Sheerness ILB was tasked by the UK Coastguard in response to a 999 call from a concerned member of the public who had spotted two teenagers in an inflatable dinghy in the middle of the River Medway between St Mary’s Island and the North shore opposite.
Launching at 1539, the lifeboat was on scene at 1607 where the crew observed that the dinghy and its occupants were now safely ashore.
The ILB was stood down at 1607 and returned to Station at 1645 where it was washed down, refuelled and ready for further service at 1705
