All weather lifeboat launched at 1225 after being tasked by the UKCG to a report from a member of the public of 4 persons frantically bailing out their dinghy near Chathamness, River Medway, the larger all weather boat was sent due to the prevailing weather. The lifeboat arrived on scene at 1300, two craft from the Royal Engineer’s were already in the area along with a local marina workboat, after a thorough search by all craft, no signs of the persons or dinghy were found. The Royal Engineer’s searched up the river to Cuxton and still nothing found, further information was received, that the dinghy had been seen travelling upriver, with no signs of distress. All craft were stood down, with the lifeboat returning to station at 1425. NW 6/7.
