Inshore Lifeboat crew paged at 0127 to RHIB in the Swale after contact had been lost. ILB was cancelled, however at 0135, after being resolved.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1756 after report of a Kayaker in difficulties in entrance of the River Medway. ILB located the casualty at 1802, off the Grain shore, occupant reported he was okay and happy to continue unaided back to Queenborough, after safety advice was given, the ILB returned to station at 1809. Inshore lifeboat launched at 2003 to report of small RHIB aground in the Swale with 2 persons on board. With the tide still dropping, the ILB proceeded at best speed to the area, limited contact was made with the casualty craft on VHF, but the ILB could still not see the casualty, eventually, the craft was located on the mudflats off Elmley. One crewmember attempted to walk ashore, but due to the soft and deep mud, returned to the ILB, after a lengthy discussion with the UKCG and the occupants, the occupants reported they had warm clothing and provisions and were happy to wait for the flood tide and would keep in contact with the CG. ILB released at 2140, returning to station at 2215. NW 4.
All weather lifeboat was tasked by the UK Coastguard at 1633 on Saturday 31 August to assist a 20′ yacht with mechanical failure, reported to be in the vicinity of the SS Montgomery wreck, off of Sheerness seafront. Launching at 1646 with a crew of 6 the Lifeboat made contact with the casualty vessel via VHF, which had 2 persons on board. The casualty was located approx. 1.6 miles to the East of the wreck and a tow was quickly established at 1705. The Lifeboat with the casualty in tow proceeded to the Queenborough All Tide Landing where the yacht was safely secured at 1810.The Lifeboat was released and returned to station at 1825. WSW F4/5.
