Inshore lifeboat launched at 0450 to report from UKCG of a Female in the sea in a distressed state off Sheerness seafront. The casualty was sighted by Sheppey CRT who had also been mobilised and guided the ILB to the casualty, who was now out of her depth and disappearing under the water. Having found the casualty, a crew member entered the water and managed to hoist her inboard, once on board, the ILB sped to the beach and landed the casualty into the care of Sheppey CRT to await the arrival of an ambulance, it is believed the casualty had been in the water more than 30 minutes. ILB returned to station and ready for service at 0545. NE 4/5.
