Having just returned from exercise, the ILB launched at 1318 to a small 14ft Dory with 2 persons on board aground on Queenborough Spit, the ILB managed to close to within approx 40ft and with one crewman walking across to casualty with tow line,the ILB managed to tow the craft off the mud into deeper water, where the casualty managed to re-start their outboard, the ILB escorted the craft into Quenborough Causeway, where the craft was recovered. The ILB returned to station at 1450. NNE 3.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1950 to a 22ft angling boat with 3 persons on board, broken down near No 20 Buoy, River Medway. ILB on scene at 2009, craft taken under tow and safely towed back to its mooring in Damhead Creek. Once the persons were seen safe ashore, the ILB was released and returned to station at 2200.
