Sheerness RNLI inshore lifeboat was tasked at 1229 by the UK Coastguard to respond to reports of a person in the water from a submerged vessel in the vicinity of Chatham Reach, River Medway.
Launching at 1242 with a crew of three the ILB was on scene at 1314
After reporting back to the UK Coastguard ‘nothing seen’ the ILB commenced a search but was updated by the UK Coastguard at 1340 after the Medway Coastguard Rescue Team had spoken again to the first informant from a nearby office block and reported that the person had been recovered by a RHIB from a local Yacht Club.
The ILB was stood down at 1340, returned to station at 1427 and was ready for service at 1450. Nthly 4/5.
