All weather lifeboat launched at 0920 to a small motor cruiser which had broken down and drifted under berth 10, Sheerness Docks, there were 3 persons on board. Having quickly arrived on scene, the lifeboat passed a line and towed the craft clear of the danger and into clear water, the craft had sustained some minor damage, but had maintained its watertight integrity, all 3 persons on board were reported to be okay. The casualty craft was towed to Queenborough ATL and met by Sheppey CRT. The lifeboat returned to station at 1007. NW 5.
All weather lifeboat launched at 1628 to an 8 mtr pleasure craft suffering from machinery failure and at anchor approx. 2 miles North of Warden Point. ALB arrived on scene at 1652, the two occupants okay and happy to remain on board, the casualty craft recovered their anchor and a tow was passed, with the craft secure, the lifeboat commenced its passage back towards the Medway. On route, the lifeboat was advised that another craft was willing to take over the tow and tow the craft back to its mooring. The other craft took over the tow at 1800 and heading back into Stoke Creek. The lifeboat returned to station at 1815. SW 5/6.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1859 to report of a person trapped at the base of the cliffs at Warden Point. Sheppey CRT and Ambulance already on scene at cliff top, Rescue 163 proceeding. ILB arrived on scene and stood by, whilst the Rescue Helicopter airlifted the person to the safety of the cliff top, where the person was transferred to the ambulance. ILB released and returned to station at 2014. Southerly 2/3.
ILB crew paged at 1602 to report of Jet Ski in difficulties off Minster Leas, ILB cancelled at 1613, incident resolved.
Inshore Crew paged at 1242 to incident at Rochester, ILB cancelled at 1254 before launching.
All weather crew paged at 1334 to craft reported on fire Gillingham reach, ALB cancelled at 1339, craft now under tow of another vessel and fire reported out.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1615 following report of 2 Jet Skiers aground in Long Reach, Swale. The ILB searched the area, but could not find the casualties, the UKCG managed to make intermittent contact by mobile phone with the persons involved and with more information, the ILB proceeded to Stangate Creek, where a further search of creeks was carried out, with it being close to low water, the ILB searched as far as possible. One of the casualties was located on Burntwick Island and the second shortly afterwards, they were taken onboard the ILB and landed at Kingsferry bridge into the care of Sheppey CRT. ILB returned to station at 1930. Estly 2.
Relief All weather lifeboat “Forward Birmingham” launched at 1350 to a yacht aground and reported to be listing over in Stangate Creek, River Medway, one person on board. Lifeboat on scene at 1405, the yacht was located listing heavily, the person requested to be taken off, due to insuffient water, the owner rowed his small tender across to the lifeboat, once onboard, he was taken to Queenborough ATl, where he was landed into the care of Sheppey CG. ALB returned to station at 1515. Estly 4/5.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 2335 to incident at Sheerness Seafront, ILB stood down at 2337, incident resolved by Police. ILB back on station at 2342. NE 5/6.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 0358 to incident at Sheerness seafront, Sheppey CRT also in attendance. ILB returned to station at 0440. SSE 3/4.
Relief All weather lifeboat launched at 1350 to report from UKCG of a 20ft Motorboat broken down and drifting off Beeness Jetty, River Medway, one person onboard. ALB on scene at 1410, tow line passed and casualty craft safely under tow at 1415, the craft was towed to the safety of Queenborough Harbour, where it was secured on a mooring at 1455. ALB returned to station at 1507. Southerly 5/6.
