All weather lifeboat launched at 0445 to attempt to re-float the Dutch barge aground at Warden Point, Whitstable lifeboat has also been launched to assist in the shallow waters at base of cliffs. With both lifeboats on scene, the Whitstable lifeboat run the ALB’s tow rope across to the casualty. With it now being the top of the tide, steady weight was put on the tow and the Dutch barge was slowly towed clear of the shore, after initial checks were made for damage, the craft was placed on a suitable length of tow and towed back to Queenborough Harbour, where it was secured on the commercial moorings at 0725.
