Inshore lifeboat launched at 1138 on Saturday 28 December 2019 after being tasked by the UK Coastguard to reports of an up-turned dinghy in the River Medway close to the M2 Bridge at Rochester.
The lifeboat proceeded at best speed and located the craft along with a large piece of floating debris and with nothing untoward found a line was attached and the wreckage was towed to Medway Bridge Marina where,with assistance from the Medway Coastguard Rescue Team,it was removed from the water and the lifeboat crew were stood down.
Whilst on route back to station the lifeboat crew reported to the Coastguard that there was a lot of floating debris all the way upriver from Rochester in the tidal section.
The lifeboat was back on station at 1345. Wind SSE 2
