On arrival of lifeboats, a small yacht was found at anchor and occupants in no imminent danger, the “Mayday” was downgraded, the tug was also released, it was the yachts small tender, that was making water and so the ILB commenced to bail out the tender, the yacht had suffered engine failure and so the ALB took the yacht under tow and the ILB dealt with the dinghy, both craft were towed to Queenborough Harbour, where they were safely moored. The lifeboats returned to station at 1930. Northerly F5.
