2nd February

Inshore Lifeboat ‘Buster’ launched with a crew of three at 18:32 on 2 February after being tasked by the UK Coastguard to reports that a small fishing boat with two people on board had run aground in The Swale close to the Kingsferry Bridge. The lifeboat was on the scene at 18:51 and located the craft high and dry on a mud bank. With no possibility of moving the casualty checks were made to make sure the anchor was out and secure. Once this was established the two men were transferred to the lifeboat and taken a short distance to the Kingsferry pontoon where they were met by the Sheppey Coastguard rescue team.
The ILB was stood down at 19:07 and was back on station at 19:30.  Wind WSW 4/5.
