gillingham. 7th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1557 to report of person in the water off Sheerness Leisure centre, ILB arrived on scene and recovered person from the water and escorted a second swimmer safe ashore, both persons handed over to Sheppey CG. ILB returned to station at 1626. wind Sthly F3.
8th July All Weather lifeboat launched at 1448 to 6.5mtr motor cruiser run out of fuel near West Nore Sand buoy, 4 persons onboard, casualty at anchor. ALB arrived on scene, crewman placed onboard, tow established and casualty towed into the safety of Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 1634. wind NW F4/5.
17th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 0915 to 18ft sail yacht reported to be unable to sail against prevailing weather in upper reaches of River Medway, one person onboard, ILB located casualty secured on mooring in Gillingham reach, safe and well. After ascertaining that all was well, the ILB was released to station, arriving back and ready for service at 1047. wind Wstly F4.
19th July Inshore lifeboat paged at 1328 to report of child on paddleboard in difficulties off Minster, before launching, the ILB was stood down at 1332, person now safe ashore.

Wstly 3.

19th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1716  in response to ‘Mayday’ call from small Hovercraft with 2 occupants out of fuel by No 15 lightbuoy, River Medway. ILB arrived on scene and took the occupants onboard. Craft taken in tow, but due to the design, the tow to Gillingham strand was only achieved at approx one & half knots. The casualty was eventually put ashore and the ILB released, returning to station at 2025.

21st July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1640 to a 25ft Motor Cruiser reported out of fuel off Oakhamness jetty, River Medway, 5 persons onboard. ILB on scene at 1653, luckily a passing Cruiser from the same marina offered assistance in towing the casualty back to Chatham. ILB crew assisted in rigging a tow and once safely under tow, the ILB was released to station, arriving back on station at 1730. wind Estly F3.
25th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 1638 to report of 6 children cut off by the tide at Warden Point, ILB on route, when advised at 1653, that all the children were safe ashore with Police, ILB returned to station at 1721. wind Estly F3.
26th July Inshore lifeboat tasked at 1734 to 22ft motorboat broken down in Stangate creek, launch cancelled at 1739, local marina going to craft’s assistance.
26th July Inshore lifeboat launched at 2225 to report of person having entered the sea off Sheerness seafront, ILB on scene at 2230, ILB crewmember and Police assisted the person from the water to the shore into hands of CG and Police. ILB returned to station at 2321. wind Estly F2.
28th July All Weather lifeboat launched at 1325 to 32ft Motorboat broken down with fuel contamination and at anchor just to the NW of the Kentish Flat wind farm, 2 persons onboard. ALB arrived on scene and established tow, the casualty was towed back to the entrance of the Hadleigh Ray, where it was handed over to Southend Lifeboat, ALB returned to station and ready for service at 1630. wind Sthly F1.
28th July All Weather lifeboat launched at 1830 to 24ft Motorboat with 3 persons onboard, broken down and now at anchor near No 3 Medway Channel buoy. ALB arrived on scene, one crewman placed onboard to assist in raising anchor, tow secured and casualty towed into Queenborough hbr. Owner managed to repair engine and was able to motor back to his mooring in Queenborough creek. ALB returned to station at 1957. wind Westlerly F3.
31st July Inshore lifeboat paged at 2020 in response to report of person stuck in the mud off Gillingham, ILB was cancelled at 2023, person now safe.
4th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 1825 to report of 3 Kayakers in trouble off Martello Tower on Grain shore. ILB arrived on scene and after investigation, all 3 perons safe and well and making their way ashore after a day’s kayaking on river. ILB returned to station at 1910. wind SW F3.
10th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 0934 to 24ft Sail yacht with electrical problem, at anchor on Queenborough Spit, two persons onboard. ILB arrived on scene and established tow, casualty towed into Q’Boro Hbr. ILB returned to station at 1040. wind Var Lt Airs.
10th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 1655 to 18ft speedboat broken down with 4 persons onboard in Stangate creek, Rvr Medway, ILB on route to casualty, the position was now confirmed as Long Point in Swale, ILB located casualty secured to navigational mark, tow established and casualty handed over to Southend Lifeboat for tow back to Southend. ILB returned to station at 1802. wind Estly F3.
10th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 2019 to report of dinghy drifting off Sheerness seafront. ILB arrived on scene to find craft anchored and fishing with two occupants, ILB checked second dinghy, which was also fishing. ILB returned to station at 2105. wind Estly F3.
11th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 2310 to 20ft Motor Sailer unsure of position, following complete electrical failure, 2 persons onboard. Casualty located at Queenborough Spit and escorted into Queenborough hbr, where it was safely berthed. ILB returned to station at 0045. wind Estly F5.
17th August All Weather lifeboat launched at 1916 to 10mtr Fishing Vessel, who had lost steering with two persons onboard, in a position of the Outer Tongue anchorage, Lifeboat arrived on scene, tow established, casualty and her crew all ok. Vessel towed back to her home port of Queenborough, where it was secured at 0014. Lifeboat returned to station at 0112. wind ESE F2.
17th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 2011 to 14ft motorboat  with outboard failure and now aground in Wickham Reach, Rvr Medway, 1 person onboard. ILB arrived on scene, casualty refloated and towed to local marina, where it was secured, ILB returned to station at 2255. wind SW F2.
19th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 1955 to dinghy with 3 occupants reported drifting off Folly Point, Rvr Medway, on route to casualty, information was received that the dinghy had been taken in tow by passing yacht, ILB continuing. ILB arrived on scene, casualties now safe ashore at Gillingham strand. ILB returned to station at 2100. wind SW F2.
20th August All Weather lifeboat launched at 1058 to 6mtr Motor Cruiser broken down in West Swin channel, there was 4 persons onboard. A Yacht had responded to their ‘mayday’ call and had taken them in tow. The ALB met up with the Yacht, crewman placed onboard, 2 children were taken onboard the ALB and craft taken in tow. the casualty was towed into Queenborough harbour. ALB returned to station at 1340. wind SW F2.
20th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 1628 to motorboat reported to have drifted under Kingsnorth jetty, Rvr Medway, 2 persons onboard. Whilst proceeding a passing Yacht saw their plight and took the craft in tow, ILB continued to ensure that all was well, once happy with situation, the ILB was released and returned to station at 1734.

20th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 1852 to ‘Pan Pan call’ from 6mtr Motor Cruiser broken down off Kingsnorth jetty with 4 persons onboard. (same casualty ALB towed in earlier), the ILB established tow and towed the craft into Gillingham marina. ILB returned to station at 2102. wind Sw F2.
28th August All Weather lifeboat launched at 1800 to 23ft Yacht with broken rudder,  near Maplin buoy in West Swin channel. 2 persons onboard. Burnham L/B also launched to casualty. Burnham L/B arrived on scene first and secured a tow. Sheerness ALB arrived on scene at 1831, tow taken over from Burnham, crewman transferred to casualty, who then deployed the casualty drogue, the tow to Queenborough passed without incident, casualty secured at 2025. ALB released at 2028 and proceeded to exercise. wind SW F4/6.
29th August All Weather lifeboat launched at 1202 to 27ft motor Cruiser with 5 persons onboard, broken down between Sheerness and Southend. Casualty located in Grain Swatchway between Mid & Nore Swatch buoys. Tow passed and casualty towed into Queenborough harbour, to be met by CG. ALB returned to station at 1353.

31st August Inshore lifeboat launched at 1353 to 16ft broken down Speedboat off Darnettness, River Medway, 2 persons onboard. ILB located casualty off Nore marsh, craft taken in tow for Gillingham pier, where it was secured at 1450. ILB returned to station at 1553.

2nd September Inshore lifeboat launched 0622 to 23ft Motorboat reported out of fuel off St.Mary’s island, River Medway with 4 persons onboard. ILB located the casualty secured to a mooring off Chatham Docks, tow established and casualty towed to the fuel pontoon at Gillingham marina. ILB returned to station at 0755. wind Wstly F2.
9th September Inshore lifeboat launched at 1717 to 29ft yacht with anchor fouled on underwater obstruction in Queenborough hbr, ILB crew managed to secure the yacht to a nearby mooring, before recovering the anchor and cable. The yacht’s crew were then landed ashore. ILB returned to station at 1851. wind SW F4/5.
14th September All Weather lifeboat launched at 1640 to assist in search for missing Kite Surfer off Shoeburyness. Southend Lifeboats & hovercraft, Rescue Helicopter, Gravesend L/B & Motor tanker Aurora all involved in search. Rescue units stood down at 1650, when casualty found safe and well ashore at Shoebury boom. ALB returned to station at 1735. wind NW F5.
17th September All Weather lifeboat launched at 0954 to 30ft motor cruiser with engine failure near Mid Swatch buoy, 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene within 6 minutes, casualty underway for Gillingham, owner happy to proceed upriver unaided on other servicable engine. ALB returned to station at 1025. wind Wstly F2.
19th September Inshore lifeboat diverted from exercise at 2025 to vulnerable person threatening to jump from Rochester bridge, other marine craft also proceeding. ILB stood down at 2048, when it was confirmed that person was safe with police. ILB returned to station at 2132. wind NW F3.
20th September Inshore lifeboat launched at 1849 to person with medical condition in need to be landed ashore from craft aground in Swale near Kingsferry bridge. ILB embarked casualty plus one and brought back to all tide landing at Queenborough, where they were placed onboard  their friend’s craft for care. ILB returned to station at  1947. wind SW F2/3.
14th October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1253 to 18ft Motorboat broken down and drifting in Saltpan reach, one person onboard, ILB on scene at 1300, casualty taken under tow and towed back to it’s mooring in Stoke Creek. ILB returned to station at 1434.

14th October All Weather lifeboat placed on immediate readiness at 2214 for possible launch to assist Whitstable L/B with casualty ashore at Herne Bay. ALB stood down at 2226.
16th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 2334 to report of vulnerable person threatening to jump off M2 motorway bridge. ILB reached the port of rochester, before being stood down, person now detained by Police. ILB returned to station at 0107. wind SW F1/2.
18th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 1656 to craft thought to be in trouble in vicinity of Bartlett creek, River Medway, ILB on scene in area at 1715, it was then reported by Medway Cg, that two persons from casualty were safe ashore, having left their craft aground in Otterham creek. ILB returned to station at 1755. wind SW F2/3.
20th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 1744 to 22ft Motor Cruiser broken down with 3 persons onboard, just East of Ridham Dock in the Swale. ILB arrived on scene, tow established and casualty towed back to the all tide landing in Queenborough Hbr. ILB returned to station at 1935. wind SE F2.
20th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 2020 to person missing, walking his dog between Sheerness & Eastchurch. ILB commenced a shoreline search at 2025, working Eastwards. Police helicopter, Police and CG units also searching. The casualty was found safe & well by the helicopter at Eastchurch, ILB crew unable to reach the person. ILB returned to station at 2155. wind SE F2.
27th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 1307 to 27ft Motor Cruiser disabled in Queenborough harbour, 2 persons onboard, ILB on scene at 1315, casualty now hard aground on Rushenden Flats. Crewmember walked ashore and assisted the two persons ashore to Sheppey CG, then placed out anchor for casualty, one person from casualty hypothermic and ambulance called. ILB released at  1408. ILB returned to station, ready for service at 1441. wind Northerly F 6/7.
29th October Inshore lifeboat launched at 1210 to 26ft Sail Yacht with 2 persons onboard, disabled with engine failure and aground in entrance to Stoke Creek, River Medway. ILB arrived on scene and successfully managed to refloat the craft and then towed it to Queenborough hbr, where it was secured on a safe mooring, the 2 occupants landed ashore to CG. ILB returned to station at 1423. wind SW F4/5.
3rd November Inshore lifeboat launched at 1751 to report of Red Flares sighted in the Swale between Conyer and Milton creeks, ILB arrived on scene and carried out a search of the area, nothing untoward found. ILB returned to station at 2020. wind SW F3.
4th November Inshore lifeboat launched at 1417 to report of Sailing Dinghy in difficulties off Hooness, River Medway, 2 persons reported onboard. ILB made speed in the the prevailing weather. ILB was stood down at 1429, when it was confirmed that casualty was being assisted by another craft. ILB returned to station at 1505. wind Wstly F7.
15th November Inshore lifeboat launched at 0550 to vulnerable person on Rochester bridge, ILB made best speed to scene in poor visibility, once on scene, ILB stood by whilst Police negotiated with person. Once person was escorted to safety, the ILB was released, returning to station at 0903. wind Lt Airs Fog.
25th November All Weather lifeboat launched at 1022 to 13 Mtr Crew transfer workboat making water off Sheerness, 2 persons onboard, ALB alongside at 1027 and portable pump with two crew transferred to casualty, casualty pumped dry and once stable, the casuaty was escorted to the slipway at Sheerness docks, where it was secured at 1054. ALB returned to mooring, ready for service at 1133. wind SW F6/7.
27th November All Weather lifeboat launched at 1515 to 10Mtr Fishing Vessel broken down off Whitstable Street buoy with one person onboard, Whitstable lifeboat also launching.

ALB arrived on scene at 1554, one crew man transferred via Whitstable lifeboat to casualty, who was then passed a tow, casualty safely under tow at 1616, making for Queenborough hbr, casualty safely secured and ALB returned to station at 1920.

2nd December All Weather lifeboat on return from training exercise was tasked at 1202 to a 10mtr Cabin Cruiser broken down and drifting off Kingsnorth, River Medway. 2 persons onboard. ALB arrived on scene and tow secured, casualty towed to Chatham maritime marina. ALB returned at 1410. wind Wstly F3/4.
4th December Inshore lifeboat launched at 1206 to disabled Hovercraft on foreshore off Folly Point, Hoo Island, 2 persons and 1 dog onboard. ILB arrived on scene and took the occupants & dog onboard, the hovercraft was taken under tow and all were landed ashore to Medway Cg at Gillingham. ILB returned to station at 1402. wind WNW F4/5.
9th December All Weather lifeboat launched at 1400 in response to a Mayday call from a craft in the upper reaches of the River Medway, on route, the ALB was stood down at 1411, when a local craft was reported to be assisting the casualty craft. The ALB proceeded to a PR event in Queenborough hbr, before returning to station at 1530. wind Wstly F5.
15th December All Weather lifeboat launched at 1523 to 50ft Cabin Cruiser rapidly making water, off Bishop’s Ooze, River Medway, 4 persons onboard. ALB on scene and two crew and portable pump transferred, casualty secured alongside and tow commenced to Gillingham marina, pumping of vessel continued until casualty was safely secured in the lock entrance. ALB released at 1636, returning to station at 1740. wind SW F5.
28th December All Weather lifeboat launched at 1911 to 9mtr Yacht aground on Maplin Sands after suffering complete electrical failure, 2 persons onboard. Southend Atlantic L/B also proceeding. ALB had visual contact with casualty at 1952, casualty aground just NW of Maplin Bell buoy. ALB unable to close casualty due to insuffient water, awaited arrival of Southend L/B, who once on scene transferred a crew member from the ALB to the casualty. Southend L/B then established a tow and successfully towed the casualty clear of the sands into deeper water, where the ALB then took over the tow. A second crew member from the ALB was transferred to the casualty. After a long two hour tow, the casualty was secured in Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station and ready for service at 2355. wind SW F6 gusting 8.

3rd January Inshore Lifeboat paged at 0038 to report of Distressed person on Rochester Bridge, the crew were stood down before launching and the ILB was rehoused.
9th January All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1700 to reports of Red Flares on a line from Blacktail Spit to Warden point, the ALB carried out a thorough search of the area and nothing found. ALB ready for service at 1845. wind North Westerly F2.
3rd February All Weather Lifeboat launched at 2227 to 25ft Motor Sailer experiencing heavy weather conditions in West Swin/Maplin Sands, three persons onboard, the owner reported that his crew were suffering from sea sickness and fearful that the craft might capsize in present weather. ALB arrived on scene at 2322 and after several attempts a crewman was transferred and a tow established at 2335, after a long tow in heavy seas, the casualty craft was secured in Queenborough harbour at 0255, the occupants were taken ashore to awaiting Ambulance for hospital checks and the ALB returned to station and ready for service at 0426. wind West South West F 8/9.
4th February Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1558 to report of Male Adult stranded on Nore marsh, whilst launching the ILB was also advised of two persons adrift in a dinghy in Gillingham Reach, the ILB made best speed to the scene, whilst on passage upriver, it was confirmed that the two persons in dinghy had been recovered by a local tug and were being landed ashore. The ILB continued to Nore marsh and arrived on scene at 1635, after several attempts to reach the casualty, the ILB had to abort due to the tide rapidly ebbing, a Rescue helicopter was requested and the person duly airlifted to safety. 6th February Pagers activated at 1359, report of dinghy in trouble in Damhead creek, launch cancelled at 1403, persons safe ashore.
13th February All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1722 to report of Jet Ski drifting in Gillingham Reach with two persons onboard, however, shortly after, the ALB was stood down, when it was confirmed that Jet Ski was in tow of a passing craft and returning to Gillingham. ALB ready for service at 1738. wind South South West F4/5.
20th March All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0219 to the M/V Grande Ghana outward bound in the Sea Reach channel with a sick pilot onboard, Gravesend L/B already placed a crewmember onboard. Sheerness ALB arrived on scene, Rescue helicopter also on scene, ALB shadowed the vessel, whilst casualty was airlifted to hospital, Gravesend L/B recovered their crewmember and ALB returned to station and ready for service at 0421. wind ESE F2.
4th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2254 to launch with fouled propellor in Queenborough hbr, ILB crew assisted to free propellor and escorted craft to safety.

6th April Inshore Lifeboat crew paged late afternoon to report of two persons in the water at Chatham, crew stood down before launch.
17th April Inshore Lifeboat crew paged at 1002 to report of person in the water at Chatham, holding onto dinghy. ILB was stood down at 1008, person recovered by local craft and taken ashore.
24th April All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0200 to 25ft MFV with complete power failure in Great Nore Anchorage, two persons onboard, casualties fishing gear still on seabed and unable to recover. ALB placed crewmember onboard and stood by whilst fishing gear was released, the casualty was then taken under tow for the Hadleigh Ray, where it was secured on a mooring, the two occupants were landed at Southend Pier. ALB returned to station at 0538. wind Estly F2.
1st May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1444 to 18ft Speedboat broken down and drifting in Gillingham Reach, 2 persons onboard, casualty located and taken in tow for Gillingham Dock, where it was eventually secured and persons assisted ashore by Medway CG.

21st May Inshore lifeboat launched at 1720 to Cruiser aground by Folly Point after running out of fuel, 5 persons onboard, 4 persons assisted to Cruiser standing off, ILB checked craft and placed out anchor, 1 person remaining onboard, ILB returned to station at 1849. wind SW F3.
25th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2103 to 32ft Yacht reporting to have run out of fuel and anchor not holding in entrance to Stangate Creek, River Medway, one person. ILB run fuel out to casualty, but still unable to start engine, due to weather forecast, casualty was towed into the safety of Queenborough hbr. ILB returned to station at 2242. wind SSE F2.
30th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2017 to 15ft Speedboat stranded on the mud off Elmley in Swale, 2 persons onboard, CG concerned for their welfare, ILB arrived on scene, casualty approx 20 yds from water’s edge, 2 crew made their way across mud to casualty and secured tow line, both persons ok, as tide rose, casualty was towed clear and then escorted to Queenborough Hbr. ILB ready for service at 2202. wind NW F3.
22nd June Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0427 to 22ft Yacht with engine failure at anchor inside Darnettness Fort, River Medway, one person onboard, the ILB towed the casualty back to it’s mooring at Gillingham Marina, ILB released and returned to station and ready for service at 0600. wind SW F3.
26th June Inshore Lifeboat tasked to broken down Speedboat in Gillingham Reach, 2 persons onboard, as the ILB was launching, it was stood down when it was confirmed, that casualty was being assisted by another craft. ILB re-housed at 1855. wind Estly F2.
26th June Inshore Lifeboat tasked to Jet Skier unable to reach the shore in the Swale, as the ILB was launching, it was stood down once again, casualty managed to reach shore safely. ILB re-housed at 2000. wind Estly F2.
2nd July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1440 to assist Kent Ambulance with collapsed female near Hoo Marina, land personnel unable to reach casualty, the ILB was stood down at 1453, when it was confirmed that person had been recovered by stretcher with assistance of Kent Fire Brigade. ILB ready for service at 1520. wind Estly F2.
5th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1902 to report of Jet Skier in difficulties off Minster Leas, on way to casualty, it was reported, that the person had managed to make it ashore, but the Jet Ski was still adrift, the ILB recovered the Jet Ski and towed it ashore, where it was re-united with the owner. ILB ready for service at 1959. wind Wstly F4/5.
6th July Inshore Lifeboat diverted from Training Ex at 2010 to report of 22ft yacht gone aground on the South side of Hoo Island, River Medway. ILB arrived on scene, casualty high & dry, 3 persons onboard, the ILB crew assisted to transfer the occupants from their craft to a local yacht club committee boat standing by, the ILB then returned to station & ready for service at 2149. wind SW F4/5.
12th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 2010 to 33ft Yacht 12nm from station at Maplin bank buoy with unreliable engine and unable to make headway in strong NNE wind, the ALB arrived on scene and established a tow and the casualty was towed to the shelter of Queenborough Hbr. 13th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1650 to report of Motor Sailer in trouble near Kingsnorth jetty, Rvr Medway, ILB arrived on scene to find 28ft Yacht aground on Bishops marsh, Long reach, ILB attempted to tow the yacht off, but too far aground, in view of the increasing wind, the 4 elderley occupants were taken off and landed ashore at Thunderbolt pier. ILB ready for service at 1845. wind Nthly F3/4.
14th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1655 to yacht reported aground exiting Queenborough hbr, ILB located casualty on Queenborough Spit, Dutch yacht aground with 2 persons onboard, ILB placed out anchor, crew happy to await flood tide. ILB returned and ready for service at 1753. wind Wstly F3.
22nd July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1907 to 12mtr Dutch yacht with fouled propellor 1.4nm East of Garrison Point, 6 persons onboard, ALB arrived on scene and took the casualty in tow for Queenborough hbr, where it was safely secured at 2005. ALB ready for service at 2035. wind Estly F2.
23rd July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0955 to 9mtr Angling Boat with machinery failure close to the Spile buoy, 7 nm from station, 2 persons onboard. ALB arrived on scene, tow established and the casualty towed to the entance of Stoke Creek, Rvr Medway, where it was re-anchored to await the tide & a tow back to it’s mooring. ALB ready for service at 1225. wind NNW F4/5.
31st July Inshore Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1136 to 3mtr RIB broken down off Sheerness seafront, 2 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene, casualty under tow of sailing dinghy, ILB took over the tow and towed the RIB back to the local Yacht Club. ILB returned to station and ready for service at 1247. wind Var F2.
31st July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1745 to faint Mayday call from 30ft Yacht reported to be aground on North shore of Saltpan reach, ILB checked the position given and no sign of casualty, ILB then commenced search and with assistance of Kent Police RIB, located the casualty high and dry in Long Reach, ILB crewmember walked ashore and owner & crew happy to remain onboard until next HW. ILB returned to station at 1935.

1st August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1911 to 21ft Yacht with broken rudder in Saltpan reach, Rvr Medway, 2 persons onboard. Casualty located at anchor, crewman placed onboard and casualty taken in tow for Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. On passage out of Queenborough, the ALB also checked on a Yacht aground on Queenborough spit, 1 person onboard and happy to await next tide. ALB returned to station at 2027. wind SSE F 2/3.
2nd August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1642 to 21ft Sports Boat out of fuel and drifting off Otterham Creek entrance, River Medway, 4 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and took the casualty in tow for mariners farm boatyard, upon arrival at the entrance, there was insuffient water to land the casualty, so the the ILB towed the casualty back out of the creek and now heading for Gillingham. The casualty was safely secured on a mooring and the persons landed ashore at 1921, the ILB returned to station at 2020.

5th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2138 to report of Person threatening to jump from Rochester Bridge, ILB was stood down at 2158, when it was confirmed that person had been detained by police. ILB returned to station at 2238. wind SW F2.
7th August All weather Lifeboat launched at 2041 to 32ft Tri-maran with 3 persons onboard, craft reported out of fuel with electrical failure and unable to make headway, position North of Columbine buoy, although this was updated to North of Red Sand Towers whilst on way to casualty, casualty was located North West of Shivering Sand Towers, all on onboard, tow established and casualty towed into Queenborough Hbr. ALB returned to station at 0036. wind SW F4/5.
12th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 1650 to report of dinghy drifting off Minster, ILB on scene with craft at 1705, a small inflatable with two foreign occupants fishing, both ok and in no need of assistance, details obtained and ILB returned to station at 1757.

14th August All Weather Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1125 to 31ft Yacht with overheating engine and unable to make headway under sail, 2 persons onboard, ALB arrived on scene with casualty just to the West of Reculver, tow established and casualty towed into Queenborough Hbr. ALB returned to station at 1505. wind NW F4.
14th August Inshore and All Weather Lifeboats launched at 1616 to unconscious male onboard Yacht near Kingsnorth jetty, Rvr Medway, 2 persons onboard , both Lifeboats arrived on scene, casualty given 1st Aid by crew’s before being evacuated to ALB by stretcher and then airlifted by Rescue 125 to Hospital, ALB released and returned to station at 1836. ILB continued to assist yacht back to a mooring off Gillingham, landing other crew member ashore. ILB returned to station at 1939. wind NW F2/3.
14th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2036 to report of submerged craft in Long Reach, Rvr Medway, ILB located the craft, which was derelict and been adrift for some time, ILB secured craft to suitable mooring. ILB returned to station at 2152. wind NW F2.
15th August Inshore and All Weather Lifeboats launched at 0437 to person missing from capsized craft off Seasalter, Whitstable Lifeboat also searching, ILB proceeding through swale to search area, ALB proceeding to Eastern end of Sheppey to commence search, Both Lifeboats stood down at 0458, casualty recovered by fishing vessel and Whitstable L/B in attendance. Sheerness ILB and ALB returned to station at 0540. wind WSW F2.
15th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1604 to 10ft dinghy drifting off Barton’s Point with 3 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and took the craft in tow for Sheerness seafront, where it was landed with the occupants and handed over to Sheppey Cg. ILB returned to station at 1708. wind WSW F2/3.
16th August Inshore Lifeboat crew paged for Immediate Readiness, object reported off Minster, checked by Sheppey CG and identified as marker buoy. Crew stood down.
20th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1521 to 20ft Colvic Craft with 3 persons onboard, broken down off Sheerness Seafront, ILB on scene at 1526, casualty taken in tow for mooring at Lower Halstow creek, casualty secured and ILB returned to station at 1703.

21st August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0934 to 31ft yacht broken down off Grain Hard buoy in shipping channel, 2 persons onboard, ALB on scene within minutes, casualty managed to re-start engine and happy to proceed on passage, ALB escorted to Medway channel, owner happy to proceed un-aided. ALB returned to station at 1005. wind Wstly F2.
24th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2141 to 55ft Dutch Barge with 5 persons onboard, unsure of position in River Medway, casualty located off Stangate Creek, crewmember placed onboard and casualty escorted to a safe berth in Queenborough hbr. ILB returned to station at 2325. wind SW F3.
28th August Inshore and All Weather Lifeboats both diverted from exercise at 1129 to 7mtr Yacht aground on marsh in Loden Hope, Queenborough Hbr, 2 persons onboard. ALB on scene first, but insuffient water to close casualty, ILB arrived on scene, two crew placed ashore with casualty and as tide rose, a tow line was secured and casualty successfully towed into deeper water, ILB escorted casualty to a safe mooring, whilst ALB returned to station. 28th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1600 to 36ft Yacht with machinery failure, 2 persons onboard, casualty at anchore east of No 14 Barrow Deep buoy, ALB arrived on scene at 1636, crewman placed onboard and tow established, after a 2 hour tow, the casualty was safely secured on a mooring in Queenborough hbr. 1600 – 1908, wind Wstly F3.
28th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1815 to 8.5 mtr Motor Cruiser at anchor in Stangate Creek, 4 persons onboard. Casualty has a fouled stbd propellor and lost power & steering. ILB arrived on scene, crew assisted in re-starting engines and restoring steering, but owner advised to await ALB for tow to Queenborough. Once ALB on scene, the ILB was released, returning to station at 2000. wind Wstly F3.
28th August All Weather Lifeboat tasked at 1908 from previous incident to assist ILB with 8.5 mtr casualty in Stangate creek, crewman placed onboard, tow established and casualty  towed to a safe berth in Queenborough Hbr. ALB returned to station at 2045. wind Wstly F3.
29th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1646 to 30ft Sloop suffered machinery failure and now in tow of Whitstable L/B  in Four fathom channel, 3 persons onboard, ALB arrived on scene at 1715, tow taken over from Whitstable L/B and crewman placed onboard, tow to Queenborough passed without incident, casualty secured on All tide landing, ALB returned to station at 1953. wind NW F3/4.
29th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2047 to report of person possibly missing from his moored yacht in Queenborough hbr. ILB arrived on scene and crew investigated yacht, after further investigation by CG, the person was located safe and well onboard another yacht. ILB returned to station at 2152. wind NW F3.
30th August Inshore lifeboat launched at 2008 to cabin cruiser reported aground between M2 Motorway bridge and Cuxton, Rvr Medway, 2 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene, casualty aground mid river on sandbank, ILB crew checked on craft, no damage visible, owner happy to remain onboard until next HW. ILB returned to station at 2257. wind NW F1.
31st August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0308 to report of person missing, possibly cut off by tide on marshy outcrop in the Swale, last contact with casualty via mobile phone reports casualty wet & cold after having to swim from his location. Comms lost on mobile phone. ILB commenced search and was joined by CG, Police and Rescue 125. Casualty was located ashore safe & well, but very cold and wet, helicopter Paramadic checked casualty out and allowed to return home with his mother. ILB returned to station at 0525. wind NW F1.
31st August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1236 to 17ft open fishing boat with 2 persons onboard, casualty suffered fouled propellor in Stangate Creek, Rvr Medway, casualty located and  tow established, casualty towed into Queenborough hbr. ILB returned to station at 1440. wind NE F2.
31st August Inshore Lifeboat crew paged at 1706 for report of person jumped from Rochester Bridge, whilst ILB was launching, the ILB crew were stood down, as casualty had been recovered by local fishing boat. ILB rehoused at 1720. wind Estly F2.
1st September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1213 to yacht reported possibly in trouble off Kingsnorth, Rvr Medway, ILB arrived on scene to find the yacht with 1 person onboard had suffered engine failure and struggling to make headway against the wind and tide, casualty taken in tow and towed to Gillingham marina, where it was secured in the locks. 2nd September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1720 to report of small dinghy drifting off Minster Leas, ILB arrived on scene to find 2 foreign persons onboard fishing, no assistance required, ILB returned to station at 1800. wind WSW F1.
4th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1735 to report of 24ft Cruiser broken down and adrift above Rochester bridge, River Medway. ILB arrived on scene at 1821 to find the casualty alongside the seawall above the bridge, there were 5 persons onboard, ILB secured a tow to casualty and towed the craft to local yacht club pontoons. ILB returned to station at 2005. wind SW F4/5.
8th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2058 to 28ft Workboat aground in entrance to Milton creek in the Swale, 4 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and stood by until craft refloated, under it’s own power, the casualty was escorted to Queenborough Spit buoy, before returning to Chatham Marina. ILB returned to station at 2230. wind Wstly 3/4.
10th September Inshore lifeboat paged at 0829 to report of distressed female entering the sea off Minster Leas, the ILB was stood down at 0838, person recovered to shore by Police.
17th September Inshore Lifeboat paged at 1159  to 22ft Yacht with rigging failure and unable to motor against tide, 3 persons onboard. ILB stood down at 1202, casualty assisted by Port craft into Lower Camber, Sheerness.
17th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1322 to 22ft Yacht with rigging failure (same yacht as before), 3 persons onboard off Sheerness Docks, ILB secured a tow and towed the casualty into Queenborough Hbr, casualty secured on mooring and occupants landed ashore. ILB returned to station at 1437. wind SW F5.
17th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1557 to report of person threatening to jump from Rochester Bridge, ILB was stood down at 1604, when person was detained by Police. ILB returned to station at 1623. wind SW F5/6.
25th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1555 to report of vulnerable male in the river off Command House, Chatham, ILB arrived on scene to find person near naked on the mud, two ILB crew went ashore and coaxed the person into the ILB, person subsequently landed ashore to Police & Ambulance. ILB returned to station at 1820.

30th September Inshore & All Weather Lifeboats paged for undesignated distress call on DSC from Cabin Cruiser, Lifeboats were stood down when it was established craft was not in distress.
1st October Inshore lifeboat launched at 1226 to 21ft Angling Boat with 2 persons onboard, broken down and at anchor approx 1 mile North of Eastchurch gap, ILB arrived on scene and took the casualty in tow for Queenborough harbour, where it was safely secured at 1405. 1st October Inshore lifeboat launched at 2008 to bring person ashore from craft in Stangate creek on compassionate grounds, person embarked and landed ashore to CG at Lifeboat station. ILB returned to station at 2041. wind Sthly F2.
3rd October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1805 to report of 2 youths in small dinghy off Isle of Grain, using pieces of wood as paddles, ILB proceeded to reported position, but nothing seen, casualties were located near Horseshoe Pt, having come down under jetties, ILB met by Police unit and occupants ashore with police, ILB towed dinghy back to station, returning at 1900. wind SW F 4.
9th October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1833 to 25ft motor sailer with 2 persons onboard, in Gillingham reach, craft suffered machinery failure, due to blocked fule line, ILB arrived on scene and took the casualty in tow for Chatham marina pontoon, where it was secured. 28th October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0254 to distressed person on Rochester bridge, the ILB was recalled at 0257, when the Police detained the person, ILB ready for service at 0311. wind SW F1/2.
28th October Inshore lifeboat crew paged at 1314 to report of 2 persons in the water at Lower Halstow, the launch was cancelled at 1317, when the two persons were safe ashore.
3rd November Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1701 to 14ft dinghy with 2 youths onboard drifting off Yantlet range, Isle of Grain after losing their outboard overboard, no other means of propulsion to get them ashore, no radio or flares. ILB located the casualty, took the two occupants onboard and towed the craft back to the shore at Grain. ILB returned to station at 1815. wind Sthly F4/5.
6th November All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1254 to 30ft Ex-ships converted lifeboat, broken down and drifting, believed somewhere between the Blacktail Spit and Whitaker, VHF comms lost. Walton L/B also tasked and coming down from the North, Sheerness ALB to commence search at Blacktail Spit up through Swin, whilst L/B was going up the swin, the casualty was sighted to the South of Barrow bank in Barrow channel, ALB arrived on scene, 2 pob, all ok, Sheerness L/B was tasked to another incident, so casualty was handed over to Walton L/B at 1350. wind Nthly F5/6.
6th November All Weather Lifeboat tasked at 1350 from previous incident to a 22ft Yacht broken down and drifting, unsure of exact position, somewhere off Shoebury, ALB proceeding, casualty initiated EPIRB and casualty located by Lifeboat’s D/F, South of Shoebury Boom, casualty taken in tow, but during tow, casualty lost tiller, crewman placed onboard with casualty drogue, tow resumed and casualty secured in Queenborough hbr at 1610. ALB ready for service at 1712. wind Nthly F5/6.
20th November Inshore Lifeboat crew paged at 1530 to report of girl trapped in mud at Rochester, ILB stood down at 1537, girl safely recovered to dry land. ILB recovered.
24th November Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1144 to report of person jumped from M2 Motorway bridge, Rochester.  Along with ILB, Police RIB and Rescue Helicopter proceeding. ILB was stood down at 1205, when it was confirmed that person was recovered by Police. ILB returned to station at 1238. wind SW F3.
30th November Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1256 to report of person threatening to or jumped from Rochester bridge. ILB commenced search on scene at 1334 along with shore units and fire launch, area thoroughly searched, nothing untoward found, ILB returned to station at 1520. wind SSW F4/5.
13th December All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1145 to report of distressed person on Rochester rail bridge, once on scene, the ALB deployed the small XP boat to stand off bridge, whilst Police negotiated with person to come off bridge, once safe, the Lifeboat was released and returned to station at 1542. wind SW F7.
29th December Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1530 to Jet Skier fallen from his bike and unable to climb back onboard, position approx quarter of a mile off Allhallows Yacht club, ILB proceeded at best speed in prevailing weather and was conned onto casualty by Medway CG, casualty safely taken onboard ILB, very cold & hypothermic and immediately landed ashore to CG & ambulance at Allhallows, bike also brought ashore. 2nd January All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1248 to 30ft motor cruiser broken down whilst on passage, 2 persons onboard, the casualty was quickly located near the Mid Swatch buoy and taken in tow for the River Medway and was secured in the Lower Camber basin at Sheerness at 1331. wind Wstly F4.
2nd January All Weather Lifeboat proceeded at 1332 from previous incident to another 30ft Motor Cruiser broken down  with 1 person onboard very close to Stoke saltings, River Medway, the Lifeboat arrived on scene to find workboat assisting casualty, who had managed to re-start one of his engines, craft was towed clear and proceeded to his mooring in Stoke Creek under his own power. Lifeboat ready for service at 1455. wind Wstly F4.
2nd January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1336 to report of small dinghy in trouble off Gillingham with 1 person onboard, ILB arrived to find sole occupant was fishing and no assistance required, ILB returned to station at 1455. wind Wstly F4.
15th January Inshore Lifeboat tasked at 1326 to 25ft Cruiser reported drifting off Gun Wharf, Chatham, ILB was stood down before launch, when casualty was assited by local craft.
25th January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1937 to 21ft Sports Cruiser broken down in Swale near Kingsferry bridge, 4 persons onboard, the casualty was quickly located and towed to the Kingsferry launch ramp. ILB ready for service at 2035. wind Estly F4.
30th January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0035 to a 22ft Angling Boat reported aground on Lappel Bank upstream of Sheerness Docks, ILB arrived on scene to find the single occupant in the water attempting to stop his craft from going any further ashore, one crewmember was transferred to the craft and the person brought onboard. The ILB secured a tow and towed the craft clear and into Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. ILB ready for service at 0131. wind NNW F4.
31st January Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1820 to report of “Cries for help” heard in area of Upnor, River Medway, ILB carried out search along with RAF Rescue and Police Helicopters, Cg & Police units ashore, nothing was found and ILB was ready for service at 2100.

8th February Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2028 to Two Persons unable to get ashore from their moored vessel in Queenborough Hbr, ILB transported the two occupants and their dog ashore, where they were met by Sheppey CG. ILB ready for service at 2118.

14th February Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1719 to report of ‘Submerged craft’ drifting off Eastchurch, ILB arrived on scene to find large bulk of timber, as this could be a navigational hazard, the object was towed to the shingle bank, Minster. ILB ready for service at 1938. wind Nthly F2.
21st February Inshore lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1049 to 22ft Cruiser broken down with seized engine and now at anchor off Sheerness docks, 2 persons onboard, the ILB towed the casualty into the safety of Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured. ILB ready for service at 1148. wind Sthly F3.
6th March All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1113 and inshore Lifeboat at 1119 to 36ft Angling Boat reported to have grounded and now making water in East hoo Creek, River Medway, 5 persons onboard, both Lifeboats arrived on scene and casualty now underway with only minor leak, the ILB was released and the ALB escorted the casualty to Gillingham. ALB ready for service at 1318. wind Estly F4.
28th March Inshore Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1141 to 21ft Sports Cruiser with outboard failure in Eastern Swale, 3 persons onboard, Whitstable Lifeboat also proceeding. Sheerness ILB arrived on scene at 1216 and took over tow, returning to Kingsferry bridge launch site. ILB released at 1412, returned to station and ready for service at 1448. wind SW F 3.
3rd April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2320 to report of possible suicidal person at Rochester Bridge, ILB commenced search at Command House and continued upriver to M2 Motorway bridge, nothing untoward found, search terminated. ILB returned to station at 0155. wind Estly F2.
11th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1440 to report of 13ft Open Boat with 2 persons onboard, broken down and now ashore on mainland side of West Swale, ILB arrived on scene and took the the two occupants onboard and recovered the craft and towed it to Queenborough causeway, where it was landed. ILB ready for service at 1543. wind ENE F5.
11th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1801 followed shortly by the All Weather Lifeboat at 1811 to an injured crewman onboard a 11mtr yacht in Saltpan Reach, the casualty had been struck on the head by the yachts boom and had been unconscious, the ILB adminstered first aid and the casualty was transferred to the ALB, who landed him ashore at Sheerness to awaiting ambulance, both Lifeboats, ready for service at 1930.

17th April All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1930 to 7 mtr Angling Boat out of fuel and at anchor approx 1 mile North of Sheppey Coast, 3 persons onboard, casualty located and the craft was taken in tow for Queenborough hbr, where it was secured back on it’s mooring at 2040, the ALB was immediately re-tasked to a 10 mtr Cruiser with overheating problems in the River Medway near No 18 buoy, one person onboard, the casualty was taken in tow for Chatham maritime marina, where it was secured at 2206, the ALB returned to staion at 2310. wind SE F 3.
18th April All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1245 to 7.7 mtr Angling Boat broken down in a position near SW Barrow buoy, some 11 miles from Station, one person onboard, the casualty was safely located and taken in tow for it’s mooring at Thorpe bay, Southend, where it was safely secured. ALB returned to station at 1510. wind Easterly F3.
19th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1640 to 21ft Motorboat aground in West Swale with 1 person onboard, casualty aground on Sheppey side of river, near Sharfleet creek, the ILB arrived on scene and managed to re-float the craft, the ILB towed the casualty to Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured and handed over to CG. ILB returned to station at 1857. wind ESE F4.
24th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1758 to report of 18ft Motorboat aground near Nore Marsh, River Medway, upon arrival, casualty had re-floated, all 4 persons onboard safe and well. ILB took casualty in tow, the owner managed to re-start the engine and was happy to proceed to Rochester under his own power, the ILB stayed with the casualty for a short time before being released. ILB returned to station at 1953. wind ESE  F3.
25th April Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1812 to report of inflatable being blown out to sea off Sheerness, the ILB recovered the inflatable with no persons onboard and landed it back at the Lifeboat Station, the ILB was then tasked to a report of a 25ft Cruiser ashore on the North side of Burntwick Island, River Medway, the ILB arrived on scene and upon investigation, the owner had put his craft ashore after hitting debris in the river, damaging one of his props, no further damage sustained. The ILB assisted to re-float the craft, before it proceeded back upriver under it’s own power. ILB ready for service at 1944. wind SW F3/4.
2nd May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1204 to a 32ft bayliner Cruiser with engine problems off of Holehaven, the casualty is presently under tow of a Police RIB, the ALB arrived on scene and placed one crewmember onboard and secured a tow, ALB proceeding to Queenborough Hbr, where the casualty was secured, ALB ready for service at 1500.

3rd May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0600 to 21ft Yacht who put out Mayday call after losing their outboard overboard, unable to sail in present conditions, 2 persons onboard, ILB located the casualty approx 1 1/2 mls north of Garrison Point, tow established and casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough hbr. ILB ready for service at 0747.

10th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0938 to carry out search of River Medway between Upnor and Rochester following discovery of clothing ashore at Sun Pier, ILB carried out search of river along with Police helicopter and CG/Police units ashore, with nothing found, the ILB was released and returned to station, ready for service at 1225. wind ENE F4/5.
13th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2142 to report of missing Kayaker off Hoo, River Medway.

ILB commenced search of river & creeks, crewmember placed ashore to search foreshore of Hoo Island, the search was terminated, when the missing person was located safe and well at his home address. ILB ready for service at 0024. winf Sthly F2.

19th May All Weather crew paged for launch to 30ft Cruiser with engine problems near East Blyth buoy, crew were stood down before launch, casualty happy to proceed under one engine.
19th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1726 to canor and rubber dinghy thought to be in trouble off Sheerness, ILB arrived on scen to find occupants both ok and out for leisurlely “paddle”, ILB escorted them back to shore, where they were met by CG. ILB returned to station and was ready for service at 1750. wind Estly F3.
20th  May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1627 to 22ft Cruiser broken down with engine failure at the Maplin Buoy,12.5 mls from station, 3 persons onboard, the crew had managed to secure their craft to the buoy, ALB arrived on scene, crewmember transferred and the casualty was taken in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured at 1850, ALB ready for service at 1945. wind Estly F2.
22nd May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1615 to 11mtr Dutch Motor cruiser out of fuel and at anchor near Oaze Deep buoy, 3 persons onboard, 10.8 mls from station, casualty taken in tow and towed to Gillingham marina fuel berth, ALB returned to station at 2010. wind Estly F2.
23rd May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1423 to 43ft Cabin Cruiser with fouled anchor and folued propellor near No 11 Medway Channel buoy, 3 persons onboard, casualties anchor chain was cut to free it and craft towed into Queenborough hbr, casualty secured at 1603. wind Estly F2.
23rd May All Weather Lifeboat tasked from previous incident at 1604 to 43ft Cabin Cruiser at anchor East of Montgomery Wreck with complete electrical failure, 6 persons onboard, casualty taken in tow and towed to Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1750. wind Estly F2.
25th May All Weather Lifeboat launched 1930 to 16mtr Motor Cruiser ashore on Grain Spit, 5 persons onboard, due to state of tide, the ALB was unable to close the casualty and the launch of the Inshore Lifeboat was requested to assist, ILB launched at 1942 and once on scene, the ALB’s tow line was passed to ILB to run into casualty, once secure onboard, the casualties anchor was cut away and the ALB towed the casualty into deeper water and into the safety of Queeborough Hbr.ILB returned to station at 2055 followed by the ALB at 2150. wind Estly F6/7.
26th May All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1355 to 8mtr Yacht being sailed single handed, when owner became unwell. Rescue Helicopter also tasked, position of yacht was near Barrow deep No 9 buoy (approx 18 mls from station). The casualty was airlifted from the yacht by Rescue 125 and flown to Hospital, the ALB arrived on scene shortly after, the yacht was stiill underway on autopliot, two crewmembers were transferred to the yacht and a tow was established at 1453, after a long tow home, the casualty yacht was secured in Queenborough hbr and the ALB returned to station at 1840. wind Estly F4.
30th May Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1905 to report of small craft aground near Nore Marsh, River Medway and occupant trying to make his way ashore. ILB arrived on scene at 1928, ILB crewmember put ashore to walk across the mud to casualty, after some 20 minutes, the crewman reached the casualty, due to the depth of the mud in area, the ILB was re-located to South Yantlet creek, where the casualty could be more easily assisted to the ILB, the crewman and survivor reached the ILB at 2036 and now proceeding to Gillingham Marina, where they were met by Medway CG at 2114.

ILB was re-tasked to check on craft aground on Grain Spit, the ILB arrived on scene at 2140 and after checking that all was well, (the owner happy to await next HW), the ILB was released, returning to station and ready for service at 2235. wind NW F6/7.

3rd June All Weather Lifeboat launched at 2210 to report of woman onboard a yacht at Upnor, River Medway with hand/arm injury after getting it caught in a bight of rope, ALB arrived on scene, a local workboat also on scene, the casualty was taken onboard the ALB and treatment given and landed ashore at Chatham Marina along with her husband to awaiting ambulance, ALB ready for service at 0035. wind Estly F3.
13th June All weather Lifeboat launched at 1625 in response to Mayday call from Speedboat in difficulties near No 17 Lightbuoy, River Medway, unconfirmed report that speedboat had been assisted by passing leisure craft, ALB continued and located casualty at Darnettness in tow of Motor Cruiser, All ok and ALB released.

On passage to station, the ALB was diverted to yacht reported trapped under Kingsferry bridge, upon arrival, a tow was passed and casualties anchor recovered, after passing through the bridge, the casualty was towed to Queenborough hbr. ALB ready for service at 1835. wind SW F3.

26th June Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1425 to 17ft wayfarer sail dinghy with 1 person onboard, outboard lost overboard and craft drifting onto lee shore in Queenborough Hbr, the casualty was assisted by local craft in hbr and towed ashore. ILB ready for service at 1445. wind Estly F3.
27th June Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1911 to report of small inflatable drifting off Gillingham Strand with 3 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and commenced search, dinghy located secured to foreign yacht, all persons safe and well, ILB returned to station at 2035. wind Estly F3.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0039 to 25ft Speedboat out of fuel and at anchor in Chatham reach, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, casualty located, tow established and casualty towed to pontoon at Rochester cruising club, ILB returned to station at 0317. wind NW F4.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1024 to small inflatable dinghy drifting off Gillingham Strand with outboard failure, 2 persons onboard, casualty located off Darnettness Fort, persons taken onboard ILB and dinghy towed back to Gillingham. ILB returned to station at 1224. wind SW F5/6.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1349 to Wayfarer dinghy in tow of Southend L/B with adult and 3 1/2 year child onboard, ILB rendevoused with Southend L/B in Medway channel and took over tow of dinghy, whilst Southend proceeded to Sheerness to land casualties, who were checked over by Sheerness personnel, Sheerness ILB brought dinghy into Sheerness, where it was subsequently recovered to the owners trailer.

4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1810 to 15ft Angling Boat broken down in the West Swale, 4 persons onboard, casualty located SW of West Point in Queenborough hbr and towed back to the All tide landing, ILB returned to station at 1915. wind SW F5/6.
4th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2010 to 37ft yacht with engine failure, still under sail but unable to make the entrance of Queenborough Hbr, 1 person onboard, due to the strong tidal and wind conditions, the ALB was requested to assist. The ALB towed the yacht into the safety of Queenborough, ILb returned to station at 2150. wind SW F6.
4th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 2040 to assist the Yacht with engine failure, attempting to make Queenborough hbr, ILB stood by casualty, ALB towed the casualty into the safety of Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 2150. wind SW F6.
5th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1523 to 35ft cabin Cruiser with 3 persons onboard, broken down with electrical failure near Middle Sands. Whitstable L/B arrived on scene and commenced a slow tow towards the Sheerness ALB. ALB arrived on scene, tow established and one crewman placed onboard, casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1735. wind NW F4.
7th July Inshore Lifeboat crew paged at 0016, report of two persons in the water at Medway Bridge marina, Rochester, ILB was stood down at 0027, persons safe ashore.
10th July Inshore and All Weather lifeboats launched at 1458 to 24ft Motor Cruiser aground on West Shore, Sheerness Harbour, both Lifeboats arrived on scene, casualty high and dry, anchor placed out by ILB crew and craft left to refloat on next HW, ILB returned to station and ALB proceeded to No 15 buoy, where a 20ft Motor Cruiser with 2 persons onboard had broken down, the casualty was taken in tow for Gillingham Marina pontoon, where it was secured at 1629, ALB returned to station at 1730, wind Sthly F3.
10th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2212 to Cabin cruiser aground on West Shore, Sheerness Hbr, ILB stood by whilst casualty refloated and when casualty was unable to restart engines, the ILB took the casualty in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured at 2304, ILB returned to station and ready for service at 2335. wind Sthly F 3.
11th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0905 to Motor Cruiser, the ILB had dealt with the previous evening, casualty was lost and unsure of position in Thames Estuary , using Lifeboat’s D/F equipment, the casualty was located off Shoebury at anchor, casualty taken in tow and towed to the safety of Queenborough Hbr. where safety advice was passed by Lifeboat crew and Sheppey Cg. ALB ready for service at 1055. wind Sthly F3/4.
11th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1435 to report of small inflatable drifting off Sheerness seafront, one person onboard and one person in the water. ILB on scene with casualty, who is almost ashore, casualty made shore safely and ILB released. ILB ready for service at 1500. wind Sthly F 4/5.
11th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1606 to report of inflatable drifting off Sheerness, ILB carried out search of seafront, nothing untoward seen, ILB returned to station at 1634.

13th July All Weather lifeboat launched at 1805 to a 32ft Fishing vessel broken with fuel pump problems near the Princes Channel No4 lightbuoy, some 15 mls from station, one person onboard, Whitstable L/B also proceeding, who reached the casualty first  and commenced a tow towards Whitstable, the ALB took over the tow near the Kentish Flat windfarm and towed the casualty to within half a mile of Whitstable, where it was passed back to Whitstable L/B for them to place on a mooring. ALB returned to station at 2125. wind Sthly F3.
16th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1226 to 24ft bayliner Cruiser with 3 persons onboard, broken down off the LNG Terminal, Isle of Grain, ALB on scene at 1235, although the casualty had an anchor out, the craft had dragged it’s anchor under the walkway of jetty, the ALB closed the casualty bows on and managed to pass a heaving line with the tow line attached. The casualty was safely towed clear into open water and then towed into Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. The occupants were landed by the ALB, back at sheerness. ALB ready for service at 1415. wind SW F6.
18th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2211 to report of person threatening to jump from Rochester Bridge, the ILB was recalled at 2224, when the person was detained by Police. ILB ready for service at 2250. wind SW F3.
24th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1250 to report of 45ft fishing vessel aground South of the Pollard Spit lightbuoy in East Swale, whilst on route to casualty, the ALB was stood down, when it was confirmed the casualty was hard aground and would not refloat until the next HW. ALB returned to station at 1400. wind SW F3.
24th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2004 to report of 4 persons hanging onto navigational mark off Otterham, the ILB arrived on scene to find 3 persons in a tender and one on an inflatable jetski, persons were waiting for their parent craft to refloat and not in need of any assistance, ILB returned to station at 2125. wind SW F3.
25th July All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1015 to 27ft Angling boat with 3 persons onboard broken down off the Ham Gat buoy in East Swale. ALB located the craft and took the casualty in tow for Queenborough hbr, where it was secured. ALB returned to station at 1400. wind WNW F3.
25th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1229 to 26ft Yacht broken down with engine failure off Conyer Creek in Swale and unable to sail into creek, 2 persons onboard. The ILB located the casualty and towed it safely back into it’s mooring in Conyer. ILB returned to station at 1400. wind WNW F3.
29th July Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1506 to small inflatable broken down off Grain shore with 1 person onboard, casualty located and occupant taken onboard ILB, craft towed to the West Shore, where the person was landed with his craft, ILB returned to station at 1548. wind NNW F3.
4th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1103 to craft with fouled propellor reported off Eastchurch Cliffs, size and number onboard unknown as comms were lost with Cg. ALB arrived on scene 20 minutes after launching to locate 16ft Open Boat with 1 adult and 1 child onboard, craft had suffered damage to it’s propellor, the two occupants were taken onboard ALB and craft towed to Queenborough, where they were met by sheppey CG. ALB returned to station at 1239. wind WSW F4.
10th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1703 to 24ft Angling vessel on passage from Brightlingsea to Rochester and suffered engine failure and now dragging anchor, 2 persons onboard, near No 2 Medway Channel buoy. ALB arrived on scene, casualty now underway, but engine reported to be unreliable, casualty was taken in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured. Lifeboat returned to station at 1846.

12th August ILB crew paged at 1739 for small boat with swamped outboard, 2 persons onboard, craft uncertain of position,but poosibly in River Medway, the ILB was stood down and ALB requested to launch instead, as position of casualty possibly seaward of Garrison Point.

All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1810, proceeding to Grain Swatchway to commence search, further info from casualties mobile phone put them even further to the East, after talking direct to the casualty, a rough position was obtained, the casualty was located just to the SE of “F” Beacon, (some 5 miles from garrison point), the occupants were taken onboard the ALB and the craft towed into Queenborough hbr, the ALB returned to station at 2047. wind NW F3/4.

14th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1326 to report of person threatening to jump from Rochester bridge, ILB was recalled at 1330, when it was confirmed that person had been recovered by CG. ILB returned to station at 1350. wind Estly F2.
15th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0425 to 8 mtr Belgium Cruiser, reported to be making water after running aground on causeway off Hoo, River Medway, ALB arrived on scene, casualty had been towed to an alongside berth and occupants safe ashore, ALB provided pump and two crew, whilst casualty was towed to drying out berth by marina workboat. ALB returned to station at 0655. wind NNE F5.
16th August All Weather Lifeboat launched at 0530 to 9mtr Cruiser aground on rocks, believed near Nore marsh, 5 persons onboard. ALB located casualty on the North side of Nore marsh, ALB unable to close, tow line was passed over by use of rocket line, casualty eventually towed clear and taken to Gillingham Marina pontoon. ALB returned to station at 0730. wind NW F 6/7.
23rd August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1614 to Sailboarder with rig failure and being blown out sea off Sheerness, it was reported that the Pilot Cutter was stood by, ILB arrived on scene and recovered casualty & his rig, no medical attention required, casualty landed ashore at the shingle bank to Sheppey CG, ILB returned to station at 1708. wind SW F7/8.
27th August Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1430 to Sailboarder thought to be in trouble off Minster  Shingle bank, ILB was however recalled at 1435, when sailboarder came ashore safe and well. ILB returned to station at 1455. NNE  F4/5.
2nd September All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1504 to 28ft Motor Sailer with steering failure, 2 persons onboard, casualty at anchor in entrance of Stangate Creek, a tow was established and the casualty was towed into Queenborough hbr. ALB returned to station at 1635. wind Estly F3.
4th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1440 to 23ft yacht with broken rudder just east of Garrison Point with two persons onboard, the ILB passed a tow to casualty, who was towed to Queenborough hbr visitors moorings. The ILB then proceeded upriver to a 43ft Yacht aground near No23 lightbuoy, there were two persons onboard, the ILB stood by the craft until it safely re-floated at 1730 and proceeded under it’s own power to Chatham, ILB returned to station at 1814. wind Estly F3.
11th september All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1050 to a 40ft converted trawler with 8 persons onboard, which had suffered machinery failure off the South Shoebury buoy, upon arrival of the Lifeboat, the casualty had managed to re-start their engine and was proceeding towards Southend Pier, the Lifeboat escorted the casualty to the West of Southend Pier and with owner happy to proceed under it’s own power to it’s mooring, the ALB was released and returned to station at 1255. wind WSW F6/7.
11th September All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1330 to 33ft Cabin Cruiser with 5 persons onboard with steering failure SW of South Shoebury buoy, casualty can only steer in circles and owner very concerned. ALB arrived on scene and crew member transferred, tow established at 1353, heading back across to the Medway. The tow passed without incident, but one of the occupants was taken ill, an ambulance was arranged to meet the casualty at Queenborough, casualty safely secured and met by CG and ambulance, ALB returned to station at 1613. wind WSW F6.
25th September Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1436 to small 14ft dayboat broken down with outboard failure off Mariners farm, River Medway, 1 person onboard, ILB arrived on scene and established a tow and towed the casualty the short distance to the shore, where they were met by Medway CG, ILB returned to station at 1605. wind NNW F5/6.
26th September All Weather Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1105 to report of Kitesurfer in difficulties off Minster shingle bank, ALB navigated as close inshore as possible before launching the XP boat with two crew onboard to check out casualty, the crew recovered the kite rig, person made shore safely. ALB returned to station and was ready for service at 1300. wind NNW F6/7.
30th September All Weather Lifeboat diverted from exercise at 1858 to report of yacht possibly in difficulties in Stangate Creek, River Medway, upon arrival, the yacht was found aground on the seawall, assistance was declined by the owner and his crew and were happy to await next H.W, ALB returned to station at 2000.
3rd October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0930 to 15ft dayboat aground on West Point in Queenborough Hbr, 2 persons onboard, the craft was located high & dry and due to the wait for next H.W, the persons were taken off and landed ashore. ILB returned to station at 1115. wind Sthly F5.
5th October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 0253 to report of distressed female on M2 Motorway bridge, threatening to jump, person was detained by police & ILB released. ILB returned to station at 0435. wind ESE F2.
11th October Inshore Lifeboat paged at 1327 for launch to seacrh for vulnerable person reported missing at Rochester, person was located safely and ILB stood down before launch.
23rd October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1626 to 42ft Yacht aground on mudflats at Bishops Ooze, River Medway. 2 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene to find casualty high & dry, one crewmember walked across the mud to check on casualty, placed anchor out, owner happy to remain onboard until next tide. 23rd October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2254 to yacht aground on Bishops Ooze and to ensure it refloated safely, ILB arrived on scene, 1 crewmember placed onboard, casualty refloated and escorted to a safe mooring in Queenborough hbr. ILB returned to station at 0155. wind NW F3/4.
28th October Inshore Lifeboat launched at 1522 to small 15ft dayboat reported to have broken down off Barton’s Point, 1 person onboard, ILB arrived on scene, casualty had managed to hold onto a buoy, ILB towed the casualty back to the shore and returned to station at 1610. wind WSW F 4/5.
3rd November Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2302 to assist in search for vulnerable person missing at Rochester, possibly near river’s edge, ILB carried out search along with Rescue 125, Police helicopter and shore units, nothing found, ILB returned to station at 0127.

11th November All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1702 to report of 30ft Craft, broken down between Thamesport and Beeness jetty, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, comms only by mobile phone with CG. ALB arrived on scene at 1724, unable to close casualty due to insufficient water, XP boat launched, but still unable to close casualty, Helicopter requested, ALB stood by until arrival of Rescue 104, once casualties were safely airlifted, ALB was released and returned to station at 2000. wind WNE F 7/8.
13th December Inshore Lifeboat launched at 2018 to 45ft Motorboat with fuel problem in the area of Hoo Island, River Medway, 2 persons onboard. After limited communications with casualty and searching the area, the casualty was located aground inside to the North of Hoo Island, with a rapidly falling tide, the ILB took off the female occupant and landed her at Gillingham marina to Medway Cg, the male remained onboard the vessel. ILB returned to station and was rfs at 2218. wind NW F3/4.
29th December All Weather Lifeboat launched at 1710 to 7 metre Sports Cruiser with navigational equipment failure and unsure of position in thick fog, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, casualty safely located off Burntwick island, crewman transferred with portable VHF and casualty escorted back upriver to it’s mooring at Hoo Marina, ALB returned to station and ready for service at 1955. wind Lt Airs, Dense Fog, visibility less than 1 cable.

24th January ILB launched to 22ft yacht aground on Hoo Mudflats with 3 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and one crewman walked across to casualty, the ILB crew assisted the yachts crew one at a time back to the ILB, which was having to be taken further away, due to the falling tide, eventually all 3 occupants were taken to Gillingham marina where they were landed to CG and an ambulance. 1349 – 1604. 22nd February ILB and ALB launched to 28ft Yacht with broken propellor shaft and drifted into shallow water on Bishop’s Ooze, River Medway, one person onboard, the ILB towed the yacht into deeper water, were it handed over the tow to ALB, who towed the casualty to Gillingham Marina, the ILB then towed the yacht through the locks into the basin. 1646 – 1837. 25th February ILB launched to report of Person missing from Rochester Rail bridge, ILB arrived on scene and commenced search of River along with Rescue 125 and CG units, ILB searched up to M2 road bridge, nothing found. 2138 – 2359. Wstly 3
26th February ILB launched to report of Person threatening to jump from Sun Pier, Chatham, whilst on route to Chatham, the ILB was recalled when it was confirmed that person had been found safe at home. 2110 – 2150. WNW 3/4
4th March ALB on exercise, when crew sighted a Red Flare in the vicinity of Sea Reach/Southend area, ALB immediately proceeded and carried out a radar and visual search  from No 2 Sea Reach upto Holehaven, nothing untoward seen. 1950 – 2146. Sthly 3
5th March ILB launched to report of Person seen hanging from Rochester Bridge, but now lost from view, Rescue helicopter also proceeding, ILB arrived on scene and commenced search of area, shortly after it was confirmed that person was safe ashore and being dealt with by Police. 1800 – 1926. 15th March ILB launched to report of elderly Person overdue in small dinghy from Gillingham, last seen at 1630, ILB commenced a search of River, joined by Rescue 125, ILB located Person onboard a Yacht moored in Short Reach, Person safe and well, units stood down. 2128 – 0010. Wstly 2.
15th March ALB launched to report of missing Person possibly at risk on Minster Cliffs, ALB arrived on scene, but due to state of tide, night sight and searchlights in-effective at long range, ALB stood down. 2220 – 2335. Wstly 2.
29th March ILB launched to 26ft Cruiser aground on West side of Slayhill Marshes, 3 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene and appraised the situation whilst waiting for H.W, a tow was secured and the casualty was safely re-floated and escorted into deeper water, after discussion with the crew, the casualty was escorted into the safety of Queenborough Harbour where it was secured for night. 0205 – 0429. 29th March ILB launched to 19ft Yacht with 2 persons onboard, broken down in Queenborough harbour, occupants attempting to tow yacht with small dinghy. ILB arrived on scene and towed the casualty back to their mooring and then landed the the two occupants back to the All Tide Landing along with their dinghy. 1438 – 1555. Var 1

10th May ALB and ILB both launched to report of person with back injury onboard 40ft Yacht  moored off Chatham Docks entrance, ALB arrived on scene to assess the situation whilst ILB collected two Ambulance personnel from Gillingham Pier, casualty was successfully evacuated from the yacht and landed ashore at Gillingham Marina pontoon to Ambulance. 1026 – 1250. NE 3/4
10th May ALB launched to D/F carrier on VHF CH 16, causing interupption to distress channel, Rescue 125 also proceeding from Manston. As ALB was approaching Kingsferry Bridge, the carrier ceased and channel now all clear, ALB returned to station. 1340 – 1430. NE 4
14th May ALB launched to 25ft Cruiser broken down with fuel problem, between Medway Buoy and Sea Reach 1, 2 persons onboard. Casualty located and towed to the safety of Queenborough Hbr. 0825 – 1040. Estly 2
17th May ILB launched to report of craft approx 25ft trapped under the Jetty at Kingsnorth power station with 6 persons onboard including small children, upon arrival of ILB, the craft had managed to clear itself of the jetty, but was now aground on Darnettness, upon advice from ILB Crew, the owner was persuaded to be escorted to Gillingham Marina once ILB had assisted to refloat craft, the casualty was safely moored in the entrance to the marina, where it was met by Medway CG. 1225 – 1445. 17th May ALB launched to Belgium Yacht aground in entrance of Queenborough harbour, 3 persons onboard, upon arrival, casualty hard aground amongst the pile ruins of Queenborough pier, luckily the yacht had settled between the pile ruins and had sustained no damage, safety advice and tidal information passed via VHF, occupants happy to remain onboard. 2101 – 2140. 25th May ILB launched to small 3mtr Rowing boat with 3 youths onboard in difficulties after losing their oars off Grain Tower opposite Lifeboat Station, the youths were landed ashore on the seawall at Grain and the dinghy towed back to Sheerness. 1611 – 1655. Estly 2/3
29th May ALB launched to report of Motorboat broken down and drifting near Montgomery wreck, ALB was diverted to further report that casualty was off Mulberry Hbr, Southend. 10th June All Weather Lifeboat launched to report of Cabin Cruiser lost between Oaze deep Buoy and Red Sand Towers with 1 person onboard, report recieved from MFV. ALB located casualty just East of Oaze deep buoy, 1 foreign national onboard, no radio or charts, casualty taken in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured and handed over to local CG. 0832 – 1130. 11th June Inshore Lifeboat launched  to person with back injury onboard yacht moored off Chatham Docks,  ILB arrived on scene and placed crewman onboard to assesss situation and ILB embarked Paramedic from Gillingham, casualty was transferred to ILB and landed ashore to Ambulance at Gillingham. 1513 – 1715. 13th June Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of male entering the River Medway at Rochester near M2 bridge, Rescue 125 also proceeding, whilst on route to scene, it was confirmed that person had been recovered safe and well from the river, units stood down. 0210 – 0235. Wstly 2

28th June Inshore Lifeboat launched after being brought to Immediate Readiness to 25ft River Cruiser, with 4 persons onboard currently in tow of Southend Lifeboat after getting into difficulties off Canvey Island. ILB took over the tow in vicinity of Mid Swatch buoy and towed the casualty into Queenborough harbour. 1451 – 1620. Estly 2/3
5th July All Weather Lifeboat launched to assist 22ft Yacht reported aground on West Barrow bank with 2 persons onboard, have lost rudder and are taking on water. Southend Lifeboat on scene and attempting to tow craft clear and have placed pump onboard. Sheerness ALB arrived on scene and transferred two crew along with pump, the tow was then taken over by the ALB, the casualty was then towed back towards Southend at slow speed, the Lifeboat’s pump running continuosly. Upon arrival off Southend Pier, the casualty was handed back to Southend L/B for it to be towed inshore to Bell Wharf. ALB was released when her crew and pump were returned. 2046 – 0130. SW 5/6
8th July Inshore Lifeboat launched to 29ft Yacht aground in Stangate Creek, River Medway, 2 persons onboard. ILB loacted craft and towed Yacht clear of sea defences, unfortunately, the yacht had a defective engine and was therefore towed to a safe mooring in Queenborough harbour. 0155 – 0332. NW 4
15th July Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of a broken down dayboat with 3 persons onboard in vicinity of Queenborough Spit, ILB arrived in area, but nothing visual, further investigation by CG and Port Control now puts casualty just East of Garrison Point, casualty was assisted by Port Authority Workboat, ILB returned to station. 1203 – 1253. SW 7
15th July Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of two possibly three sailboarders in difficulties off Minster, Whitstable Lifeboat also proceeding. Sheerness ILB arrived on scene and recovered one sailboarder, others had reached shore safely, casualty was landed ashore to Sheppey CG. 1722 – 1823. Sw 6/7
17th July All Weather Lifeboat launched to 32ft Sottish Motor Yacht broken down off Grain Edge, 2 persons onboard, ALB arrived on scene to find casualty underway and procceding towards Chatham Marina, owner quite happy to proceed under own power, ALB released. 1640 -1715. SW 4
19th July All Weather Lifeboat launched to mayday call from 22ft Angling Boat with 6 persons onboard making heavy weather and shipping sea, reported to be South of the Blacktail Spit, Southend L/B also proceeding. ALB arrived on scene, 5 crew from casualty were transferred to ALB suffering from the wet and cold, ALB returned to Southend Pier and landed the occupants ashore, then returned to the casualty and escorted both Southend L/B & casualty towards Southend. Owner of casualty was later transferred to ALB, who was also taken to Southend Pier, ALB returned to Southend L/B and continued to escort them until they were safe in the entrance of Leigh Ray channel. 1320 – 1530. 19th July All Weather Lifeboat launched to 30ft Yacht encountering heavy weather across the “Cant” grounds (off Sheppey Coast), 4 persons onboard, some of which were suffering from sea sickness, ALB located casualty approx 1 mile East of the Mid Cant beacon, crewman transferred to establish and secure tow, casualty safely in tow for the River Medway. Casualty towed into the entrance of River Medway, where the owner was happy to proceed to Gillingham Marina under his own power, tow released and ALB tasked to another incident. 1556 -1700. WSW 7/8
19th July All Weather Lifeboat tasked and proceeding  to 20ft Yacht encountering heavy weather in Kethole Reach, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, Tug Svitzer Victory and another yacht standing by, ALB arrived on scene, transferred 1 crewman to establish tow and casualty was towed to the safety of Queenborough harbour. 1700 – 1814. WSW 7/8 gusting 9
24th July All Weather Lifeboat launched in response to Pan Pan call from 8 mtr Yacht with broken Forestay and mast in danger of collapsing, 2 persons onboard, craft’s position approx 2.7 mls NE of station. ALB arrived on scene and transferred one crewman to assess situation, yacht escorted into River Medway, where owner was happy to proceed upriver to Gillingham marina under his own power. 0932 – 1130. WSW 4
31st July Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of several sightings of Flares in Queenborough Hbr, after initial search and talking to Yachtsmen, it was confirmed that flares originated inland. 2321 – 0010. SE 2
2nd August Inshore Lifeboat launched to 24ft Yacht with Rudder failure off Kingsnorth, River Medway, 2 persons onboard, ILB located the yacht and towed them to the safety of their own mooring off Gillingham. 1854 – 2020. NW 1
3rd August All Weather Lifeboat launched to Fishing Vessel with machinery failure, just South of No 6 Medway Channel buoy, 2 persons onboard, casualty located and towed into the safety of Queenborough hbr. 0040 – 0228. NW 2
3rd August Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of person jumped from M2 Bridge at Rochester, upon arrival at scene, casualty had been recovered by Kent Fire & Rescue, ILB released. 1925 – 2105. SW 2
13th August Inshore and All Weather Lifeboat launched to report of 6yr old Child in the water off Sun Pier, Rochester, Lifeboats made their way to scene as quickly as possible and joined the search along with Rescue Helicopter 125, Kent Fire launch, private craft, CG, Police and Fire crews ashore.The ALB also deployed it’s small XP Boat to search the moorings, the search was terminated after nothing was found, Rescue units stood down. 1343 – 1708. 15th August Inshore lifeboat launched to report of dinghy in difficulties near Copperhouse marsh, River Medway, ILB arrived on scene to find one dinghy had been assisted by Port Patrol craft, but another inflatable dinghy was aground on mudflats off island, ILB crewmember walked ashore to casualty and assisted him back to the ILB and then went back and recovered his inflatable dinghy. The person and dinghy were landed ashore at Gillingham Strand to Medway CG . 0957 – 1225. SW 4/5
15th August All Weather Crew paged at 1008 to report of injured persons onboard sailing barge off Spaniard buoy after topmast collapsed, whilst crew were preparing to launch, they were stood down, Whitstable L/B attending incident
15th August All Weather Lifeboat launched to “Medivac” sick crewmember from Yacht near Spile Buoy, person suffering from anxiety and sea sickness, ALB arrived on scene and person was evacuated to ALB and brought back to Sheerness, where he was landed. 1150 – 1312. SW 4/5
15th August All Weather lifeboat launched to 68ft ex-Rhine Barge with 3 persons onboard, broken down and drifting towards Kentish Wind farm, ALB arrived on scene, casualty had managed to re-start his engine, ALB intending to escort craft in, but shortly after, the engine failed again, ALB took the casualty in tow, proceeding to Harty ferry in the River Swale. The casualty managed to re-start his engine again and was anchored in a safe anchorage to await the tide into Faversham creek, ALB released to return to station. 1520 – 1842. SW 5

21st August All Weather Lifeboat launched to 8 mtr Cruiser reported to be broken down in River Medway, 2 persons onboard. Casualty was located at anchor inside of Darnettness Island, the casualty was towed to the safety of Gillingham marina. 0445 – 0640. SW 4
21st August Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of broken down Speedboat with 3 persons onboard  in Swale. ILB located casualty aground on Long Point, ILB successfully refloated casualty and towed to the safety of Kingsferry bridge launch ramp. 1549 – 1755. Wstly 4
23rd August All Weather lifeboat launched to drifting Catamaran in Queenborough Hbr following report from Yacht that catamaran had collided with her, unsure if anyone onboard.

ALB located 37ft catamaran searching for a mooring after anchor failed, all well onboard, catamaran was directed to safe anchorage, no injuries on either craft. 0215 – 0330. SE 3

28th August Inshore Lifeboat launched to small 9ft Inflatable with outboard reported in difficulties with 2 adults and 1 child onboard in East Swale. ILB arrived on scene to find the persons ashore on Spitend Marsh, all hypothermic, the ILB transported the persons back to Elmley, where they were landed ashore to Sheppey CG for forward transport to Kingsferry Bridge, where an Ambulance was waiting, the ILb recovered their inflatable and landed it ashore at Kingsferry bridge. 1830 – 2110, SW 7/8, heavy squalls
2nd September Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of Speedboat aground on mud in South Yantlet creek, River Medway, 1 adult and 3 children onboard, ILB arrived on scene, but was unable to close the casualty due to the state of tide, two crewmembers managed to reach the craft through the soft mud, but thought it unwise to attempt to walk casualties back to ILB so requested Helicopter support. Whilst waiting for the Helicopter, the crew kept the occupants of the craft warm until Rescue 125 arrived on scene and airlifted the casualties to the shore. The helicopter then airlifted the ILB crew back to the ILB, the craft remained stranded, but at anchor. 1658 – 1930. SW 5
4th September All Weather Lifeboat launched to drifting yacht off Whitstable with one Lady onboard, (Whitstable Lifeboat had already recovered one male from the water after falling overboard and taken him ashore), the ALB located the yacht drifting off Tankerton, one crewman was transferred and the craft taken in tow, with limited options where to tow the yacht, course was set for Queenborough, however, the lady was understandably very worried about her husband and suffering from the cold, Whitstable lifeboat was requested to evacuate  her ashore, this was achieved and the ALB re-commenced it’s tow for Queenborough, where the yacht was eventually secured. 1430 – 1906. 11th September Inshore Lifeboat paged at 1612 for report of missing sailboarder off Minster, as ILB was being launched the Crew were stood down, Sailboarder came ashore safe and well
15th September Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of Two adults cut off by the tide on Copperhouse marsh, River Medway, ILB arrived on scene and located the two persons, who were taken onboard the ILB and subsequently landed ashore to Medway CG at Gillingham Marina. 1953 – 2140. ENE 5
20th September Inshore lifeboat launched to report of Yacht trapped under berth at Sheerness Docks, ILB arrived on scene one minute after launching to find Yacht now clear of berth, but unable to motor against strong ebb tide, one person onboard, Yacht taken in tow for Queenborough Hbr, where it was secured at 0520, after checking that owner & craft were ok, the ILB returned to station. 0424 – 0600. 26th September Inshore lifeboat launched to 28ft Yacht reported aground South of Burntwick Island, River Medway, one person onboard, upon arrival, the casualty had been towed clear of marsh by another craft and was now anchored in Sharfleet Creek, after checking that all was well, the ILB returned to station. 1845 – 1940. 8th October Inshore Lifeboat launched to 28ft Motor Cruiser aground off Yantlet Creek, Isle of Grain with two persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene as casualty was refloating, once afloat, the casualty was escorted to Queenborough harbour. 2354 – 0212. NE 4
11th October Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of Red Flares in area of Upnor, River Medway, ILB carried out search of river, whilst Cg and Police carried out search ashore, nothing found. 0025 – 0207. WSW 3
11th October All Weather Lifeboat launched to 22ft yacht with two persons onboard, suffered engine failure and reported sails blown out, whilst on passage from West Mersea to River Medway, casualty located, crewmember placed onboard and casualty towed to the safety of Queenborough hbr. 1555 – 1900. 18th October All Weather and Inshore Crews paged to report of Microlight aircraft crashed into the sea off Minster, However, before launching, it was confirmed that it was a large bunch of balloons, crew’s stood down. 1530 – 1538
24th October All Weather Lifeboat launched to 28ft Motorboat broken down, towing a 23ft yacht  to Gillingham, 3 persons onboard. casualty located near No 13 lightbuoy, crewman placed onboard motorboat and both craft towed to Gillingham marina. 2000 – 2225. SW 4
28th October Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of Two Persons jumped from Motorway Bridge at Rochester, on route to the scene, it was confirmed that the persons were “Base Jumpers” and were now safe ashore, ILB stood down. 1724 – 1817. SW 2
1st November Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of persons possibly in difficulties off Sun Pier, Chatham, either in dinghy or in the water, CG and Police searching ashore, ILB carried out search of area, nothing found, call believed to be false alarm with good intent. 0010 – 0206. SE 1/2
1st November All Weather Lifeboat launched to report of 8 mtr Motorboat broken down in a position approx 14 mls ENE of Station, just East of the Shivering Sand Towers, 2 persons onboard. ALB arrived in area, nothing visual or on radar, wind SSE force 8 gusting 9 with heavy rain at times, only comms with casualty were via mobile phone which were very intermittent. Further information from Thames Cg placed casualty possibly to the South of Lifeboat’s position. ALB sighted casualty just West of the Kentish Windfarm, due to the prevailing weather, the two occupants were taken off, but the craft a 18ft dayboat was left abandoned, it being too dangerous to establish a tow. The Lifeboat returned to station and the two survivors landed ashore to CG. 0955 – 1317. SSE 8/9
4th November Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of 24ft Motorboat broken down in entrance of Stangate Creek, River Medway with 4 persons onboard, ILB arrived on scene to find that craft was in tow of 18ft Open Motorboat with split fuel line to outboard, both craft towed to the safety of Queenborough hbr. 0155 – 0318. SW 4/5
8th November Inshore Lifeboat launched to report by a fisherman of a body floating in the River off Chatham, ILB arrived on scene and assisted Medway Cg and Police in the recovery. 0732 – 0923. ESE 2
22nd November Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of Two Sailboarders in trouble off Minster Shingle bank, ILB located the casualties and took them onboard ILB, both persons landed ashore to CG. 1445 – 1548. Wstly 7/8
26th November Inshore Lifeboat launched to report of person possibly jumped from Rochester Bridge. ILB commenced search at Sun Pier and carried out extensive search of river and moorings along with Rescue helicopter 125 and search units ashore, nothing found, ILB returned to station. 2313 – 0222. SW 3/4
30th November All Weather Lifeboat launched in response to “Mayday” call from 22ft yacht with two persons onboard reported to be sinking approx 3 miles NE of Montgomery wreck. Sheerness pilot cutter and Rescue 125 also proceeding, using the Lifeboat’s D/F, the casualty was located approx 6 miles East of Garrison Point, the owner reported that the ingress of water had stabilised, crewman and portable pump transferred and tow established, shortly after, the casualty reported the craft to be settling by the stern, the two occupants were taken off and the craft pumped dry, tow re-established for Queenborough hbr, where the craft was secured and once again pumped dry. 1425 – 1800.
