Sheerness RNLI all weather lifeboat ‘George and Ivy Swanson’ launched at 1515 on Friday 6 March after being tasked to a 33 foot angling boat with a man and a lady on board,which had broken down with electrical failure and was at anchor near to the Spile Buoy off the Isle of Sheppey. The lady passenger was reported to be diabetic and had no medication with her having not anticipated being at sea for such a length of time.
Making best speed the lifeboat located the casualty on Spile Sands and placed a crew member onboard who assisted in recovering the anchor and attaching a towline to enable the craft to be towed to the all tide landing at Queenborough Harbour where it was secured at 1715.
The ALB was back on station at 1735.  NW 3-4
