Sheerness RNLI all-weather lifeboat crew were tasked at 0855 on Sunday 11 October by the UK Coastguard to respond to reports of a 29′ cabin cruiser with 3 people on board which was disabled due to becoming entangled in a mooring chain in the vicinity of Gillingham Reach.
Launching at 0917 with a crew of 6 onboard the Lifeboat was on scene at 0948.
At 1037 after the lifeboat crew had managed to release the casualty vessel it was then towed the short distance to a mooring opposite Gillingham Marina and the 3 persons were handed into the care of the Medway Coastguard Rescue Team who were present on shore.
The ALB was released at 1059 and returned to station at 1135. NW 4.
