The volunteer crew of the Sheerness RNLI inshore lifeboat Buster were tasked at 1.32pm on Saturday 6 November by UK Coastguard to reports that a foil surfer was in difficulty NE of Bartons Point.
Launching at 1.44pm with a crew of three the crew were updated by the UK Coastguard to a 2nd casualty involving two people in a small inflatable tender who had been fishing and had also got into difficulties.
Further communication from the UK Coastguard informed that both sets of casualties had now been assisted by a passing UK Border Force Patrol vessel and had been taken onboard. Having made contact with the patrol boat the three people were transferred onto the lifeboat and taken to the Shingle Bank along with the dinghy and foil board minus its sail.
All three casualties reported that they were in good health, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
