All weather lifeboat launched at 1732 to a 28ft Craft with propeller fouled by a string of crab pots, which were still on seabed. Position just South of the Red Sand Towers, 2 persons on board. ALB on scene at 1807, crew managed to cut the remaining pots free, but the craft’s propeller was still fouled by rope. The craft was taken under tow for Sheerness, where once alongside, a further attempt was made to free the propeller, but to no avail. The craft was secured for the night, until the owner could arrange a tow back to Gillingham marina. The lifeboat was back in it’s berth and ready for service at 2037. Var 1.
