Inshore lifeboat launched at 1606 to vulnerable person on Rochester Bridge, ILB stood down at 1614, person now safe with Police off bridge. ILB returned to station and ready for service at 1645. Sthly 3.
Inshore Crew paged at 1437 to report of two persons cut off by the tide at Warden Point. Launch cancelled at 1445 by UKCG, persons now reported to be safe and now out of danger.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 1823 to small inflatable dinghy with outboard failure, one person on board, drifting approx half a mile off Minster. ILB on scene at 1834, person taken on board ILB and dinghy taken under tow, proceeding to the Shingle Bank. Casualty safe ashore at 1857 with Sheppey CRT. ILB returned to station at 1913, ready for service at 1930. SW 4.
All weather lifeboat launched at 2356 to the 30ft Yacht from previous day, reported to be in difficulty again, this time with two persons on board. Craft reported to be in same position, but upon arrival on scene, no signs of craft and only comms by mobile phone, further info gleaned stated, that the craft may be off Sheerness seafront. Casualty located at 0030, at anchor close the Sheerness Outfall buoy, UKCG concerned for the safety of occupants, the craft was taken under tow and secured in Queenborough Harbour, where the lifeboat was met by Sheppey CRT. ALB returned to station at 0135 and ready for service at 0150. SW 4. (Owner had returned to craft in evening and pumped craft out and attempting to sail back to Gillingham).
All weather lifeboat launched at 2315 to 30ft Yacht aground on Grain Outfall and taking on water. 1 person on board, ALB on scene at 2318, Yacht being illuminated by Svitzer tugs Monarch and Harty. ALB closed the casualty and managed to recover the occupant from the forward part of craft, which was by now almost under water. The person apart from being wet, had suffered no injuries. ALB returned to the boathouse to await Sheppey CRT, whilst waiting, the ILB was launched to attempt to secure the yacht to the outfall beacon. The ALB returned to provide illumination and safety cover, the ILB managed to successfully secure a rope between the yacht and beacon, thus avoiding a navigational hazard. Both lifeboat returned to station at 0040, ready for service at 0100. SW 2.
Inshore lifeboat tasked at 0044 to report of vulnerable person intent on entering the water at St Mary’s Island. Launch cancelled by UKCG at 0048, person safe with Police.
Inshore lifeboat tasked at 1637 to report of dog swum out approx. 1 mile from Minster Leas and will not return, CG concerned that owner will enter water after the dog. Launch cancelled at 1644, dog returned to shore safely.
All weather lifeboat launched at 1828 to 26ft Motor Sailer with machinery failure near Grain Edge buoy, one person onboard. On scene 1835, owner had managed to resolve the problem and with engine now running okay, was happy to continue his passage to Gravesend. ALB returned to station at 1850. NW 2.
Inshore lifeboat launched at 0020 to report of vulnerable person threatening to jump from Upnor Jetty. ILB advised at 0024 by UKCG to stand down, person now safe with Police. ILB returned to station at 0030. Estly 3.
All weather lifeboat launched at 1448 to take over the tow from Southend lifeboat of a 12.5 Mtr Sports Cruiser, which was disabled after suffering an exploded battery in their engine compartment, all three persons onboard were okay and no injuries sustained. The ALB took over the tow just West of the Montgomery Wreck and the craft was towed to the all tide landing, where they were met by Sheppey CRT and KFRS, who as a precaution were there to check for fumes, etc. ALB released and returned to station at 1545. Estly 2.
ILB crew paged at 0201, being tasked to a vulnerable person on the Sheppey Crossing, the UKCG cancelled the launch at 0207, person safe with Police.
